The dawn of Woolie the Race Traitor, and the first time I've heard the term "cascade failure". This was a gem of an LP. Because of this, I picked up X-COM 2 and decided to play it on easy, thinking it would be more manageable while offering a challenge. EVEN ON EASY IT'S NERVE-WRACKING, ALL YOU GET ARE A HANDFUL OF EXTRA CHANCES FOR FUCK-UPS, COMPARED TO COMMANDER MODE WHERE YOU CANNOT FUCK UP. Fuck Dark Souls, X-COM should be the gold standard of brutal difficulty.
Same as you. Their LP inspired me to try it out. I find myself doing real strategizing even on rookie difficulty, and each decision has a real chance of killing my team members. I’ve never had so much fun shitting myself constantly. 👽
If you enjoy getting shafted by rng, sure. Dark souls has comparatively very little rng, in xcom you live and die by the dice. Pat was consistently doing bad decisions, though, he was literally rolling the dice wrong.
The playthrough where I realized that Woolie would *totally* sell out to genocidal aliens if they promised him cool tech (they won't let him live long enough to use it).
Woolie ignoring how the aliens are going to liquefy the human race to extend the elders lifespans because he *might* get superpowers before that happens is kinda aggrivating. I love the concept of ironman XCOM, but I could never play them, it's the whole failure cascade thing that makes it difficult for me to get into. You fuck up a shot (which is a percentage chance and out of your hands) and suddenly your party starts panicking and you can't rally from that.
"Losing means you shouldn't have tried" is a quote that has lived in my head since this LP.
Ahhh yes, the Cascade Failure LP. Delectable.
I've lost count of the amount of times I've watched this Let's Play, and it still never fails to make me laugh 😂
I forgot just how quickly Woolie turned race traitor, it’s immediate.
The moment he says "sick" it was all over
he did long ago by marrying a white girl
Green Guard Woolie denouncing his parents at the Xeno struggle session for extra jetpack fuel.
It's great seeing ALL of these posted at one time, even if you only had to do this because of YT bullshit. Made me so happy this morning.

"Sectoids first"
The moment we all knew Pat had no idea what he was doing.

Greatest moment in LP history
That’s Xcom for ya!

I'm not sure if he also realizes he could just get superpowers by joining X-COM, and they won't INTENTIONALLY liquefy him without a very good reason.
@@JackgarPrimehe never played enemy within where you get gene augments and mech enhancements. Man what a good game.
I FORGOT ABOUT BABATUNDE LMFAOOOO
The Wind of Africa
Babytunde
MISION FAILED - NO SURVIVORS
"That could have gone a lot worse."
I’d betray the human race for snake alien :)
