This is so misleading! Heelers are exceptionally bright; they can (and should) have a very high prey drive and make very efficient ratting dogs; they are renowned in Lancashire for being excellent guard dogs and are very vocal indeed. Many are also (as you should expect from a farm yard dog) very stimulated by movement and enjoy keeping other animals, humans included, on the move, by nipping if required! This is why socialisation and training are absolutely vital. They do make wonderful pets, but you must be prepared to put the work in. As in all breeds, there are more laid-back lines and more 'average' lines, so proper (face-to-face) research is vital.
🤦♀️ Claiming that the swedish vallhund aint intelligent is sooooo wrong. Its a HIGLY intelligent breed. And they usually shred 2 times a year and need a brush once in a while , bathing only when they get dirty or been rolling around in yacky stuff. So the grooming need is almost non existent. Its not a breed that is barking alot. They falsley have the reputation that they do but its for most individuals just not true. They do talk alot but not bark. Might been better to compare with a corgi as they are related far far back with SV. The popularity part is low as they are a small breed number wise and almost went extinct. But it aint many breeds out there that has its origin from the viking age. Classify it under pure working dog area is a bit wrong as it should be under ancient times breeds as we have it in sweden along with a number if other breeds.
I have a heeler girl and been thinking of getting her a baby brother from a vallhund
