Great video to watch and there's a lot of lessons to learn. It's not about driving. It's about safety. I read somewhere, and it said " Share the road, Share the responsibility for Safety. Be safe. Thank you.
I was told by a Sup, on an OJS that I don't need to look in the right mirror when pulling out from a delivery. He said it slows me down and that I should check that side when I'm walking back to the truck. True story. lol.
There are some good points here, but there are bad one also. Example: You leave space between your front bumper and the rear bumper of vehicle in front of you the same size as your vehicle. This leave enough space for another car to pull in front of you blocking you if it stalls..why not just leave enough space to get around it only, but not enough for a car to pull in it?
That's the thing, it's not saying the same length as your vehicle, but proportional to the size of your vehicle. So yes, enough space to drive out of the way but too much that someone could overtake the empty space. .
Check Mirrors. Your mirrors would catch that vehicle and drill teaches you to spot hazards that are approaching your vehicle when stopped in traffic. Counting 1,2,3 when vehicle in front moves b4 putting your vehicle in motion will also allow you to act towards the change of the driving scene.
@@booMerrx quite different actually. We ended up doing 3 days of Zoom meetings. Today instead of doing my day 4/5 testing and training, I got thrown on a truck for a live route as a ride along and package rumor for the last 12 and 1/2 hours
Also the 8 rules of backing. I see so many nose-in pricks, it's infuriating. They don't even teach people the first rule of backing in driver's ed. If you must back, BACK FIRST!
trying to apply most of those rules around my area can get you hurt.. too much road rage going on, people cant seem to wait more than 2 seconds after the light turns green before you remove your foot from the break
Trying to figure out how far i am away from a vehicle in seconds is a distraction and dangerous. Just know your vehicle and put a reasonable amount of distance at a glance and for your speed and you will be fine. Keep checking mirrors.
@@alexz221 I'm currently in the program on my 3rd day. For 10 point they want us to know the bold words, word for word, and then they want us to just summarize the rest of the info
For fun I memorized every single thing word for word. There were three versions of this where they changed a word or two, so I'd ask the auditor what version they wanted to hear and they'd say there was only one version. Of course I'd pull out the cards and show them they were wrong. I don't know any of it now, use it or lose it.
try to keep this gap when you stop vehicle in NYC haha . everything is perfect on a training but in real life you never get a parcel if they drive like that. time is running
If all drivers would KNOW, yes KNOW these rules and FOLLOWED them, 90 pct of the time you'll be a great safe driver. Now here comes the truth. Follow everything the way it says to do and your production will be safe and very good. To UPS that's no good. They want more and more. "I'm sorry but I was following the job how it was told to me do to do" Now keep your pace and give a bit more if you can once in a while doing it so you can't be harassed because you definitely will be followed and harassed if you sneeze. Notice how the video speaks so well relaxed and says WE studied. Did these pieces of shit study them in traffic and all sorts of other predicaments or a beautiful 6 am Sunday. When the pre-load is not wrapped and I go up on the line, I code that off to the pre-load. If you know your getting a OJS don't code it to the pre-load. I'm not letting that being taken over allowed (bullshit fake) stat. Never did I read that in any contract since I was there in 95. The pre-load might say something but the on car sup or your manager won't because that time is not put on them. What percent of drivers do a pre-trip in your center? 10% ? When you get your car out of you bay and outside, do it. Now you can view the entire truck and all that your supposed to. Learn all of that also. Did you see if your wipers worked today? No
commentary one as written. vs this video which is more acceptable for the test any suggestions? Clearing an intersection Weather approaching, turning, going through, or starting up at intersections scan ahead look left, right, then back to the left. Scan to get your big picture and look left, right, first, looking for any pedestrians, bicycles, motorcycles, and vehicles to ensure they are obeying their traffic sign or signal, and looking for any obstructions that may block your visibility . look left the second time because that's the first lane of traffic I'm going to enter. prior to entering the intersection, I check my traffic side mirror looking for traffic in the next lane next to my vehicle that may turn in front of me. As I proceed through the intersection check my opposite traffic side mirror to ensure I cleared the intersection of any hazards. Why? Keeps you alive at intersections.
Well they did show the video in my integrate class and my instructor said it doesn’t have to be verbatim as far as the 10 point commentary goes so I’m assuming it’s acceptable

“The hell is this ups driver doing”
😂
If UPS drivers drove like this, they would never get their packages delivered...
I drive for UPS and I follow all of the methods
Lol
I agree cause I’m a driver
I'm followed 10 point and then I'm driving safe and delivered 270 stop every day and on time Next air.
Fake it till you make it
Thank you in which I have my driving test tomorrow and my 5 Seeing Habits and 10 Commentaries tomorrow. Feel confident.
Great video I start ups school on Wednesday ,I'm very nervous....My prayer's will get me threw!!!

Hope your prayers didn't "throw" you "through" UPS school.
By far the hardest to remember

Any tips on passing integrad besides memorizing the 5s and 10s? Do we need to memorize the pre trip stuff?
Did you pass? My test is Monday. Because of covid we are now doing everything at satellite locations. Integrad is closed for the most part
@@anthonyamurri9278 Can you explain that a little more? Since of covid, how different are things without integrad?

They change it every few years but it’s all the same stuff essentially, just memorize the stuff they give you because that’s all they care about
