    I put a kit similar to this on my 2011 trike. Night to day handling improvement. After decades of Harley ownership am I surprised HD didnt do this from the factory? Not at all. 1) They don't care and 2) they're too cheap. But I love these bikes so. Old tech, old school and awesome.

      @@LegendSuspensions What a bunch of BS LEGENDS is spewing out ! Especially this guy, who works for LEGENDS. He's so full of S - - - his eyes are brown ! The only thing he's right about, is the improvement on front wheel handling. LEGENDS doesn't wish that Harley installed these too at the factory ! Because LEGENDS wouldn't be making the hundreds of thousands of dollars off of their black powder-coated, drilled out, steel plates ! $200 for two steel-plates w/holes drilled out of them is a JOKE ! Anyone who's handy w/a welder & a drill-press can make these for a 1/4 of the price ! Further more, a set of decent Air-shocks (I'd rather have a nice set of OHlins on the back) will do the SAME THING ! A set of decent Air-shocks will take care of a few suspension issues that Harley's come from the factory with. But, again, a quality set of coil-overs would GREATLY improve the rear end of a Harley.

    Air-shocks are the KEY to setting-up a TRI-GLIDE & its poor suspension & handling issues, and will replace these plates from LEGENDS. But, you must be willing to pay close attention to the PSI in your system as you ride to keep it at the best performance & safe level. At any rate, the BEST rear suspension is a set of quality coil-overs for the rear of any HD touring scooter. HANDS DOWN !

    I'm a little confused about your video. You said the brackets will give a tri-glide more ground clearance for the pipes, but then you said to put spacers on the muffler tips to bring them down. I have a 2010 tri-glide. Doesn't the spacers negate the main brackets for ground clearance?

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions  10 месяцев назад

      Hey there, good question.
      On that specific topic the spacer does not lower the muffler the same amount as the bracket.
      The spacer is much shorter than the 1-1/4" lift.
      On 2009-2016 Tri Glide you only add the bracket, no spacer needed, the spacer was for M8 models 2017+
      That M8 bracket has also been revised as well and no longer needs the spacer.
      We have new videos on this they just have not been released just yet.

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions  4 месяца назад

      Hello,
      Congratulations on the NEW machine!! We do offer a full list of fitments on the 2024 Tri-Glide models from front suspension, AIR or Coil Rear shocks and Lift Brackets.
      We have a specific shock for this machine that is 13.6" long and it essentially has the lift bracket built into it already, so you are not getting 13" shocks then paying extra for the lift bracket. You can just go with longer shocks from the get-go. Out Axeo front suspension matched any of those setups perfectly and Customers LOVE them.
      If you want to try lift brackets, and then decide you want shocks you want 13" shocks.
      If you decide you want the lift and shocks right away, then go with 13.6" shocks to get it all in one and save some money. Either rear option works perfect with our Standard height front end for the Tri-Glide.
      If you have any questions, we offer a live chat on our website that goes directly to the techs in Customer Service, or please email us service@legendsuspensions.com

    I have a 2017 Freewheeler. If people are going to get a lift from a 13" shock with a new bracket, can't they just go with a 14" shock to begin with ?

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions  7 месяцев назад

      Great question, the answer is generally not because. The 14" shocks cause fitment Issues with swing arms contacting the exhaust.
      on 09-16 Trikes and Freewheelers you can run 13" shocks and 1-1/4" lift brackets on the Twin Cam machines.
      in 2017 with the M8 the exhaust and other changes shifted chassis items back a bit and the 13" and 1-1/4" brackets created an issue so we now offer a new bracket that raises the bike 5/8" and then you can add 13" shocks. Or you can purchase just 13.6" shocks which do the same thing.
      There are options so that depending on the stage of your upgrades you have something else to add.
      If you have nothing at all on a 17+ then we suggest 13.6" as that is most cost effective.
      If you have just the new 5/8" bracket you can pick up 13" shocks or just 13" shocks you can add the bracket. That way you don't have to scrap something to get something else.
      We hope this answers your questions, and please feel free to email service@legendsuspensions.com if you need any further details, we would be more than happy to help.

      @@LegendSuspensions Thank you very much. that's just the information that I need. I was just looking at your website. I see 3 that would apply. I'm on a fixed income so right off the bat, the $1K option is out. The other 2 appear identical. Can you comment on that, please? This will be my first trike install and it looks pretty straightforward except maybe measuring the sag. Sounds like I would have to remove the body for that ? Thanks, Bill.

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions  7 месяцев назад

      Bill,
      Sure thing. Off the bat the 13.6" Standard Revo would be the recommendation for the best bang and least out of pocket. There is essentially no need to get a 13" Revo and then add a bracket at additional cost, when someone can purchase the 13.6" Revo with the bracket length built in.
      The variation of options is only for if someone already had one or the other, so they do not have to scrap something to get the same thing.
      The difference between Revo and Revo-A is a 6-position rebound adjuster that changes the speed in which the shock extends after hitting a bump. The most common and most popular setting is setting 3.
      The Standard Revo without the dial is always on setting 3. Also, with having a freewheeler most of the time people do not want to take a knee or reach under the machine to adjust the dial later, making the "fixed" Revo a perfect option to be honest. Think of the Standard Revo not as a "downgraded model" but that setting 3 is so popular that we have an entire product line dedicated to it. All other built parameters are the same and no quality is skimped.
      In terms of suspension sag, it does make it easier to set the suspension sag if you expose the shocks and remove the trunk, however, we do have a video on how to set the suspension sag with removal of the wheels and a small pancake lift and a block of wood.

      We offer several rear suspension options for the Tri-Glide. AIR suspension as well as coil shocks.
      With this Lift kit you can use 13" coil or air suspension on Tri-Glide and freewheeler models before 2017.
      For 2017-2023 we recommend our 13.6" Revo or Revo-A we also offer this length in the AIR and AIR-A model as well, this 13.6" shock will not be used with a lift bracket.
      We also offer front drop in cartridge systems for the 3 wheelers as well. We recommend checking with a local shop or Dealership. We also have them listed at www.legendsuspensions.com

      This longer shock will raise the Trike without the use of a taller lift bracket.

    Are lift kits as important for a trike kit?

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions  8 месяцев назад

      It depends on the route you go during upgrades and what year of the trike.
      for 17+ Trikes we offer a Lift Kit and that can be a solo upgrade, you would then want either 13" Coil or AIR shocks.
      Or if you had 13" shocks you'd want just the lift kit.
      If you did not have any suspension upgrades then we make a 13.6" coil or AIR shock that essentially has the lift built in on those 17+ trikes.
      If you have a 09-16 Trike, then the 09-16 Trike Lift and 13" shocks are the way to go.
      You can lift 09-16 Trikes a little higher than 17+ due to clearance issues on the 17+.
      They are important in making the Trike ride better and handle better all around not matter which trike you have.
      We hope this answers your questions, if you have additional questions please feel free to email us at service@legendsuspensions.com and we would be happy to cover in further detail with you.
      Thank you.

      My trike kit is on a 1999 road king. It was installed by motor trike and does have air suspension as well as reverse. It seems to have been done with care and done to a high standard. Personally I'm satisfied with it and it's suspension. However, it's the 1st trike I've ridden and have my hands full making the adjustments. However, since I don't know good from bad I was wondering if it needs to have the suspension upgrade

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions  8 месяцев назад

      That is a tough call, it sounds like you have the Motor Trike Gladiator kit. They do not call out a specific suspension length on their site. It does unfortunately fall outside of our fitment range, as we only offer back to 2009 which is when Harley introduced the first official Tri-Glide models. Before that, they were conversions such as yours.
      They do appear to use somewhat stock mounting configurations but as for length it is not stated. There is a good chance aftermarket suspension would work but this would be a run at your own risk application as we do not offer a turnkey option for you.
      Depending on the age of the kit, suspension does need to be replaced after time, or at the very least rebuilt, so your ride could eventually deteriorate to a point where the shocks need to be replaced. Technology has come a long way so there might be some substantial upgrades on the market depending on the exact shocks you have on there now.
      We would recommend connecting with Motor Trike and ask them about your model to see if they offer a better suspension than what you currently have, or if they have a list of approved fitments, they know work.
