Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! Hope you all are having a relaxing day with your loved ones :) Some of you may notice the audio isn't perfect in this video, that's because another cable broke during filming and there was no time to reshoot. The interior first person scene was a voiceover that Sofyan had to film after we had left the program. This time, we didn't just replace the faulty mic cable, but Santa came early for us and we replaced our entire wireless mic system with a setup that doesn't use a cable like the old setup. Hopefully, audio issues will now be a thing of the past but thank you guys for understanding!
Merry Christmas! Just a heads up my local Mercedes dealer in Boston already has quite a few of them in the showroom. I'm pleasantly surprised with the car, but for me I wished there were less hard plastics. Though understandably they're at the bottom of the doors for better durability, but still wished it was an injection mold of some sort.
Merry Christmas to you Sofyan. You make excellent reviews. I truly enjoy them. Don't change anything (I suspect you must be getting a lot of recommendations to change this or that from a lot of people...). I like the format of your videos, the thoroughness of your reviews, your knowledge and your personality. Keep up the great work!
I want this vehicle now 😍. I’m manifesting this in my life now. It’s mine. I now own a Mercedes GLB all white with black and cranberry interior. Done. Thank you God for my new Mercedes SUV. Gotta speak it into existence ☺️
In general, I hate the crazy crossover trend but I really like this car. My wife drives a GLK and this reminds a lot of that. The GLB is not as boring and rounded as the GLC and it’s also not needlessly huge. Might have to pick one up in a couple years when it’s selling for like $20k.
We took the GLB out for a test drive this past weekend. We also drove the Hyundai Palisade. Personally, I found the Palisade too big for me. I like the room, but I don’t feel comfortable driving huge SUVs. We also have an elderly parent living with us. So the height of the vehicle has to be taken into account. I think the GLB checked off all the items on my list. First, the car does not feel like a big SUV. Second, it’s the right height- you don’t have to climb into the car. Third, I have a short reach (not tall person) and not having to lean forward to access the touch screen was a big plus. MB offers (standard) a kind of mouse pad right were your right hand (US) rests. So I can access everything without having to move from my driving position at all. MB also offers like a Siri OS for the car. So you can do a lot of things via voice commands. Fourth, the 3rd row seat option means you don’t have to get into a larger SUV in order to get extra seating. I felt comfortable driving it and I thought the handling and shift transitions were very smooth. I think MB did a great job with this vehicle and we’ll be leasing the GLB within the next couple of weeks.
The Conservative Dude unfortunately, by the time we were ready to go to the dealer, COVID happened. So we put everything on hold. About a month ago, we just decided to be a bit more conservative with our expenses and leased a Hyundai Santa Fe limited. It has every option and feature we could think of. So I’m happy with it. We’ll revisit the GLB when the lease is up.
What an insane car. Never in my life have I seen an automaker attempt a car that literally tries to do everything (and not completely suck at it) This car tries to be a car for a young person because it's not a "mom" truck while also being a "mom" truck for those who want 7 puts all the seats down and you have plenty of space to move stuff around drives well enough to be fun plus has a cool interior and lights to keep youngsters happy looks like the ghostbusters car on the outside to keep old people happy has actual decent all wheel drive moon roof, apple car play, break assist, park assist, camera, etc. Basically all the possible bells and whistles. All included in the price too. The Progressive 250 4Matic is at a very nice price and has pretty much everything you could want. I am not saying its a great car or a horrible car, that's up to each of us to decide but this thing is a swiss army knife in the form of a small suv.
I am so happy and grateful for winning this Mercedes-Benz car on the Stars Lottery! Thank you to the Universe and The Secret for showing me the way to believe in my dreams!
I like the large cargo space for a smaller SUV & their dual screens. The augmented reality is a very cool feature, cooled seats are a plus in this category and lastly, the ambient lighting is a fun addition... 👍😎 Thx Sofyan..
So, a $36k car with $21k worth of options. Wow. I’ve seen some expensive cars increased $20-30k with options, but they’re usually cars with base prices approaching $100k, not sub-$40k. That’s ridiculous.
A lot of people add on unnecessary options. You can have the basic and add on options that cost less than 8k and still end up with a beautiful suv. The base plus color plus the AMG night package with the nava grey/silver interior, the burmeister sound and an extra package. The third row is not necessary because you can only sit little children back there, not even teenagers.
Lol at how he says "some nice fake air vents here" while if it was a kia or hyundai he would have probably said that it looks tacky with the fake air vents
1. This car is more closely looking like a mini/GLS than GLK/G-wagon, please do your home work. 2. If you dare not take it off road please keep comments to your self. The 250 4 MATIC is a very capable car to handle muddy/snowy hills & off road conditions. We’ve taken it to ski trips and cabins off the main roads. It handled excellent. Greater than any front wheel drive looking SUVs than my friends own.😢
I like how this looks but I wish they would have let you drive something under $40K. I don't think many people will pay $57K for this one. I think this is going to compete with the new GLA more than it will with the GLC. They both are front wheel drive and the styling of the new GLA is also really impressive. I just bought a 2020 GLC last week and have no regrets. I'm a big Merc fan so I'd be happy with any of their vehicles!
I built one just like the tester on the MB website - minus the red leather seats. Came out to $53k. Without the AMG appearance package at $2k, the thing looks like an econobox.
This car is decent especially the price. I believe it’s $416 a month for a 36 month lease (3 years) and a starting price point of $36,000. This car is worth it for the price and I like that
Lincoln Corsair full specs is better option for non 3row, 45 000$ is reasonable price. 57K for fwd biased car is a lot of money don't which car brand is.
J T Yeah it depend on how special out the Corsair Standard trim or the Reserve trim, FWD or AWD, & whether you configure it with the standard or optional engine
1. This car is more closely looking like a mini/GLS than GLK/G-wagon, please do your home work. 2. If you dare not take it off road please keep comments to your self. Great choice if you need one Swiss Army Knife like vehicle: Good looking, AWD, roomy, prestigious badge, good performance, gets over 25 MPG combined, all the latest tech, and loaded can be had for under $50k Well done!
When I see the sides of this it reminds me of the 1st gen VW Tiguan. This vehicle is being sold in the US to lower the entry level price point for MB. I looked at the MB dealer near me, $40,000 starting price which is not bad. I would love for them to add a diesel option in this. They are on sale now, ranging from 40k to 57k.
I can't understand how Sofyan doesn't have over 1 Million followers but I'm sure he will reach that soon enough. I plan on using you for my referral when it's time to get my Model 3 Performance.
The GLB look is wonderful. I hope the next redesign of GLC can borrow from the GLB Boxy design but give us an inline 6 without the mild hybrid and change it back to the good old 4matic with 40f/60b default torque split instead of the GLB front biased design. That is the reason why I kept my GLK and not trading it in for the new GLC. I am Pro Boxy.
Keep saying “base model, base model, base model” when it’s loaded with all kinds of options and interior upgrades. $57K isn’t that base for a compact SUV. There’s even room for more soft touch plastic on the door panels for $57K.
Jermaine Douglas Yes, but the vehicle being reviewed is pretty maxed out with options over what you get for $36K and that includes upgrades to the interior. So, now it competes with $55-60K vehicles and there is much less to ooh and ahh over after you look at the sticker price.
@mizzmolly In the video the upgraded $57K model with thousands of dollars worth of upgrades was called "base" when it was not. He never showed a true base model.
This guy in the video is very basic, hence he used the word base model, the correct word would have been ‘entry level’ model. A base model high end car, and a fully loaded entry level car are 2 different things.
I bought a BMW X3 2020 in 2019 after my 2006 mustang finally bit the dust. I looked at Mercedes SUVs first. I found nothing that caught my eye in turns of styling. I totally loved the GLK SUV. It's too bad they didn't continue it nor did Mercedes keep up the technology in it. It's too bad because I would've bought one. It just seems like they couldn't get it right after the GLK. I really liked your review but my final thought is that I so totally love and am happy with my X3.
Your presentations are just simply amazing!! Keep up the good work!! Happy Holidays to you and your family!! P.S. Your professional videos are second to none!!👍👍
Back in the day, when there was only a G, GL and ML. At least the front looks different from the other Mercedes models - the interior is always the same.
You know I'd still go with the big dog Lincoln navigator if I'm looking for third room and I get a luxury and capable without extreme maintenance costs
That's what I told a MB dealer. I said that they are distracting, they look like a car seat on my door panel which is not clever at all but very distracting. Why MB ? Why? Oh and the fake air vents. That's a no for me.
I would recommend a used GLE over this any day, more power, more space and better looking (subjective) since this one looks more like a VW/Jeep. Literally this week I bought a 2016 GLE350 for half the MSRP with just 20K miles with all bells and whistles(180-degree camera, upgraded wheels etc). Super clean car, as the previous owner seemed to take really good care of it. Got Carmax 5 year bumper to bumper warranty on it which came cheap since there were low miles on it. That's the way to enjoy the Germans. I had an Audi A4 before and as much as I loved that car, when it broke down, I had to empty my pockets.
What is going on with the sound? Sounding like you did voiceovers in your office or something. I love your reviews they’re always on point. This one seems different for you.
If you read his pinned comment which he posted the day before you left yours so you would've definitely seen it, he explains that a cable broke, hence the audio issues.
We drove it recently as loaner car, our ML350 was on maintenance service. It’s very sporty I would say, when you driving it you can feel gear switch and it’s very fast even though you barely pressing gas pedal, so for suburbs life and speed limit in NY state it’s not quite comfortable to have. You can definitely feel the road as well. Inside is complete joke, very loud AC, barely can hear radio, you have to make it louder, full touchscreen, which probably adding to price, we drove one with black interior and the material of inside is black plastic or whatever it calls, it leaves finger prints everywhere. If you like SUV it’s not what I would recommend to buy, it’s more of sport sedan type. Cost of this car is not comparable to what it is, we weren’t happy with having it as loaner car and were very happy to get our ML back. It’s my personal opinion, if you living in place where you can drive fast and you sport car person, it will be good choice but in same time you can find better car for that money.
Disagree with not having off road cred. TFL just did one, although is not a Jeep Wrangler, it held it's own. For comparison, TFL also put the new Defender off road, engine check light came on.
Not a fan of the looks, seen a few in person and it looks like a frumpy and bloated GLK or GLC, especially the rear end. Also, all these publications say it looks similar to a G-Wagon,... where?
@@johnny02128 yup. It's not a bad replacement to the GLK though. I personally like this more than that. That car was boxy but didn't really fit the MB look. This does a good job of fitting into the lineup. But still, I really don't see a point with the GLC right there...
It feels it has enough power when you're alone try driving with full passengers. 221 hp and a 3800 curb weight not a good combination. It needs a v6 turbo at least.
We drove this. The main upside of this car is that it has a lot of interior space and even a useable third row without being huge and unwieldly. Downside is the interior and some details. The digital screen looks pretty but there is a lot of cheap plastic around. The base model is like a mid range small suv you can get for 30k, minus the dash. Even my wife was like, the grille doesn’t look like the other cars here, it’s plastic. It’s still on the list though. The question is, is this a sad poverty-Mercedes, or a pretty nice car with a bit of a rip off factor for badge?
I don’t understand the need of a third row in this size of a vehicle. I understand that people from Europe would need just because they’re not huge and bulbous like us Americans. But still fitting someone that’s an avg sized would still be very cramped
Nope. With GLE you still don't get leather seats or the driver assistance package. It's the same way with BMW. But you're right to a small extent, with higher trim models you do get a lot more standard, just not everything you are thinking of.
Another "Fake it til you Make it" car from Benz. They seem to be making so many of these now to entice young and clueless buyers. Make the logo bigger, make it glow, add some ambient lighting inside and that's enough to attract them.
Twitta Velli for a 7 seater, the Koreans have them beat. Especially maxed out at 45k, they have far nicer interior and a traditional v6. In person, very surprising how far they’ve come. The biggest problem of course is the brand. If you can get over it, lots of value.
Vyshakh Nambiar When we get work done on our Merc they detail the car and but you pay such a ridiculous premium for work at the dealership that nothing is actually “free” with them haha
Mercedes builds for the world market not just n America. As such options of many different sizes and capabilities is necessary. GLB makes sense from that perspective cause it fits the European market well, esp if they make a cargo version. These days a car company can’t have too many suvs. Especially if all you have to do to build one is to jack up an existing car platform and modify various trim pieces ... which is all this thing is.
I've been anticipating this car for a while now but they priced it way too high. When I spec one out on the Mercedes website and then spec out an identical GLC, it's only a $2,500 difference. For some reason they charge $1,000 more for the AMG appearance package on the glb then they do on the GLC. The GLC is almost a second quicker to 60 miles an hour, it's quieter, built in Germany as opposed to the glb being built in Mexico, and will ride and handle better due to its rear wheel drive Dynamics. I think most people will spend a little extra for the GLC

You put the Cadillac Cadillac review in the Asian brand playlist
You too but WTF is a GLB?

I want this vehicle now 😍. I’m manifesting this in my life now. It’s mine. I now own a Mercedes GLB all white with black and cranberry interior. Done. Thank you God for my new Mercedes SUV.
Gotta speak it into existence ☺️
Amen!
In Jesus name 🙏🏽❤
I saw one of these on the road today, they actually look really good in person.
That is one luxurious renegade
Beast Boì lol it does look similar too it
I can’t unsee that now
At least its not a pile of Fiat garbage
TechGuy322 that won’t catch fire unlike the Jeep Grand Cherokee. And yes I’m serious a few years ago Jeep grand cherokees were catching fire
OMG, you just killed the game. LoL

aldridk gessa how do you like it so far? Does the interior creak when you put pressure on it like all of the videos claim?
The Conservative Dude unfortunately, by the time we were ready to go to the dealer, COVID happened. So we put everything on hold. About a month ago, we just decided to be a bit more conservative with our expenses and leased a Hyundai Santa Fe limited. It has every option and feature we could think of. So I’m happy with it. aldridk gessa excellent choice with the Santa Fe. Great tech and it’s reliable too! Glad everything worked out👍
The fact ppl say this look like a baby g wagon is crazzzyyyy its more like baby gls
Marketing reasons ...It has nothing of the G-Wagon
What an insane car. Never in my life have I seen an automaker attempt a car that literally tries to do everything (and not completely suck at it)
This car tries to be
a car for a young person because it's not a "mom" truck
while also being a "mom" truck for those who want 7
puts all the seats down and you have plenty of space to move stuff around
drives well enough to be fun plus has a cool interior and lights to keep youngsters happy
looks like the ghostbusters car on the outside to keep old people happy
has actual decent all wheel drive
moon roof, apple car play, break assist, park assist, camera, etc. Basically all the possible bells and whistles.
All included in the price too. The Progressive 250 4Matic is at a very nice price and has pretty much everything you could want.

And once again. “That’s what we’re here to find out”.
I dig this boxy shape tbh.
André Lima gross
Lol at how he says "some nice fake air vents here" while if it was a kia or hyundai he would have probably said that it looks tacky with the fake air vents
Jacob Rael civic type r has entered the chat lol
Jacob Rael we all know how this guy is when it comes to his German brands.
Smooth Operator right 😒
It a mini shaped GLS, nothing to do with a G Wagon in looks nor the GLK!
HW2800 I definitely get GLK pre-facelift vibe from this design.
Glk is showing in this one. I liked the glk350
HW2800 gives me GLK vibes
This guy probably knows more about cars than you do.
1. This car is more closely looking like a mini/GLS than GLK/G-wagon, please do your home work.
2. If you dare not take it off road please keep comments to your self. The 250 4 MATIC is a very capable car to handle muddy/snowy hills & off road conditions. @17:15 he had literally no expression on his face 😂 like no words on the performance
This car is decent especially the price. I believe it’s $416 a month for a 36 month lease (3 years) and a starting price point of $36,000. This car is worth it for the price and I like that
You will find it very hard to keep the price below 50k with all the add on's ...all of the driver assist safety features are add on's
That's a LOT of options
You know, I was never really a fan of Mercedes. But this particular model has my full attention. Dare I say, "need?" Ha ha
Lincoln Corsair full specs is better option for non 3row, 45 000$ is reasonable price. 57K for fwd biased car is a lot of money don't which car brand is.
Riste Kostadinov this one is pretty much fully loaded, fully loaded a Corsair will run you about 60k as well.
Lincoln Corsair is much nicer in my opinion rather than this “box”
J T Yeah it depend on how special out the Corsair Standard trim or the Reserve trim, FWD or AWD, & whether you configure it with the standard or optional engine

Give it about two years and then get it from CarMax for half the price.
Eddie Chea now you’re thinking
My man.
Yup carmax the way to go
You guys realise that they still make money off the warranty because the parts are bought in bulk
Carmax is a scam
Keep saying “base model, base model, base model” when it’s loaded with all kinds of options and interior upgrades.
$57K isn’t that base for a compact SUV. There’s even room for more soft touch plastic on the door panels for $57K.
thx , i dont have to say it now ! how many vehicles does MB need it the line up. good greif mary !
The base model is 36k
Jermaine Douglas Yes, but the vehicle being reviewed is pretty maxed out with options over what you get for $36K and that includes upgrades to the interior. So, now it competes with $55-60K vehicles and there is much less to ooh and ahh over after you look at the sticker price.
@mizzmolly

This guy in the video is very basic, hence he used the word base model, the correct word would have been ‘entry level’ model.
A base model high end car, and a fully loaded entry level car are 2 different things.
Can you pleaseeeeeee do a comparison between this and a glc!!
Only prob is no AWD. I used to love the old. boxy GLK. That baby felt like you were driving a tank roadster
I was looking to buy one when I found out they stopped producing them. Bought a BMW X3 2020 and I'm not looking back.
Unlikely MB, lots of interior noise at highway speed Happy holidays to everyone !
I’m excited for the upcoming Genesis GV80.
That car is boxier than my amazon delivery
Micah Rashada Lmfao 😂😂
I bought a BMW X3 2020 in 2019 after my 2006 mustang finally bit the dust. I looked at Mercedes SUVs first. I found nothing that caught my eye in turns of styling. I totally loved the GLK SUV. Nice review. Thanks, it helped us alot. Now there's glb250 in my garage
Not too crazy about the looks of this one but a thumbs up for your high quality video, happy holidays!
Sound quality was bad.
Dear car reviewers !! Put the price in the description !!! Geez !!! Good review 👍
Back in the day, when there was only a G, GL and ML.
At least the front looks different from the other Mercedes models - the interior is always the same.
Normally, Im unimpressed with the look of German SUV designs, but this one is very good
Love cruising on the 89A, hope you enjoyed your stay in AZ 🌵🙏🏽
You're not fooling anyone by testing that quick detailer on a matte-finish paint
"nice fake air vents"
Samperg lol.
2 wheel drive/ front wheel drive SUVs are as bad an idea as putting a CVT in a Subaru WRX.
You know I'd still go with the big dog Lincoln navigator if I'm looking for third room and I get a luxury and capable without extreme maintenance costs
This car looks amazing
Nice review! Cool boxy design. I wonder how is the road noise?(especially from tire, chassis..)
Those exposed metal bits on the door does take a toll on its luxury
That's what I told a MB dealer. I said that they are distracting, they look like a car seat on my door panel which is not clever at all but very distracting. Why MB ? Why? Oh and the fake air vents. That's a no for me.

The day time views are good but we need to see night time aspect and interior looks would be nice.
the glk was a beautiful small suv. this glb should have replaced it frm the start vs the glc. glb is an amazing looking suv.
Just my personal opinion, 2WD drive SUVs should be classified as HA-SUV. In a SUV I expect AWD or 4WD.
Ok boomer
Not a fan of the looks, seen a few in person and it looks like a frumpy and bloated GLK or GLC, especially the rear end. Also, all these publications say it looks similar to a G-Wagon,... where?
exactly! I see the GLK looks but there is no G-Wagon here.
I like the boxy look, but like you said there is no correlation to the G-Wagon. It's more of a mashup of the GLK and GLS.
@@johnny02128 yup. It's not a bad replacement to the GLK though. I personally like this more than that. That car was boxy but didn't really fit the MB look. This does a good job of fitting into the lineup. But still, I really don't see a point with the GLC right there...
This looks really good from the front, just not 100 percent sure about the rear/ tail lights though. Everything is optional as usual though.
How many people are triggered by the audio switches?
I know. I was trying to deal with it, but after the 4th time I was thinking, "What's up with the audio?"
?
He's using a microphone 🎤 🥴
The audio was different
I think he recorded the audio for the interior walkthrough later.
I don’t understand the need of a third row in this size of a vehicle. I understand that people from Europe would need just because they’re not huge and bulbous like us Americans. But still fitting someone that’s an avg sized would still be very cramped
Just kids for those imo. 3rd row is meh 😒
Because the vehicles that fit a 3rd row before this one are nearly double in price. Hi GLS and GLE
Or people could be a little more fit
$57k loaded no thanks. I’ll get a GLE350 base model with all of those options standard already.
Nope. With GLE you still don't get leather seats or the driver assistance package. It's the same way with BMW. But you're right to a small extent, with higher trim models you do get a lot more standard, just not everything you are thinking of.
chrisak49 good luck to order and wait 6-8 months
Love your videos !!!! You had a problem with the audio
This GLB is strange looking I loved the old GLK I would love to have one of those
Me too and the ride is rough and loud, not worth the money.
Me too!
@@jackielegrand2394 How do you know.. did you test drive it?
@@dg7438 yes I did. Terrible ride for the asking price.
@@dg7438 my Volvo rides smoother.
I am a fan of this SUV would love to buy one and park it in my garage
Another "Fake it til you Make it" car from Benz. They seem to be making so many of these now to entice young and clueless buyers. Make the logo bigger, make it glow, add some ambient lighting inside and that's enough to attract them.
Ace very good points
I thought this too, but I have mixed feelings on it. What do you like ?
@@Twittavelli that it's not in my driveway
@@danielcastaneda2983 lol
Twitta Velli for a 7 seater, the Koreans have them beat. Especially maxed out at 45k, they have far nicer interior and a traditional v6. In person, very surprising how far they’ve come. The biggest problem of course is the brand. If you can get over it, lots of value.
Merry Christmas sofian bey
Scion xB reincarnated by Mercedes
more like mini GLS... an actual mini G Wagon would be cool as hell but its not this.
Just buy a Suzuki Jimny.
Edgar Renje i want it to be a benz tbh
Edgar Renje yea a Suzuki is nothing compared to benz
I had one as a loaner for a week it wasn’t bad
In my opinion it looks more like a mini GLS. But almost 60k for the sport package trim I would still get the GLC or even the GLE.
Great video, they should have option of gettin rid of cladding. Cladding looks horrible
I see a 2010 Tiguan look in it
I can’t believe the base price on this is cheaper than the smaller 2 series gran coupe
I've been looking for a new SUV and so far my favorite is the 2020 Audi Q8 55 TFSI Prestige.
no
@@tcamm9812 Yes
Q8 not even the same class, price and size
Love the reviews
im waiting for the amg version
This will be for sure a hot seller, like a fancier Kia Soul.
dan dan I don’t think this will be cross shopped by potential Kia Soul buyers.
Good review thank you.
Merry Christmas! Really enjoy your content. May you and your family have a blessed 2020!
Awesome Review Of Mercedes-Benz GLB 250. 😀
Well if you are Mercedes Benz owner in the states, you pretty much get free car wash at any Mercedes dealer you go.
Vyshakh Nambiar When we get work done on our Merc they detail the car and but you pay such a ridiculous premium for work at the dealership that nothing is actually “free” with them haha
@@mohnjayer you are right
Base level car....yeeep
Yes a left side gas tank
Beautiful😍
Looks like one of those mobility taxis
Excellent review..looking to lease this. Keep up the good work
Mercedes builds for the world market not just n America.
And thanks for uploading the video
I've been anticipating this car for a while now but they priced it way too high. When I spec one out on the Mercedes website and then spec out an identical GLC, it's only a $2,500 difference. For some reason they charge $1,000 more for the AMG appearance package on the glb then they do on the GLC. The GLC is almost a second quicker to 60 miles an hour, it's quieter, built in Germany as opposed to the glb being built in Mexico, and will ride and handle better due to its rear wheel drive Dynamics. I think most people will spend a little extra for the GLC
60k. For a 4 cylinder SUV? I skip this.
Mike Maha-Su ya, there are more than 10 choices of 4 cylinder crossover around 20k price range to choose. Mercedes at least should make it a AWD.
G-Wagon? Nah. Definitely a GLS but no where near the g-wagon😂
Should go the GLB 35
This will cannibalize sales from the GLC
in germany, the base ( no options ) price for a FWD GLB 200 with a 1.3 L engine with 163 HP from Renault/NIssan = 42000 $ ( 38000 euro ), LOL.
