OMG!!! This story sound similar to mine on how I felt in love to being an urologist. I always thought I would do peds but on my surgery rotation they assign me to an urology attending, and it literally took two cases in the OR and a day in the outpatient clinic to fell in love. Applying to the 2023 Match!!!!

Great video Dr. Malik. What is the most surgery-heavy urological subspecialty? Which urological subspecialty is the most challenging?

With it being a relatively smaller specialty, what would you recommend for an MS1/MS2 to do to get involved with only a couple urology faculty in the surgery department? Currently just trying to do well with classes but I know I should be looking to get involved with urologic research as well, so I’d love any advice you could give!

Your videos are so cool and very inspiring for me at the moment. First time follower of yours on RUclips and Facebook etc.
I was going through alot and your videos had made a difference in my life. I wish there where doctors like u here in nsw Australia where I am.
    This is my story:
2 months ago on the way home my car almost got flipped over as my left side of car wheel etc got destroyed and was hard to control my car and from that day my lower back been hurting alot what's worse is below my lower back I have a wound that been bleeding called pilinidal sinus for 2 years now but was due for surgery but due to the corona thing was canceled .
Doctor says no surgery needed but the wound will take 1 year for heal that'd 3 years I have this problem now. The reason for this hospital refused to do the surgery and over time blood became worse went to hospital crying in 2019 telling them I need the surgery and they refused and had to come home.
Due to the corona thing most of my specialist asked me to come see them for a heart check to ent sinuses I had since 2014 to colonscope endoscope but I want to wait until this corona thing is gone until I go see them to make sure its safe.
It will be 4 years since my black cat passed away at old age this year in December and his best friend who passed away in 2018 it will l be 2 years since she passed after she was killed by someone who lured her out from her bed and I was crying 😢 both best friends buried together with my other pets in same grave.
At the moment have the lower back pain under that is my wound thats been bleeding and the wound got deeper thats why I do the daily dressings my surgery got postponed to next year that will be 3 years due to the corona outbreak here in Australia went into lockdown.
when I went to doctor he said mohd u need to see the specialist to do your surgery so it can stop the blood since there is now 3 total holes since a new one surfaced few days ago even though the nurse puts pressure on it i believe that caused it.
Had to take my acid reflex medication again as I was sick all day in bed. 4 things at one time lower back pain to the bleeding to the hameroids to acid reflux no good though.
I did call the specialists and hospital they said u have to wait as we told u few months back there nothing we can do it can happen next year for surgery so that's 3 years now had this problem plus I rather howl this on my own since this corona virus can strike anytime and I don't Anna be in hospital when I do have surgery and all of a sudden patients got affected and they keep me there for weeks and I said to my mum there no point in calling specialist etc I rather just heal it my self these past few months it heals then bleeds etc. If I can manage to loose my weight eat healthy etc it should heal on its own and there no point in stressing to much over this as I can manage it on my own.
I was ok yesterday but I think I had smoke chili sauce to those nexba probitoitc water drinks that could explain why give been sick all day. Even my arms of dark red spots what ever I eat it comes on red even the heat affects it. Doctors does not know what causing it.
Have to see a allergy specialists to see why those red dark spots are always there on my arms what ever I eat etc I get a bad reaction like in allergic to something I don't know of 😱
to sinus specialist to see optometrist to get new glasses etc
I also got a urainry tract infection on antibiotics for it.
My cat miss smurf died while I was recovering from pneumonia in 2018 which took 1 year recovery. My story u will love. When I had pneumonia 2 weeks in hospital 24hours oxygen tank 1 year recovery my cats did come from the afterlife and made there presence.
Mr tingles and miss smirf were homeless. I took miss smirf in 2014 and Mr tingles showed up at my doorstep in 2015.
When we were watching TV we thought someone was outside at midnight everyone in my household freaked out ten looked through window saw tingles talking to something or someone's or maybe he was talking to a spirit Mr tingles.
He would scare othe neighbours qt night one day was sitting we heard someone twlking outside we freaked out saw through window it wqs mr tingles talking either to him self or something i could even here him talking from neighbours houwe even the neighbours screamed when they heard someone talking outside i said it was my mr tingles.
Mr tingles was not desexed until I got him so there could be more sons or daughters he has.
Just imagine he had a chucky women like child voice and hearing that caused neighbours to freak out 😃
He would call me momma come play after knocking on the door or window demanded me to time to him. He khew human language so he understood what I was saying.
He would guard his best friend miss smirf 24hours even while she was sleeping.
When he passed away he gave me a gift. When I was in backyard at his grave with my tabby watching his grave not moving at all Mr tingles gave me a bump like he did when he was alive like he khew I needed this from that night in 2016 I can see sense spirits of cats etc it was a gift from him.
But he showed up the week miss smirf died in 2018 August he khew she was gonna pass away.
Then on 29th july at 450am this happened:
Around 4:50am this morning i heard someone talking like mr tingles outside saying hello thrn 30sec later hello again. Its either mr tingles sice he did have a child like women voice when he cslled me momma come play during midnight or its his offspring his son or daughter thwt comes to my house every night.
I belive its him since the voice did resemble him i looked outside did notice my cat miss smirf looking at something then realised its him he must have come from afterlife and popped by to say hello to miss smirf and hes proberly still around or something.
I always see my miss smirf tabby cat starring at something not moving then i realised it must be mr tingles shes interacting with.
He came from the afterlife to accompany her since he loved her very much. Then I burried her with Mr tingles.
Mr tingles miss smirf and Mr tinkles made there presence last night I was asleep woke up I couldn't move at all in my bed something was hugging me and I tried moving my arm back but was to strong then I felt there purr on my bed 😃
I guess u can say they are still around.
Tuesday 2018 Tuesday had pneumonia went to hospital they did x-rays etc sent me home they said your fine Saturday got phone call urgent go back to hospital doctor was very angry as they said u have life threatening pneumonia 2 weeks hospital stay 24hours oxygen tank could not walk talk nothing for 2 weeks 1 year recovery while recovering I had shingles to virus then went hyperthyroid because of the pneumonia I went to gastrologist to e endecronologist to chiropractor to ent.
The hospital thought I made things up on Tuesday but Saturday had pneumonia but they didn't say anything.
1 year recovery had so many blood tests lungs were very bad. Doctors thought I had some problems and told me to go to other doctors for tests.
This what pneumonia and hyperthryoid did:
    Went hyperthyroid for thyroid issues
    Physiotherapist/Chiropractor
. for stiff neck back spine and back arm nerve pain both wrists inflamed as well as feet
    Accupunture/Chinese
    . sinus cupping needling
    . Inflamed wrists
    . massage
    Natropathy
. treats sinus and diet changes
    Ent:
    . sinus issues
    . lyranx swallon
    . acid reflux
    . allergies food allergies
    Heart Spealist:
    . heart beating
    . Pneumonia
. see due to hyperthryoid and pneumonia
    Nurologist:
. nerve pain due to neck pain tingling in hands feet fingers
What was shocking is a Nurologist did a MRI of my neck and found nothing and when I went to my chiropractor he sent me somewhere to do a MRI and chef found neck was tilted etc I was like shocked. Ent found i had things I didn't know about for 6 months all due to pneumonia and hospital failing to tell me I had pneumonia on Tuesday.
Your videos made a difference in my life and thanks for keeping videos on Yoruba etc.
    God bless you.
    Mohd (Mr Leon the smirf)

I have subscribed because of your react vids! I do have a question though about urology..
I once had an ultrasound of my scrotum and I became erect- the urologist was actually female and as you can imagine I’m more than embarrassed to go back for another one now even though they said it was a normal reaction and I really should have a follow up ultrasound done and I’ve been putting it off and putting it off because of the previous embarrassment.
IS this really a normal reaction? Because it sure didn’t seem normal.. felt kind of like a deviant leaving the office! :/

I'm getting kidney stone removed April 29th this year at Mary Immaculate here in Newport News Virginia a Ureteroscopy with the Holmium Laser under the care of Dr Ani with TPMG. After watching these videos and reading everyone's description of pain, etc makes me wonder if the way the patient is being treated during the procedure is causing the pain post surgery later. I have a Tic Tok video and talk about this exactly. When watching this video, observe how the doctor rushes while shoving the guide wire, etc quickly down the urethra very quickly. I have watched other videos with doctors from India saying to carefully and slowly push the guide wire down the urethra not to damage the urethra lining. You think these doctors that are pushing pretty quickly these quide wires down the urethra would want another doctor to do the same to them, heck no !! I'm not a betting man but after hearing why so many patients are having pain, etc, I'm betting this could be one reason. There doctor is rushing this procedure perhaps to get to another surgery hours later, or insurance time allocated reasons, or this is how he or she was trained. I'm not sure what the reason is but to reduce costs the more time you allocate for the patient that day for surgery reduces future costs on insurance companies if it's done in a way where the doctor doesn't appear to be rushed possibly causing damage to someone's urethra or something similar in nature. In other other words, they say the surgery can be on average from RUclips research from 45 min to 3 hours at most. Would you want a 45 min procedure after seeing how fast this doctor rushes the guide wire down your urethra possibly causing you major discomfort and pain later. Or, would you want a 2 hour surgery where the surgeon carefully and slowly guides the guide wire down your urethra in which your discomfort and pain is much, much less during recovery after surgery. It's food for thought !! All I know is on April 29th I want Dr Ani to do door number 2 on me so that is exactly what my pain and discomfort is !! You are paying the bill at the end and should get what you pay for, eehh?? Just like anything else in life, right, when it comes to the bill ? The customer is always right, right ? Please don't comment, " Well, I don't want my doctor on his feet for so many hours taking that amount of time causing him to be tired, etc ! If your doctor can't stay on his feet for a certain amount of hours for surgery, he shouldn't be doing this in the 1st place. He needs to clock out and go home and look for another profession. ER doctors do this everyday and know that is what comes with the job. That's why ER doctors, your Urologist, make very good money because of the stress of the job and the hours of work that goes into, including the hours of surgery. I'm blessed to have very good doctors with TPMG thus far!. My GP, Dr Palumbo and Urologist, Dr Ani have been excellent so far and I hope they keep staying this way. I hope my long review helped and informed those of my opinion and I hope my procedure is nowhere close to what I've been reading come April 29th,2022 at Mary Immaculate in Newport News, Virginia. Have a great day everyone and hope all of you going through this has or is recovering well !!

Hi. I messaged you a couple weeks ago about asking for advice on recovery from stress incontinence from a spine injury. I am designing a free web-based, open source distributed tool to track progress and exercise. I was wondering of you could recommend any other metrics? I include overnight leakage and bladder capacity, daily fluid intake, catheterizing, urine quality, and leakage, minutes walking, number of squats, kegel contraction length and quantity and number of workouts, notes for the day and daily overview. Suggestions? Also, would such a tool be interesting to you for your patients? I am designing it for multiple accounts and making sure it's secure for HIPPA sake.

May I ask what it was that when you first saw the job description for becoming a urologist, made you think "Yup, studying and handling vials of pee, I like the sound of that. Better apply!"?
I'm genuinely curious. Not that I'm judging you negatively for it, of course. But I imagine you have to be a certain type of person to do a job like that.

Urology is apparently THE MOST USELESS area of the medicine because all you guys can tell us men is to look for a psychologist to accept our small penises. It's incredible how in 2021 there's no safe treatment for men's penises enlargement. How can you guys still not mastering the men's body after decades of studies??? Sorry but urologists need to get much better in their studies and researches. We men still UNHAPPY about what you guys can offer us.
