Will definitely make another like this! I ordered a bunch of supplies from Wish.com based on a recommendation from a few people in the comments! It'll take a few weeks for it to get here so expect another one sometime in September! :)
If anyone else wants to try wish i have a 50% off code we all know how hard shopping for art supplies is when your my age (17) and broke lol 😊Here's the code: hzctxqq
Samtagri so it is chinese. tbh I have trust issues with most chinese products that had mostly chinese characters on it :| sometimes it just feels luck finding a nice product T_T
risa saruwatari everything is made in china these days. All the expensive brand stuff are made in China too. So just because it is Chinese doesn't necessarily mean it is crap. Let the reviews and buyer feedback guide your path.
I am aware of that and I did have this view that all products made in china are crap then I gradually realized even some of the legit stuff can be made in china (coz of the cost in making them if I'm not mistaken?). But most people in my country still thinks that.
paused at 12:50 to let you know that the translation is: "Two uses, thick and thin" "Dry type, waterproof" "Gives a good grip". btw, that's a double ended automatic Chinese calligraphy brush; in which the ink is inside the brush itself, instead of having the brush and ink separately. the fine-tip end is actually a smaller brush. (i was in a private Chinese primary school, we did calligraphy.)
My daughter is super artistic, so I've been watching your videos to get ideas for her. I love art as well, but all I can manage is a dead tree, haha. Anyway, you've been very inspiring for both of us, we love your videos! Btw, I'm a natural blond with black eyebrows, lol its rare but it does happen.
That's so lovely! I am so happy to hear that :) I do my best to keep my videos child friendly so I am very flattered that you watch them ^_^ that's so cool though! I love the contrast of light hair and darker eyebrows, it's really unique and fun to draw too!
Those markers that have chinese words on it are actually Chinese calligraphy brushes (modern). Traditional brushes are just typical brushes that you would have to manually dip into ink. These modern brushes are for lazy people who want to do their Chinese calligraphy homework quickly like me 😆
I was literally a happy accident, wasn't a happy accident at first but then My mom compared me to my screaming bratty sisters and now Im a happy accident
Chloe, to read in Chinese - install Google Translate on your phone. Then select direction from Chinese to English, tap on the "camera" button left down from the text entry field. Then put the Chinese text under your camera and read English from the screen.
Chloe Rose Art btw the red part says double tipped brush pen the other side says thick , thin , dohble use and quick dry water proof. At least thats what I think they said, I failed my chinese😊
pearlyn lee oh, I was only talking about the brush tip. The pen can also be used to write greeting cards depending on the ink since calligraphy ink doesn't transfer well on glossy paper
Platinum are great, I have a Preppy fountain pen set they do with removable ends and ink so they can become markers, ballpoints and highlighters too :) I think they are around £3 each and come with ink but you can get a refillable chamber which is what I use to write with. Only got them to try out writing with fountain pens before I get a more expensive one but might actually stick with buying more of them :) Just getting into art so haven't got markers yet but might get some more platinum things :)
Chloe Rose Art I was really surprised that something like that was around. They are really cheap so not exactly sure how great they would be since I only use them as fountain pens. Heard they're a way for school kids to be able to keep the same pens and save on disposable plastic ones. The 0.2mm nib stopped working so well recently but I think it might just need cleaning a bit.
Hahaha I loved the opening to this video 😂 OooOoh those pens you were writing your name with look very nice indeed! It's nice watching you write you should do a calligraphy video! I've been meaning to try water brushes too, might have to give them a go :P great video Chloe!
I've been trying to get into Hand Lettering! I really love it so I need a bit more practice haha The water brushes are amazing, especially for travel because you dont have to carry around a glass with you! Thanks Hannah :)
Thank you so much for the closed captions! I realized I was actually reading the captions by the mid of video. I was surprised because most videos I am interested to watch are not usually captioned. As a deaf artist, I hope there will be more captioned art related videos like this wonderful video.
I love Platinum Brush Pens. I have a bunch of them that I use and they are one of the best cheap calligraphy and coloring pens since the real brush are watersoluble so you can blend them like watercolor. I mostly use them for calligraphy and its freaking amazing for that since I'm one of those who prefer the "real brush" ones than the marker like ones. Controlling it is more the problem and it can get streaky(I'm not sure of the term) if the paper is not smooth enough though.
6:55 for anyone who’s wondering, the package from Chinese to English is: Top,with pen picture is -fine word Red background words-double sided brush Words on left side says-mix of fine and thin brushes is easy use and dries fast Bottom pen picture says-medium size
The pen brush are more commonly used in calligraphy but not the words type. Its the symbles like japanese or chinese words. But your right about other uses of them. they do have a verity of uses. Sorry if im confusing. Love your videos. Please keep making more of them.
I've seen some of these products on amazon but was always hesitant to try them out. I'm glad there's finally a video about these cheap art supplies on youtube now. Thank you! 😄👌
You didn't mention the website in the video but some how I knew it was aliexpress. lol How long did you have to wait for that stuff to ship? I've peeked that place often but I can't handle ship times that involve the word "months." 😂 I'm impatient I need my stuff teleported into my hands after purchase! 😂😂😂
I've used AliExpress for a few years now, the longest I ever waited for something to arrive was about 3 months! I've also had a few things that never show up either. Always go onto the sellers store before you buy anything from them and check out the Feedback.
I have watched lots of art videos/vloggers and such but your character and style is so awesome. Really engaging and fun. Love your humor and I am a fellow superwholock fan so cheers there! Love your work!
Thank you! I've seen lots of art goodies online there at AliExpress but wasn't sure if I would get good quality or not being the prices are so much less expensive! I have much more confidence now!
BeardedBarley1 no blending with Copic markers with themselves doesn’t stain the bibs because of how they work. They temporarily pick up the color which enables blending but they don’t stain.
A great alternative to Copic markers are called Touchfive markers. I use them and they are quite good and I look almost exactly the same as Copics, except they have a fine point instead of brush.
Chloe!! you should try out Tombow Irojiten Colored Pencils, They are SO GOOD! I got to try them at a Friend's Place and they were Genuine Heaven, So I'm getting em on my birthday XD
Your reaction to the water brush failing, haha! Priceless!!! Thanks for sharing this; It will be a great to find affordable alternatives for practice until I can afford the pricey stuff! Love your channel! You're so talented!!! :)
Hello Chloe. Great video! I have the Platinum brush pens and personally I love them! They are actually like watercolours and they work pretty well. I like to dip the point in the water so the color lightens and I can have different shades with one pen! I've posted something on my IG (@_sora_art) if you're interested on how the result looks like. I used them for my bullet journal :) Love your videos!
LIFESAVER OH MY GOSH. Ive been saving up and working toward getting stuff like this but theyre all so expensive. Im so glad you did this because now I know the cheaper ones are similar and work just as well. Im excited to blow my paycheck now haha
I love how you actually try the cheap products and are not biased towards the more expansive ones, as some other youtubers are. You don't just try to find the flaws of the cheaper supplies, but actually just "review" them as if they are not different. Sorry for my English, not my first language, so I'm not sure if this made sense..
A month ago i bought a PLATINUM SIGNATURE BRUSH PEN and i freaking loveeeeeeeeeeeee they do not fray. But mine run out of ink so yesterday i bought two!
Thanks for your video. I've been watching a lot of "cheap" art supplies review and comparison videos recently. I use some of the cheap stuff myself from time to time and depending on what I'm working on. Here's the deal for me: Very often cheap supplies will perform just like the more expensive and brand-name products FOR A WHILE. Most of them except the truly awful will work great right out of the box. The real test is their performance and consistency after regular normal use and over time. In addition, quality coloring products will often be more lightfast (permanent) and so fading is reduced. This is important for work that you're selling or that you put a lot of time into and want to keep for the ages. But of course, for more casual work work, the cheap stuff may work fine and archival quality is not an issue. I often use kids coloring supplies for some of my coloring (Crayola & Faber-Castell) and have pretty good results. If you do a lot of coloring, it's a good idea to have a less expensive source to use because even the top brands will get used up pretty quickly if you use them a lot. 😀
thanks for this review, ill definitely have to check out the website you got these supplies from! in the expensive world of art supplies its always nice to find dependable suppliers who actually produce quality materials :) thank you so much!
My sister gave me some of those fine colours for my birthday and I was surprised about how well they worked! Definitely the markers you want if you can’t afford copic! ☺️
Heyy Chloe love your videos and I just want to say for the Chinese words, the words 粗細兩用 means that you can use the brush for both the brush end and the fine tip end, for 快干耐水 means that it dries super quickly and it is water resistant after it is dried, lastly 剛勁有力 means that its brush is strong, Keep on making awesome videos!
AliExpress and Wish are two of my go-tos for cheap-ish stuff and I've seen markers on their websites. I'm glad this video came up in my suggestions- it'll probably help me figure out if I'll eventually buy some of these cheaper alternatives.
some British people are just born with good teeth lol, and maybe she does care more about her teeth than most brits. it's just that most brits don't fret as much about their teeth as other first-world countries.
Chloe rose is definitely my favourite you tuber and i love the Fact that she is English like me as most of the artist I watch are American.thank you chloe rose
I enjoyed this, also I really could relate when the water pen "over flowed" and felt the exact the moment of "oh no!" Along with you, (as it sometimes happens to me) when I try something new and it responds differently at first, ....mostly because I just have to get used to how it reacts with my particular hand pressure etc... Thank you for sharing!
It's nice to have cheap art and craft supplies out there because younger artists and crafters like me can earn some money and buy supplies do more cheap art supplies hauls
oh geez I'm so happyRUclips realized I was broke and looking for art supplies from my previous searches and put this in my reccomendatios 😂 seriously this is great, my computer just broke so doing anything digitally is outta the question for now so I've been working in drawing traditionally more and better and having some decent supplies would save my life agh this is beautiful thank you thank you
Thank you for this!! I used Wish for a few Christmas presents last year. I always hesitate to buy that cheap international stuff but I was really pleased with the items I got. I've been eyeballing the art supplies. A Lot. I need some of those markers. The Micron style in particular. I bought a package of Artist's Loft from Michael's some time ago and they didn't last at all. Dried out completely. In fact, I think I only got to use them once so I haven't wanted to spend money on them again because they aren't cheap for what you get.
I too have bought a bunch of art supplies from that site- the copic style markers weren't as lightfast as copics, about ten of the pink and purple I got faded to the same light pink in a matter of weeks. The pigma microns I got we're definitely not water resistant, and I find the tips soften a lot quicker than the real ones. I got a set of koh-i-noor watercolour pencils and they work really well though. 😀
It really helps me a lot watch and listens to you, for (especially) your accent, and this one is veery interesting, i love your videos and your jokes!!
You can definitely use those colorful brush markers for lettering! It the same as using a regular brush or water brush which is what I normally use for my lettering. :) I'll definitely have to look into buying some of this stuff!
Will definitely make another like this! I ordered a bunch of supplies from Wish.com based on a recommendation from a few people in the comments! It'll take a few weeks for it to get here so expect another one sometime in September! :)

It says : also for calligraphy. Can be used for both fine or thick strokes. Fast drying and water resistant. Two head modern brush.

Chloe Rose Art it's basically a cheat brush pen for Chinese calligraphy
celine yong nt rly, we dont use thin markers for chinese calligraphy
pearlyn lee oh, I was only talking about the brush tip. The pen can also be used to write greeting cards depending on the ink since calligraphy ink doesn't transfer well on glossy paper
I think Chloe might have a slight obsession with markers since she calls everything in this video a marker xD
...ooppsss

these cheap art supplies on youtube now. Thank you! 😄👌
no problem! I was very impressed :)
I LOVE YOUR ART AND YOUR VIDEOS!!!You are very funny and I live for that! I love art and I watch you while doing it! Stay Amazing Chloe!!!😊
~LOVE~ the little pieces you did. Especially the stitch one-he’s my favorite
You didn't mention the website in the video but some how I knew it was aliexpress. lol How long did you have to wait for that stuff to ship? I've peeked that place often but I can't handle ship times that involve the word "months." 😂 I'm impatient I need my stuff teleported into my hands after purchase! 😂😂😂
I think the longest I ended up waiting for was about 2.5 weeks! Everything came pretty fast for me in that regard!
Garnet I'm the exact same with shipping 😂😂 I once bought prisms colour pencils and the shipping time said "5 weeks" it only ended up being 4 days lmao
Garnet I used Aliexpress before XD it always takes SO LONG to arrive
Thought it was Wish lol.
*"These are.. I'm not gonna say pigmented, but they're pigmented"*
Good to know, Chloe! Thank you for trying them out and telling us about them!
❤️ the Bob Ross quote "there's no mistakes, just happy accidents".
Thank you! I've seen lots of art goodies online there at AliExpress but wasn't sure if I would get good quality or not being the prices are so much less expensive! I have much more confidence now!
Try not to use alcohol markers on graphite (I've probably already commented this but...)
•chiiru chuu• the graphite shows through the markers:/
BeardedBarley1 no blending with Copic markers with themselves doesn’t stain the bibs because of how they work. They temporarily pick up the color which enables blending but they don’t stain.
I love how honest and unbiased this review was, verrry enjoyable!! ^o^
"Feel like such a beauty guru" hahahahah and that's why I subbed to you ... They all do that don't they lol
I am so glad that you bought these, I've been tempted.
A great alternative to Copic markers are called Touchfive markers. I use them and they are quite good and I look almost exactly the same as Copics, except they have a fine point instead of brush.
Warcraft Mercat normal Copics have a fine point as well.
Rbin Lmijer no, they have a brush nib and a chisel nib.
Copics don’t come with a fine tip but they do have 9 interchangeable tips you can change out and use on your copics so I’m sure they do exist :)
Thank you for leaving everything in the description!!
I appreciate it so much
Chloe!! you should try out Tombow Irojiten Colored Pencils, They are SO GOOD! I got to try them at a Friend's Place and they were Genuine Heaven, So I'm getting em on my birthday XD
I'll have a look into them! Thanks for the recommendation :D
Your reaction to the water brush failing, haha! Priceless!!! Thanks for sharing this; It will be a great to find affordable alternatives for practice until I can afford the pricey stuff! Love your channel! You're so talented!!! :)
chloe can you please do a video on what subjects you chose at school and things like that
This was Great Chloe👏
I'm glad you can still buy cheap and not have it be cheap! Yaaaay😊👍
I used them for my bullet journal :)

LIFESAVER OH MY GOSH. Ive been saving up and working toward getting stuff like this but theyre all so expensive. Im so glad you did this because now I know the cheaper ones are similar and work just as well. Im excited to blow my paycheck now haha
2:08 Can someone please tell her that Tinkerbell is a cartoon🤣😂🤣
I love how you actually try the cheap products and are not biased towards the more expansive ones, as some other youtubers are. You don't just try to find the flaws of the cheaper supplies, but actually just "review" them as if they are not different. Sorry for my English, not my first language, so I'm not sure if this made sense..
Chloe: “im not going to say pigmented but they are very pigmented”
Me: you just said pigmented twice
Dont stop doing art and growing! From one artist to another
is it hipster to paint with actual brushes these days?
Virtuosyc, yes. You must buy a machine to paint modernly. If you finger paint, you cave man
Yes, Yes it is.
I always get so happy when I see you've uploaded!
A month ago i bought a PLATINUM SIGNATURE BRUSH PEN and i freaking loveeeeeeeeeeeee they do not fray. But mine run out of ink so yesterday i bought two!
This was the best comparison I've found! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
whaaaat is she doiiiiing putting copic markers on pencil im sCREAMING
it's only for a quick little sketch in a notebook for the sake of the video, it didnt ruin the marker dont worry :P
Maraden And?
BeardedBarley1 Actually, it's because Copic markers can smudge the graphite and just ruin the whole thing so it's not advised to do so.
Who cares. As long as you get a good art affect that's all that matters.
Thanks for your video.
I've been watching a lot of "cheap" art supplies review and comparison videos recently. I use some of the cheap stuff myself from time to time and depending on what I'm working on. Thank you so much for the demo! Helpful and fun to watch as always! Cheers!
5:28 *GASP* she's not a natural blonde.... that has to be the tiniest amount of bleach to dye that hair
Actually Tinkerbell does have blond eyebrows. Look it up
Hi Chloe I really hope you do more of these types of video's and by the way I love the eyeshadow you have on !!!! beautiful !!!
Notification squad where you at!!!!!!!!
katie newton nah fam I'm on the always on YT Squad
Here!
katie newton I actually prefer the fiber-brush pens more for lettering than some of the soft felt tip brush pens.
thanks for this review, ill definitely have to check out the website you got these supplies from! in the expensive world of art supplies its always nice to find dependable suppliers who actually produce quality materials :) thank you so much!
Why is every good artist left handed??
Eva Tsolo ow that hurts as a right handed person who thinks their art isn't completely terrible
:(
are you saying every right-handed artist is no good?
Eva Tsolo that isn’t always the case, but most artists are left handed because you are using the left side of the brain, which is the creative side.
I’m a right handed “artist” (you can tell from my videos)
My sister gave me some of those fine colours for my birthday and I was surprised about how well they worked! Definitely the markers you want if you can’t afford copic! ☺️
Not first!
So glad I found your channel! I love that you draw Disney characters and this video was very informative on art supplies in general! :)
Why do you look like Laura Marano?!?
°0° ( Ally Dawson - Austin & Ally )
The thumbnail is proof ;)
Only her accent is different.
Wafa Pyaari because she was born like that
I honestly can't remotely see that but if that's a compliment I appreciate it 😂
Heyy Chloe love your videos and I just want to say for the Chinese words, the words 粗細兩用 means that you can use the brush for both the brush end and the fine tip end, for 快干耐水 means that it dries super quickly and it is water resistant after it is dried, lastly 剛勁有力 means that its brush is strong, Keep on making awesome videos!

I am always looking for cheap alternatives. Thank you for this. Would love to see more.
don't buy more "copic" markers they don't blend as well as copic uhm--I mean TERRIBLY
AliExpress and Wish are two of my go-tos for cheap-ish stuff and I've seen markers on their websites. I'm glad this video came up in my suggestions- it'll probably help me figure out if I'll eventually buy some of these cheaper alternatives.
I'm soooo confused right now; you sound british, but your teeth look fine... ?
This is a joke right
some British people are just born with good teeth lol, and maybe she does care more about her teeth than most brits. it's just that most brits don't fret as much about their teeth as other first-world countries.
Nothing like casual xenophobia to spice up a comment section, eh?
Lee'd you better be joking
Your videos are the best! Love your sense of humor and I learn a ton too! Keep up the good work!
So glad to hear that! Thank you so much! :)

Thank you so much! I have been trying to find cheap art supplies and this was really helpful!
oh geez I'm so happyRUclips realized I was broke and looking for art supplies from my previous searches and put this in my reccomendatios 😂 seriously this is great, my computer just broke so doing anything digitally is outta the question for now so I've been working in drawing traditionally more and better and having some decent supplies would save my life agh this is beautiful thank you thank you
so glad this helped! Hope you manage to get a decent amount of cheap supplies to have fun with :)
I can't stop watching your videos! You are so cute and funny!
In fact, I think I only got to use them once so I haven't wanted to spend money on them again because they aren't cheap for what you get.
ahhhh~ This was so pigmen- I mean, helpful! Haha, we love you, girl, you always help us find these cheaper alternatives!
haha thank you! Hope it helped!
Really great comparison video - thank you!!!!
Thanks for this video, some of these supplies actually look really intriguing, and I'll certainly consider trying them!
definitely worth a try, they are ridiculously cheap so well worth it :)
Omg thank you! I wanted to start coloring with markers, but I couldn't buy copics! First video I've seen from you and definitely subbing.
It really helps me a lot watch and listens to you, for (especially) your accent, and this one is veery interesting, i love your videos and your jokes!!
thank you! I appreciate that greatly :)
Thank you so much for sharing about this website! Great prices!
You can definitely use those colorful brush markers for lettering! It the same as using a regular brush or water brush which is what I normally use for my lettering. :) I'll definitely have to look into buying some of this stuff!
Thank you for sharing this.can't believe the liners were so cheap and free shipping!i needed new 0.05's.they dry out so fast.
I ALWAYS have this issue with Microns! They dry out ridiculously fast for me and I kept thinking I was getting a bad batch haha
