You have no idea how much I appreciate these video tutorials you make, brother.. I've learned so much, so fast, over the past 2 weeks it's insane. I've been able to do so many awesome things with my 351m because of you. So thank you once again. It's safe to say that I've looked at all the relevant videos pertaining to my device that you've made so far (and numerous others as well) and I can't wait to see what else you can teach me in the future. The ONE thing that still eludes me is how I go about adding dosbox. It's not one of the pre-installed emulators when you download 351elec. I can't see a folder where all of them other opk files should be. I've rummaged through every folder on the card via my pc and the ftp trick you used. Nothing. Can't even find an answer on the internet for this. Seems like there's others out there with the same problem but no one is getting and answer to how do this.. Anyone have any ideas?

This device feels amazing. I first got into the emulation scene in the PSP days (bricked one, lost the other); but the games I had man, sheesh. So, I graduated to PSVita, but never hacked it. Finally, I moved on to emulating my android phone. The only thing with the phone emulation is I am running out of space (with all the other apps installed). So now, with this device, I can have a dedicated emulation system again without compromising space, or having to hack a handheld alone again with the possibility of bricking. Time to add games and another 20 years to my life. Boom.

Running any linux based os makes this job of seeing an ext4 filesystem or resizing partitions super easy.
Yeah for anyone tech savvy and they use their rg351 alot I would say it's actually say it's just worth setting up a dual boot or even just a bootable drive. It's easier and faster if you do it often.

Hello, if I am adding my custom "cover" image to the own ROM, could I use more "square" resolution of the picture or I need to have exactly the wide image in 480x250 px? I rather add cover which looks more like the original box and those were much "vertical" than horizontal ratio. What is the max resolution for the image? Thank you.

It's not really possible to brick one of these devices. I sincerely hope that this isn't the only one of my 100+ videos and guides that I've created that you consulted, since this is literally a guide on how to transfer files using the stock OS. When it comes to naming games, is it as easy as editing the name in the games folder? For example, the game files that have random 001 numbering etc. before the game title
I've tried adding games from my MacBook pro to the SD card that came with the system and it shows that there there but they don't play . The only that even kinda started up was vice stories for psp just the intro then it cuts off all the others didn't even start up can anyone help

Random one but on my RG300, I have Streets of Rage Remake (I think its classed as a RetroFW port). Is there any way of transferring that particular game to the RG351P?
@The Cool show Streets of Rage Remake isn't a ROM, it's a fan made remake that was originally created for the PC. Unfortunately, as far as ROMs are concerned, he can't tell us where to get ROMs because of legality reasons. However, Russ has a guide on how to get SoRR on the RG351 here:

I successfully got SoRR working myself on my RG351P. The short version is to download SoRR v5.1 specifically (not v5.2) and then download the SoRR Installation file, drop it into the 'backup' folder in the EASYROMS partition, run 'Restore Settings' from the 'Options' menu on the device, then copy the contents from SoRR v5.1 into the newly created '\ports\sorr' folder in the EASYROMS partition.
As far as finding ROMs... Google is your friend.

Is it possible to transfer files onto the anbernics sd card from ones phone? I plugged the micro sd into my phone to add roms but the folders don't seem to be there.

For some reason my 351P isn't connecting to my home network... I do have the necessary adaptors plugged in, BTW.
It gives me an IP address, but I'm not connected to the Internet.

Perhaps it's a stupid question, but if I've flashed the new firmware onto an sd card (which I've done), could I insert the SD card into another device without needing to do any additional installing and just be able to play right away?
what do you do if you can only see one partition? I cant see the games partition,, im using my stock sd card from the 351p.. it has games and works so no hardware issues,, im on win 7,, cant see but the 351 system files

Is it possible to connect a USB thumb drive with files to a RG351P and copy the files from the drive to the memory card in the RG351P?

I just ordered one of these guys and should be getting it in the next day or two. I have a lot of the bios files to play Sega CD, Turbo CD, etc on my Retropie, will I need those on the 351, or do most of them come already installed?
Hi, so the BIOS files are already loaded, you'll find them in the "Games" partition in their own folder. I recommend you save them somewhere safe before making any changes to the firmware.
Can anyone help? I am trying to add SNES ROMs to rg351p thru PC to SD card. I successfully
transfer the roms to the Micro sd card. when i insert card in the system and go to select the game. It shows up in the list but when i try to play it just gives me a blank black screen. Nothing shows up.

what website or file do you use to get your games
Curious about moving over existing save files from my PC emulators onto my 351p. For example I have Tactics Ogre for the PSP (played on PPSSPP) and have my saves at "ppsspp/memstick/PSP/SAVEDATA" with a bunch of folders "ULSUS1029FFT" etc. I know those are all the different saves for my games, but where do I put them on my microsd for the 351p? Do I leave them in the same folders? Do they go in the folder where the PSP roms are at? Or...?
Hi, so you will add them via wireless FTP to /storage/.config/ppsspp/PSP/SAVEDATA/. My save hierarchy is the same, so hopefully they'll transfer over with no issues!

Can someone please tell me how on earth to add PS1 games properly? Ive tried everything, but no matter what I do, I get the same game in my list multiple times. Like for instance Tomb Raider 2 appears nearly 20 times (because there is 20 files 19 bin files and a cue file. I assume one Bin file is the game, the rest are audio tracks, but I cant stop these appearing in the list) Every other game that has a bin and cue file appears twice. Ive tried the games all in the one PSX folder, and also tried games in individula folders inside the PSX folder and its the same issue. Any one help?
Question, my memory card is "protected" it says. And it will not let me add any games. Any clue how to get around this?

Hey man, is their a way I can do a download a copy of the original sd card onto a new sd? My original is beginning to fail so I’m unable to just copy the card onto the new. Do you know of anywhere I could find it? Any help would be most appreciated.

after installing elec2.0 and putting the SD card back into it and booting, it does create the two drives, but I cannot copy anything to the games folder, on either Mac or windows, it says it needs to be formatted, but if you format it, its on 23gb, not 128gb...... when I look at the space available it says 128gb, but can't copy to it. .... any ideas?
Can I just drag and drop games on the SD card I got with my ambernic rg351mp into the folders on the partitioned amber elec SD card?

It seems wrong that the recommended way to transfer files wirelessly is to login as root with ssh. Is there a way to create new user accounts and change their passwords on the RG351P?
Okay, so there is no games partition showing up on mine. After doing some research some people are suggesting that I need to go into Disk Management and create a file letter or some shit? So if emelec is Drive F, I need to find the unmarked partition and assign it as Drive G so that it will show up? Is that right?
Are you on Windows 10? If you're on an older version of Windows, the partitions won't show up at all. If you are on Windows 10, yes I have read that people can assign a drive letter to the partition and then it will show up. Here are instructions from the ArkOS page, which is basically the same for any of the firmwares: FOR WINDOWS 10 1703 or newer USERS: If you don't see a drive letter named EASYROMS when you plug the SD card into a card reader, it's most likely that Windows did not automatically assign a drive letter to that partition on your SD card. This can be resolved by going to disk management (type disk management in the search bar in Windows 10 and select the first control panel app that comes up at the top as the best match), then going to the SD card with the EASYROMS partition label, then assign a drive letter to the EASYROMS partition by right clicking on the EASYROMS partition and selecting Assign Drive Letter or Change Driver letter and Path, then follow the directions from there. Once completed, the drive should show up under My Computer. You typically only need to ever do this once on the Windows machine.
Help...when I plug the sd card into my computer, it doesn’t show game/storage folders for the 64gb card that came with the device. The card shows full but not as a 64gb. Any suggestions?

@@RetroGameCorps I can't see my games folder either. I tried assigning the partition a drive letter in the disk management tool but it gives me an error notice. I tried to use Partition Wizard and it says it's done successfully but nothing happens there either. I don't know what to do.

Hi Retro Game Corps do you have any advice for fixing the “save state” When i try to hit the save state on retroarch it will try to save but never complete the save? It started doing this after a put new games into n64 folder . They sucked and did not run smooth so i removed them . But yea since that I cannot save state . Thank you for your time . Hi, that's a new one for me. Usually if save states don't work that's an indication that the SD card is having write errors. I'm not sure what to do, sorry!

I want to copy my Pokemon Gaia saves from the retroid pocket 2 to the RG351v with the emuelc os. I can’t figure out where to copy my .sav and .srm files. I’ve copied them in the same directory of the game files on the second memory card, on the storage partition, on the firmware memory card…but nothing happend. I’m so confused now
So is it as easy as making a new folder, naming it whatever the emulator is like segacd and then the games are just there?

Here's my question. Trying to put my Playstation games onto the device. Do I just move the entire folder, including the .bin and .cue? Do I just move on individual file? Neither route seem to work for me in the slightest. I just spent about 5 hours ripping them from my physical collection, and it'd suck if this doesn't work. XD
Hello! Your videos really help me with my rg351p. Is there a way where you can add themes by plugging in the sd card to the laptop? My rg351p can't connect to the internet even though I have the wifi enabler and usb adapter so I can't transfer via ftp.
Hi, unfortunately the only way to read the Linux file system is through FTP or through Linux file system software like Paragon. Paragon is a little buggy and can cause errors in your card if not used properly (you have to unmount the sd card in order for changes to be saved, for example).

Why my game partition doesn’t contain those folder shown in your video?
I do the same you did for sonic Cd....but can't see it on list. What could it be? Is there some kind of database for gamelist with their properly names?
Did you refresh the game list? Also, if you have a bin/cue file, open up the cue file with a text editor and make sure it's pointing to the correct bin file(s). Those are the two most common issues.

I'm so confused..... I just got the RG353m and I'm just trying to download some Digimon games. I got on ROMsGames and downloaded one but it wouldn't load it. It would just show the anbernic logo then go to a settings page. What am I doing wrong?

I use a MAC and i still cant get it to work. i have a new bigger SD card and put it into the emulator and it got the directives. i copied over the files from the SD card that comes with the emulator to my computer in its own folder. when i go to transfer them from the folder to the card it denies me. even from my downloads, i cannot transfer to the card. any idea why?

Do you have any recommendations for an extension converter? I keep coming across ps1 roms that are .rar and .7z files. Was unsure if id be able to convert these to a compatible file type? I tried imgburn to convert to an .iso file but that didnt work lol sorry if these are dumb questions but im still a emulator noob
Just use an unzipper like WinRAR and unzip the .rar and .7z files, and put whatever file types that are inside (likely .iso or .bin/.cue) in the PS1 roms folder.

I do have a question, and my apologies if it has already been answered.. I keep getting access denied when trying to connect wirelessly with WinSCP. I know the password is emuelec, but I've entered it multiple times and still I am getting access denied. Any thoughts?
What firmware are you using? Nothing should have changed. If you're using 351ELEC or ArkOS, they have different usernames/passwords (check out their respective GitHub page wikis)

I have a Windows 10 and I dont know what im doing wrong i follow the video but i cant play sega cd pc engine cd or any arcade like neo geo or mame and i have tried with different websites for the roms and nothing works as soon as i hit play on the game i loads for a few seconds then sends me back to the tital screen

Unfortunately that's not implemented in the firmware. I wish it had that option as well!
Can I ADD Emulator to the console? I'm having problem with Japanese SNES games that they do not show the Kanji (Chinese characters) correctly. I've tried other emulators that came with the console but non of them works. I think may be different SNES emulator can fix that. Can you help please?

I have a question, EmuELEC already comes with all the emulators? If not, in which folder should I place the emulators? for example that of segacd.

EmuELEC is like retroarch+ some powerful emulator like ppsspp and drastic
The RetroArch cores are pre-installed on the EmuELEC image, and Sega CD should work right out of the box. It's using the same emulators as Genesis and Game Gear ROMs. I would double check the file types; they have to be in bin/cue, iso, or chd files (not zipped).

Hi, got the RG351p this evening, unfortunately your tutorials didn t work for me. To read the sd you now need a software and no luck at all establishing a FTP connection with the credentials you provide. A quick question: do you think that using reset button for exiting emulation is a safe method?
Hi, sorry to hear that you are having issues. Are you by chance on an older version of Windows (not 10)? That will cause issues with reading the partitions on your card. I do not recommend using the physical reset button except for when the system is hung up - it's not good for the device to use the button like that (much like with a PC).
@@RetroGameCorps Thank you for your kind response. I am indeed on Win7. I ll avoid using the reset button. Is there any shorter way of exiting rom beyond L3+R3->Navigating Arch? Also, you say you turn off the system using select button on systems selection screen, is there another way to do that too (using power button makes my fav list disappear...). Thank you in advance, I ll give the RG to my young nephew and I d like to simplify the job to their parents :)

As far as shutting down the system, the only way to do it is through the menu. It’s a pain!

@@smasher.338 I remember that in the instruction booklet inside the box was suggested a particular tool to use on Win7, that made possible to read the sd and put more content on it.

If you're using the latest version of ArkOS (using the online update tool), the themes directory has moved into the EASYROMS partition, which makes it very handy. If you're using an older version, you will need to SSH into the device and navigate to etc/emulationstation to find them.
My card only shows emuelc . No games folder !!! How do I view it ?
