I love my Gen Y torsion. Worth every penny. Overbuilt and over engineered. A while back I had the grease nipple go missing. Contacted the manufacturer and they shipped me a replacement nipple.
Good video. I have a B&W adjustable hitch. I noticed the other day I’m having hard time removing it from my trucks receiver… because it’s got some slight wear from the excessive weight… this is a really important detail people over look. These trucks are made to haul so much more weight. However I constantly see them with light weight hitches…
Bro when you decide to upgrade again, get the gen y torsion flex. Thats what im currently running and it’s a night & day difference for light & heavy weight!!!
Man, that's awesome!!! I was actually going to buy that one but couldn't afford the cost at the moment. But for my next hitch, that's what I will be going with 👌
Man thats an awesome hitch, i had a 2 inch 16k on old truck back in the day. When i started my business with my 05 ram i was able to use it and then used the same hitch on my 22 ram but had to use the reducer sleeve. I actually just upgraded my self maybe a month ago to the Shocker Air Ride 20K hitch. Its in one of my shorts on my page.
@ absolutely love it, can’t even tell that the trailer is there. The Gen y i could feel more of the movement and anytime i hit a bump. I was between the shocker and the torsion flex. But the shocker had better reviews.
At the end of the video, I noticed the safety chains were upside down. It's very important to hook them from the bottom up, to avoid tip loading the hooks in an emergency.
I use the 1400ft pound impact from milwaukee that won't give you any problems lift that up. I broke that same drill from milwaukee 18 fuel brushless to drill through 6x6 post. Looks like a 16mm socket should fit on that
You're gonna have to eventually get nuts and bolts for that jack up fit. Mine lasted about a month than the pin that came with it busted. But I also use my 3/4 impact on them.
Just remember the farther your ball is from the hitch the more leverage you put on the frame and suspension but it looks beefy for an adjustable hitch 💪
okay sorry for wronch tip i say with the hammer wrench,i did not use by my self but hear it,but it is so wrong, now i know it,be happy that it works now,so you can use it on all trailers nice, the small hole in hitch can you not drill out for bigger bolts, because the weight on it comes with small bolt maybe can broke
I like that hitch ive had the Reese adjustable and like you i have the slop in the receiver and hate it. I have been looking at reviews but do like the GenY. I might look into that one, where did you order it from? I also have a goosbeck in my shop ive yet to install.
I ordered it directly off their website on black friday they had a 20% off but still had to pay shipping unfortunately. Amazon might have free shipping on it 🤷♂️
Didn't catch the hitches deal had pinto hitch on 550 ford and the hitch broke away from the frame pulling a chipper at the time had to just slow down slowly and keep control watch mirrors to keep in line took truck to get replaced and had a recall on the hitches bad steel they said got down time during repairs
How do you grease your telescopic trailer lift part? I mean right there behind the toolbox I have a prospector 7 x 14 trailer and I can’t seem to figure out how to grease that one. Grease ball.
@JackofHaulTrades the us government is trying to have me switch to electric by 2030 nah not gonna happen I'll let the peace of trash burn to the ground in my house driveway if that ever happens that's why I rather pay out the ass to update my diesel and gas engines
Thats a heavy duty hitch for sure , so ur saying you gotta have some more muscles to get a good grip on the drill to use it on the lift jack adapter 🤣 💪💪💪
I dont know about in Ga., But if you were out in that left lane where i live the cops would be a lot less concerned about your speed but pulling a trailer in the high speed lane is a huge No No! LOL!
Nope never greased a ball before. I’m not sure why you’d need to. I’ve pulled trailers for 40 years and never had any issues. They’ll wear out eventually no matter what. I guess I’ll start putting grease on my balls from now on out 😂. Excellent video buddy!
@gregorywisnasky7547 That's good to know because before I heard of GEN-Y, I was going to buy a B&W bumper pull hitch. I bought b&w for the gooseneck ball because it's a direct fit for the factory RAM holes in my bed
Will your locks work on the hitch and if you have pinto hitch square pipe think your stuff pretty secure my friend just watch hammer drill best the hell out of it will get back to this hospital called got to go
The numbers on the drill aren’t speed it’s torque. Example 1 = 5 foot pounds of torque….once it hits 5ftlb of torque the clutch slips and won’t go tighter, on 5 it might be 50 foot pounds torque, on 10= 75, and 18 is max maybe 200 ft pounds. You also don’t want to use a lower setting and letting the clutch slip and making that clicking noise as the clutch wears down. One way to look at the numbers on the drill collar…let’s say you reinstalling the back cover on the dryer and putting the screws in. On #1 setting it will make it snug before the clutch slips, on 18 setting it would have enough torque to strip the threads off.
Thank you for sharing! Glad you are enjoying your new hitch. Safe travels!
I should be pretty safe with this hitch! 😂💪

I just looked up the gen y torsion flex. That's like $1k right? Does it have some sort of built in shock absorption?
torsion flex? I bet that was costly but I bet that is top of the line hitch! Hitches are costly, even just regular hitches are expensive
Loved the video.
