I was hesitant to go to three wheels but I did it so my wife can ride with me. We both enjoy our Trike and really don’t care about what others say. As long as we are having fun, that’s all that matters. I’m glad I listen to her cause I recently started having hip problems and now I need to have hip replacement surgery. Once I recover we are going to be back on the road having fun.

That is awesome that you can ride... and I totally agree that it does not matter what others think as long as we love what we are doing. Yes, three wheels keeps us out there. For me, I can go by myself without fear of dumping a two wheel and not be able to get it back up on my own.

I have about 58yrs under my Belt on two wheels, I am now going to be 76yrs on Nov 3,23 and I sold my last Bike 3 weeks ago and I feel like I just lost my soul! I have been thinking about 3 wheels and this thought is with me 24/7 I think I am just going to go for it and hope the good Lord gives me a few more good years of riding before I have to show up for his roll call, of which I fear NOT! First of all, thank you for the great videos.
I, too, am now switching to three wheels at the age of 67, with 43 years of Harley experience. I hope it won't be too difficult to get used to and that I'll still enjoy riding a Harley. My motivation is also the handling as I get older. The Limited just became too heavy for me, especially with a passenger. Now I'm looking forward to the next season on three wheels. I bought a 2014 Tri Glide with all the accessories. It looks like it's new from the store.

I have an Indian Challenger already and I just bought a 23 Tri-Glide Ultra. Picked it up yesterday. Got it for the same reason as others who’ve posted - to ride with my wife. She’s recovering from knee replacement surgery so it’ll be a few weeks before she can swing a leg over. Got the silver/gray model and am trying to come up with a decent name for her as well. Thanks for your videos. I’ve recently discovered your channel and have been trying to catch up 😁. Appreciate everything you put into your videos. I really like the part about saying a prayer every time you waive at another biker. That’s so awesome, I’ll need to start doing that myself. May God bless you and your family.

Wow, congratulations on the 23 Tri-Glide...so happy for you! Yep, after my husbands accident, I said NOPE to 2 wheels and would never ride with him again on one (and I used to own my own 2 wheels). The trike was such a great option. So comfortable and easy to relax on. It did not take me long to take it over though LOL... Yes, I am so glad @donniewieburg shared that about using the motorcycle wave to pray for others. Not quite sure why I never thought about that before; we all need prayer and especially those out on those crazy roads. Anyway, maybe we can start a thing with that.... spread the word. God bless you and safe riding out there!! Wish I could see pictures of that new Triglide of yours.

Thanks for your informative videos. This episode hit close to home, since I have made it to 71 years, I have lost strength in my legs and recently dropped my 2020 Heritage Classic twice in the same day. I had wrecked my Road Star back in 2016 and that made me start looking for lighter bikes since the Road Star weighed in at over 800#, hence the lighter Heritage. But because of the reduced strength and balance, I have recently been looking at trikes. I have ridden off and on since I was 14 and just can't give it up. I named my Heritage 'Mercy N Grace' because God brought me through my accident and I feel like God is always with me no matter what road I travel. Thank you and keep up the great videos.

Glad i ran across this video with the Rider's perspective. I'm in my early 70s and have been riding for 55 yrs both street and dirt. Due to some unexpected health issues I don't have the physical strength like before and slow/stopped balance challenges me especially with psgr. Been thinking of a trike (conversion) and hearing of both your positive outlooks is encouraging. I don't care what others think, rather how will I adapt to not counter-steering thru the twisties. Anyway good video. Just heard new HD trikes have a longer shock to give more working room to reduce solid axle bounce. My best. ALRider.

I am 37... Thinking of buying an RG3 or Freewheeler. I am new to riding (currently on CanAm Ryker to learn). The reason I prefer 3 wheels is because of the stability, the fact that I can be slightly more relaxed having my wife with me and I don't care about leaning. I just love the open world experience. I hate that so many bikers refer to three wheelers as something for people of the wise age or with any kind of disability.
I do think that trikes are awesome as any other bike.
I get waves from Harley Riders all the time, surprisingly more than from any other riders.

I do agree it takes a few to get use to 3, I did like the stability of the ride not having to worry about dropping it in very tight switch backs. But.. as I mentioned when we talked at Low Country I just didn't like the way it handled the bumps which your husband mentioned. That was after replacing the rear suspension on it, and probably could have done the front and see if that would have helped but I was already thinking of trading it in by then.

I enjoyed this video, especially for the chance to see the two bikes in different colors and on the road. I'm getting ready to buy a new Road Glide 3 and I'm still undecided about color. I don't like real flassy colors. I told myself I'd never buy a black vehicle after owning a couple and struggling to keep it scratch free. I really like your blue bike. The grey is nice but I think it's overdone with all these grey cars and trucks on the road. It seems to be a trendy color, but trendy colors get old with time. I don't think that blue will get old. And, it's a nice tone of blue - not too dark and not too light. Anyway, thanks for posting this video, and the photography was well done.

65 and been on two wheels since a teen riding dirt bikes then transitioning to street. Went to a 2021 Tri Glide for long and or 2 up riding due to breaking my ankle skydiving then a few years later had a heavey block of metal crush it. So it occasionally just gives out from time to time and the Ultra with my wife on it got to heavy to trust that my ankle wouldn’t give out. I do have an old Fat Boy for local solo riding. Enjoy your vids and NO SHAME IN HAVING A TRIKE! Watch some🎉 of the old Biker movies and the coolest rider has what.......a servi-car!

My wife and I have rode 45 years, Harleys mainly. We are 69. Have a 96 Road King which we bought new. Last couple of years, my left knee started to 'go out'. While riding the Road King at starts and stops, that was not good. We bought a new 2020 Tri-Glide Ultra and love it much. Yes, we still have our Road King, I take it out now and then. Thanks for your videos. Blessings.

She watched me drop my 2015 Ultra Limited Low a few times....Kinda scared her....Me too...I have a brother-in-law that has cancer. We have gone on a few rides together. Most recently the Tail of The Dragon, Diamondback with the Devils Whip. God Bless Him as we have no idea how much longer he will be able to ride or be with us. He rides a ryker now that he was forced into selling his Classic, that in no way shape or form fits him...he is 6 feet 6 inches tall....I am 6 even.....Really looking hard at getting us both a Road Glide 3.....In Your Humble Opinion..or Chucks...would the Road Glide 3 fit either of us ? Every time I go to the Harley dealer, the Road Glide 3 is sold and gone...lol...must be a good bike.

I think this RG3 is a great sporty looking motorcycle and rides great. Sorry for the late reply (I just got home from a 16 days trip on the RG3...it was awesome). As far as how it would fit someone 6ft 6 in...I will try to find someone that tall and ask them if they would sit on my motorcycle to see if it would fit. Maybe a tall boy seat and road pegs so you could stretch your legs would be great. I find I have to lean forward a little, so if I had longer arms I would not have to do that. I hope this helps. Thanks so much for watching.

I’ve had four or five tri glides and one free wheeler. I felt the free wheeler was kind of Squirrley at high speed and I’m thinking that these new trikes such as yours would probably be the same way. I’ve been looking at one of these, but it’s way out of my price range and a deck it out the way you have is financially impossible for me, good luck with your new ride

I I loved my trig glides of course. But I do love the look of the RG three. It rides just as well as the tri glides in my opinion. I have never ridden a freewheeler. And yes, those prices are ridiculous. I’m disappointed in Harley for making them so expensive. Thank you so much for commenting and sharing your thoughts.

I went from a 2 wheel to 3 with a 2016 Tridglide and then later to a 2022 Triglide. The trike is ok for a short ride or a 90 minute ride on the freeway, but longer rides or rides with lots of curves leave me with neck and shoulder pain. I have stock handlebars and been planning to get taller ones. The bars are inexpensive but the installation is not. The buzz is that the stock road glide 3 is "much" lighter steering than the stock triglide. I'm unsure if it is that much different, "Over the years I have purchsed many golf clubs promising increased driving distance. At this point if the claims were true I should be hitting my driver over 300 yards and always straight......not happening." You found considerable different results in switching the handlebars, but what what about the trikes? I like the storage room on the triglide but would give it up if there was that much steering improvement on the Road glide 3,...your thoughts?

    • @MidLifeStyleTwins
      @MidLifeStyleTwins  Год назад

Sadly, the installation is costly...wish I knew how to do more work on the motorcycle myself to save money.
I think the RG3 and the independent steering (from the fearing) is easier to handle. I am not sure if there is that big a difference in how it handles from a should/neck standpoint though. I rode 4100 miles in 16 days on this motorcycle in September and and had no neck or back pain. I am 57 years old and sometimes have back/neck pain though not horribly bad, but I cannot say I suffered at all on either of my long distance trips this year. I hope this helps.
