About time Mercedes reminds me of the old GLK. They should’ve never quit making the glk
You can always go for a GLC. That is the GLK replacement. Loved the look of the GLK though.
Yes! I love the boxy angles of the GLK. Can't bring myself to get a GLC but am now looking at the GLB as a suitable replacement.
AGREED.
Harrison Hays same! I loved the boxy GLK but want a newer model with all the new tech so I’m eyeing the GLB for sure!
@@AboutIssa I bought the GLK but updated the media interface
www.carnaviplayer.com/mercedes-benz-glk-x204-2008-2015-radio-upgrade-p-172
And updated the headlights. For me it's the best of both worlds.

Actual handwritten notes, on paper, in a pocket notebook?! Two enthusiastic thumbs up for keeping things Old Skool!! 👍🏽👍🏽😃😃😃👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😁😁😁
This looks more like a Mercedes GLK type of replacement
No, that's the GLC
Damilola Akanni he’s right up looks like a GLK replacement...
Definitely bro
The GLC 300 is the GLK replacement.
The GLB is in the lineup because the GLA was a flop, the GLK successor is 100% the GLC.
You lost me at $57,000.
Same here, especially when it is assembled in Mexico with the accompanying labor costs.
They start at 36k and most sell for about 41k to 45k from the dealer
Starts at 36,000, this one is a great family hauler with a lot of tech for the money.
I rather buy a used gls and use the savings for gas
Sweet Jesus, you guys are on a roll...Keep up the good work !
Yes! Found the replacement to my GLK250, which I really love!!
$57,000 as tested, Hmm, I wonder if you get a steering wheel for the $36,000 starting price. But it is a lovely vehicle. Very good review tho.
Would you buy or lease in the mid 40k range?
What about it being optioned into the 40's do you buy it or lease it at that price?
Roman, how does this compare with a fully-optioned Tiguan?
Hiya. Great review different from the normal. Nice car and engine size. Thank you
The microphone you guys are using for your last few videos the audio levels are very low
I'm mildly surprised they didn't pass any pink jeeps on those trails. That's a pretty good tour if you're ever in the Sedona area looking for something to do.
Where was this filmed? Stunning views.
It’s the Kia Soul / Renegade Benz. It will sell well
Comparable to xc40?
did u get a new camera because the last to videos u put up i can barely hear u and all my volume settings are maxed out
Good review. Looking forward to a more detailed one. Of course that's the issue with German cars. After 2 checks of the option box, your MSRP rockets from $38K to $58K...😳🤣😏
Mister Methuselah 😂😂😂I know
yeap, count with up to 40% of total cost. It is mad 🤑
German luxury cars have a low base price to sucker you into the car. But you have to add in the options to make it an useable car!
Thanks You thank You Thank You for giving us a good take on the GLB ...... What is very important though is to know just how many features the MBUX touch screen offers and how well it responds to input and ease of use ..... which sadly was missing ..... very nice first take although I am not concerned about its off road Chops ..... as much as city and highway performance....... I would watch any follow up with interest...... Thanks.
Does it tow?
Looks good on you 🙂
I prefer the GLB 220 d but the GLB in general is a solid vehicle.
Nice car Roman...I like the buddy reviews.🏁😁🏁😁 ..I like the boxy style G wagon...I think its AMG model...I'm not real sure.🤔
please fix the sound, can barely hear you
What is the name of the color on the reviewed car?
Constructive criticism here, the volume level was a little low on this one. Great content as always though boys! Love the tfl crew!
what’s the paint color?
Cough Cough, 57 grand, shhheeesshhh
Daytona 392 starts at 36k
@Ghostmofo Not into Dodge Journey, but I do own a 2018 widebody Hellcat.
What color is this please help me out
That clearance is low, whet is it?
Doesn't necessarily need a lift. Air suspension IS an option (@ least when I spec'd one last night) that should give an extra inch or 3
We will see a lot of these on the road
This or the Q3?
The best backseat tester in the world with 6.2 ft 🎖
Is this to compete with the Jeep Renegade??
They should turn this into a defender competitor by throwing in an extreme offroad package with locking diffs and possibly an air suspension.
If you could only have one vehicle that is good looking, roomy, can carry your stuff, has a prestigious badge, AWD, good performance, plenty of safety tech, pleasant to be around, and is fairly affordable, these loaded are right at $50k, this is a great choice for one do-it-all vehicle.
0-60 in 6.9 seconds
Glb owners: *intensifying dab*
Wait it has a 3rd row??? I thought this was a GLA replacement or a GLA and a GLC in between and the GLC doesn’t have. a third row it’s confusing cause I thought this was a subcompact crossover and like the VW Tiguan it has a 3rd row and the Land Rover discovery sport has a 3rd row as on option too. I honestly want to know what SUV is this replacing the GLA? Or just new to the category but the main thing that puts me off guard is that this has a option of a 3rd row and all the competitors don’t have a 3rd row as an option and nether does the GLC so?
Love the new GLB 😀
If I had the option to choose this over the GLC I got last year I would certainly go with the GLB. I like the 3rd row and the newer spec. Boot is also larger which I need for my golf clubs and family travel
Yes!!! I am your buddy!!
But... I would forget it. No wow factor.
Serious lens flare issues in that sun.
Exterior color?
speak up dude... we can't hear you...Tommy put the hood on the lens so you don't get the glare from the sun...
I think they filmed it quickly with a phone.
@@lapamful could be...
Baby GLS right?
Wassup with the volume?
For a $36K vehicle it has $21K additional worth of options? That's almost 2/3 of the base price.
Standard Operating Procedure at M-B.
@@dchawk81 most German cars are the same way it appears.
@@tmwei396 Yeah it's kinda skeezy if you ask me.
That’s why I’m replacing my C43 with Tesla Model 3. They nickel and dime you everywhere.
@@voycodin5042 I checked out Tesla and they're no different which was why I cancelled my Model 3. One day the standard no cost color was black and if you wanted white it's $1500. Next day the standard color is now white and black is $1500. The cost is all arbitrary and random. It doesn't cost them any more money to paint them in most colors. It's all just a money grab.
Please fix the sound it's too low.
What happened to the sound?
This is the defender I wanted
People take their Prius up that road 😂
IDK what happen to your microphone setup, but your recent videos are about 1/2 or less volume of the old ones and have bit muffled tone to it
Much nicer styling of this then Gwagen for me, i would maybe give this 2" lift if i would have use it off road regulary
I’ll wait on the AMG model
Really enjoy your various reviews, but two questions: (1) why on a automatic control is forward back and reverse forward, (2) why do we pay more in pounds for every vehicle than Americans do for the same car in dollars. Put the youngster on it. Thanks
We took the GLB out for a test drive this past weekend. We also drove the Hyundai Palisade. Personally, I found the Palisade too big for me. I like the room, but I don’t feel comfortable driving huge SUVs. We also have an elderly parent living with us. So the height of the vehicle has to be taken into account. I think the GLB checked off all the items on my list. First, the car does not feel like a big SUV. Second, it’s the right height- you don’t have to climb into the car. Third, I have a short reach (not tall person) and not having to lean forward to access the touch screen was a big plus. MB offers (standard) a kind of mouse pad right were your right and rests. So I can access everything without having to move from my driving position at all. MB also offers like a Siri OS for the car. So you can do a lot of things via voice commands. Fourth, the 3rd row seat option means you don’t have to get into a larger SUV in order to get extra seating. I felt comfortable driving it and I though the handling and shift transitions were very smooth. I think MB did a great job with this vehicle and we’ll be leasing the GLB within the next couple of weeks.
This directly compete with GLC why did they make this car?
what is up with the audio?
It's not in the same class, but the cx5 signature is a way better value. Yea, it doesn't have all the tech or the sunroofs or whatever, but fully loaded its pretty damn nice and comes in fully loaded at the starting price as this thing. Plus it has much more power and will be much more reliable long term.
@mike a absolutely. All these luxury brands do that. Horrendous piles of shit after the warrenty ends and appalling resale. But hey, in todays culture of ultimate dispose-ability, it fits in perfectly
I went car shopping with my mom(which she hates doing)we test drove both and the Mercedes was a huge improvement over the cx5
Isn’t the G Wagen 4x4 the only off reader
Where’s the extra tire?
Price is just right!
That is an AMG line package, so without or and a few other unnecessary options, it should be closer to 45k
Skipping the AMG package, you can get a fairly well equipped GLB with all the safety tech, big digital dash, sunroof and more for $45k to $48k
A Crown Vic probably has better ground clearance than this offroad mode equipped crossover.
Nice one. The steering wheel is way too small though. Looks funny.
John Grytbakk .. I was thinking 🤔 the same thing . Somewhat like a toy. Mercedes dropped them ball with this one 🤔
Audio volume was low. Use a proper camera to avoid glare.
Much better vehicle than the CL250. I would lease this over that. These prices are too tall for buying. Btw, your volumes have been below the normal in AZ for some reason. Nonetheless, thanks for bringing us these reviews.
Sold!
He looks cramped in the driver seat. Exactly how I felt when I've ridden in a GLK.
Might be a good review but when you can’t hear a thing I don’t watch it. What’s going on with your audio??
Roman, I think you're wrong about that thing ever becoming a serious off-roader. It's a GLA with a bigger greenhouse.
There is a 2nd german offroader, the VW Amarok.
Stefan Falldorf not in the US...
@@gavincolgan1827 in Canada neither but almost in the rest of the world. But it sounded like the only german true offroader. I don't even like the Amarok but Roman wasn't far away from the mexican boarder and there he could purchase a VW Amarok.
Roman, I do not usually have audio issues with your videos, but of late the volume is at times so low that even my purring cat can drowned you out and I have to resort to closed captions to see what you are saying. If you would troubleshoot that annoyance it would be appreciated. Thanks
I love the size, the function, and aesthetic of this car. Too bad it’s a Mercedes.
Sound is so low :-(
Assembled in Mexico, German motor and transmission.
Ya except for the European ones
Wow I knew Mercedes-Benz had a partnership thing with Nissan but didn’t know that they were gonna make a Benz based off the Nissan Cube because that is all this looks like
I’m concerned about the third row is to close to the back door you get rear ended and all you can do is pray that nothing bad happens, is a safety issue for me
Don't call me buddy, guy.
Also, I can't hear you.
LOL!
I agree, can't hear him. After so many YT postings you think they got the sound figured out by now...
This looks like a really nice $36k car... but it looks like a horrible $57k car
Jessa Phillips Without the AMG line it's less expensive. It's all about how you configure it & how much you're willing to spend on it
Did he say it is the same size as the Suburban?
time stamps help
No
Pretty sure he said Subaru Forester
I like these class of vehicles and I am slightly taller the Doug Demuro
objecto? Cool I wanna get one so I can lift it.
Seems like a lot of glare on the dashboard. Otherwise it’s a great looking machine.
Another one for those that don't know anything about cars. Simple, has the right badge, not intimidating in any way. Nice, comfortable interior. But ultimately forgettable.
please, point the lack of a full size spare wheel. Cutting weight it's not a good excuse. Tirefit kits don't work well and a space saver is also not a reliable solution as the range is limited as well.
At least give me the choice to tick it as an option. Or leave room in the trunk for one and I'll buy one full size wheel myself
AMG! AMG! AMG!
Yeah can barely hear you
I'm not a big fan of the way the dash and such looks. I do like the exterior design and cargo area though. Guess I'm not a big fan of what Roman claims is a modern interior. For some reason I find alot of what Roman call's modern to be unattractive. Other than that I can see some good things about it.
I'll buy it used after lease and half the price
221 hp + 258 ft-lbs = 57K (as tested)? That’s the only thing comparable between the GLB & G Wagon is the ridiculous price 🤣🤣
It is a mini GLS!
How much they upcharge for just having a Mercedes badge on it? Probably tons $$$; Je! Plus it looks like your off roading a station wagon, youre were about to break it apart. 😟
It is not an E class it is a B class Mercedes!
Honestly, I think I’d rather buy a Kia telluride and save the money. Probably would drive as good with a few mods, if not better.
We just ordered the top of the line Kia for 50k...gonna take 3-5 months to arrive. 👍🏻
The Kia telluride is very nice and all but feels like crap when you hit bumps. I think the reason behind it is their factory tires. Change that and you’ll probably get a better ride.
Adrian Guzman Hyundai/Kia are great cars they usually put crap tires on them though. I saw the potential, and I bought a 2.0t sonata which had the most awful tires I’ve ever driven on. I put Michelin PS on them, along with a strut tower bar, and a rear subframe brace. Handles like a dream and drives better than the C-Class and 328i I test drove as well, and I get more features. I test drove a Genesis g70 3.3T recently, and it just felt like a smaller, lighter, and a AWD version of my car, but it didn’t feel all that different except for the speed of course. People would be surprised as to how slight modifications can make all the difference.
@@gavincolgan1827 more features doesn't mean better though. Maybe you'll get a parking camera in the Hyundai for example but it'll be the worst quality one they have. With German cars you pay for the option but they use the best.
SDav21 Did i say the features make it better? And actually no, the camera in new Hyundai and Kia products is great. It IS better than I’ve seen in some German cars.
I’m a fan of the channel. That being said, there was very little effort put into this review. I realize you had a limited amount of time and event sponsored by the manufacture. You probably should’ve just waited until you have the car.
The fake duel exhaust ports in the back & the fake carbon fiber panels is an absolute travesty for a Mercedes Benz vehicle.
Replacement for the GLK? Probably. But this does not look like a GLK at all. More like a GLS.
I want a GLB 45 with the new engine ... Please build it AMG
Great looking SUV, but for that price, I'd buy a slightly used Macan S instead.
I'd buy a used anything in place of this.
You look like you’re sitting in a pickup truck. Does it feel like you’re sitting on it instead of on it? That’s my only concern, otherwise that thing is brilliant.
