    A couple of more must have upgrades include split mirrors, headers that reduce heat, clear plastic film to protect your fender’s paint, upgraded shift linkage, luggage rack, and rear bumper.

    Great choice of upgrades......l have added all of them to my 2020 TriGlide. Two additional recommendations for the Custom Dynamics L.E.D. package...the programmable strobe modules for the taillights, and the tourpack. These REALLY increase your visibility to other drivers, both day and night. l've actually had "cage dwellers" pull up to me in the daylight, and tell me how much easier it is for them to see me....Solid investments for safety, and peace of mind....Keep the great vids coming.....-Mike

    As I am new and researching the HD Tri Glide for future purchase. It would have been great if you could have shown the viewers like myself what the up upgrades look like. Thanks I will keep them in mind. Video was helpful.

    it's nice to see a tri glide channel. when i bought my bike [2018] i put on mud flaps, rear bumper, luggage rack, lift kit, backrest, and have highway pegs [not yet installed]. i deliberately kept the stock 'sissy' pipes because as a nurse i wanted to preserve my hearing. the lift kit was because of the size of speed bumps back home.
    the backrest is a godsend on long distance rides; i got the bike to go cross country and then covid happened. [sighs] i did have to change out the brake and clutch levers. they were entirely too large for my hands. the friction zone BEGAN at my fingertips. i stalled a lot until i took the MSF course and discovered other levers that i had zero trouble with.
    i debated the hammock seat when it was less then 1k and i'm sorry i didnt get it then; the price has gone up considerably. i bought all three maintainance manuals [trike, touring and electrical]. i did add heated grips later on and handlebars that were a bit longer for my comfort.
    i hate the gps; it doesnt give u exit numbers and very little notice when to take exits. half the time for no apparent reason the voice prompts didnt work. the headset that came with the bike was a piece of crap. i had trouble with the clutch slipping gears on it's own and the mechanic at HD [who got fired] kept telling me i didnt know how to ride the bike. the parts dept said it was because the replacement levers werent a HD brand even though they were 'compatible.'
    the heel-toe shifter actually got stuck once and i brought the bike in to check the clutch... they rebuilt the transmission at a handsome price [on a new bike]... when they put the heated grips on they installed the right side of the wiring inside the handlebar and the left side outside the handlebar, pinching thru the wiring when they put the handle on... needless to say i dont go there anymore.

    I agree with most and have done most I don’t like back rest I have one for my Goldwing trike and took it off so I don’t have one for my Tri Glide and my legs are short so I don’t need pegs

  • @chipgroff9664

    #1 suspension lift, as you said. I choose rear trunk relocation 2" inches aft (I do this to all my touring rides), upgraded suspension and exhuast system of any mfg of choice, trunk luggage rack if you don't have one, rear fender protection and rear bumper. I have a bunch of individual mods but I've had mine since new, 14 TG Twin Cooled w/90K+ miles and have been installing comfort and performance items from day one. The one biggest recomendations I have is don't use the reverse motor if you can help it and definitely when the bike is fully loaded.

    Screaming eagle tuner is not up to par with other tuners, not even close. You can gain almost 10hp and a cooler engine temps by using a dynajet tuner compared to a screaming eagle tune.

    You said the air breather improved your fuel economy. What did your mileage used to be and what is it now?

    • @TriGliderHD
      @TriGliderHD  4 месяца назад +1

      I installed my slip-on mufflers and air breather at the same time, and it improved my fuel economy by about 2 mpg on a highway ride. There obviously could have been other factors at play on that first long ride after install as well, but the overall number of miles I can put in between fill-ups has stayed consistent since then.👍

    What part of ND are you riding? around lake Metigoshe? I am getting a 2021 freewheeler with 600 miles on it this spring. good to know what I can do to make it a better ride. I ride a shovelhead currently. I had a 2011 twink fatboy low, but did not like the way it handled, sold it to my BIL, and now this freewheeler deal presented it self. ON a side note "nothing sounds as good as a shovelhead". JMOFWIW.

    Just Wondering: If all these upgrades are so necessary, why do you think HD is producing such a deficient motorcycle? Seems they could get it done right from the factory?

    • @TriGliderHD
      @TriGliderHD  11 месяцев назад

      Any motorcycle company could create the “perfect” motorcycle or trike, but there’s big money in parts and accessories. Indian, Honda, and all of the other companies sell stock motorcycles with available parts and accessories as well, so it’s the same across the board.

    • @norse2459
      @norse2459 9 месяцев назад

      They do sell it with all the mentioned upgrades and more - it is the CVO model which I bought. It costs more but by the time you add all the parts a CVO has to a Tri-Glide you end up spending more money and will not have the resale value of a CVO.

    • @TriGliderHD

      The free wheeler is a stripped down version of the Tri Glide, but just as awesome. The Tri Glide is fully dressed with a fairing and lowers in the front, along with a tour pack and larger trunk in back. The Tri Glide is also equipped with the HD infotainment system.

    • @TriGliderHD
      @TriGliderHD  3 месяца назад

      Have you adjusted the rear suspension yet? On my Tri Glide, the adjuster is located under the seat just in front of the tour pack. I keep mine a bit soft because of the horrible roads around here, but that is my personal preference.
      You will find the suggested settings by weight in your manual. I hope you find the perfect setting for yourself.

    I'm on my second HD trike. I put 20,00 on st one afirst and now 18,000 miles on my current one. I had to install foam handle grips on both because they are so hard to steer it flares up ther arthritis in my hands so bad that I can't sleep at night for all the pain.
    On my 2021 I had to install a heel shifter (my 2020 came with one) so when my gout is flared up and can still shift the stupid thing. I had the seat customized by lowering the passenger seat by an inch and a half and installing gel pads in both the driver and passenger seats. I had it lowered because my wife is crippled and has to pull her way onto the driver seat and then push herself back and UP to the passenger seat with my help. ( It's hard growing OLD)
    My biggest complaint with the HD trikes (mine is a Tri-Gkide) is the harsh ride of the rear suspension. They ride like a dump truck. I've installed progressive shocks on both my trikes which helps a little and I run 20 psi in the rear tires which also helps a little. The HD trike is fine out on the highway, but in town driving where the roads have cracks, pot holes, patch work and other imperfections it will jar your teeth out. That's why now I am considering selling the Harley and NEVER buying another one and going to a maxi-scooter. At least scooters ride better.

      I currently have the stock seat with the leather backrest on my 2022 Tri Glide. I had the air Road Zeppelin on my 2011 Tri glide and I’m actually thinking about getting the updated version if the road Zeppelin for my new trike. The Saddleman Road Sofa is also looking like a decent option.
