I just calculated the cost of their products - its barely 40+ ...so.. others do a much better job showing value of their boxes imo and picking products that dont make me want to go calculate the value of the box.
I really like how paletteful packs and scrawlrbox and artsnacks really think about how the supplies could work together and give you enough to make a complete art piece with just those supplies!
The second I saw the infamous Smart Art box I instantly said "Oh Chloe, no no no no no girl." I was very surprised that they gave you more than 3 elementary level art supplies. Even with this review I would never in a million years trust Smart Art. They could have gotten better, but I'm personally not going to risk throwing my money away.

I think you watched a different video - Paletteful Packs, ArtSnacks AND Smart Art had 0 brush pens. Only 2 out of 5 had them, and Scrawlr's are debatable since they are actually watercolour pens, not traditional inking brush pens.
And now I challenge you to make an artwork using every single art supply of all of the boxes together! Think this might be difficult, but you could make it work! ;)

Melissa davis the last scrawlrbox I got was back in october and all that was in it was just 8 different black fineliners/markers in slightly different sizes (for Inktober I’m guessing), and it was REALLY disappointing, especially since most of their boxes already come with one or two pens so I already had like 80 microns lmao I cancelled the subscription after that because I finally had to admit that I hadn’t really enjoyed any of the boxes I’d gotten in a long time And the prompts were always things that I never wanted to do lol
If you ever want to try something out with resin or clay, Sophie and Toffee makes really fun themed monthly boxes! I recently subscribed to them (I’ve wanted to do more with resin for a while now), and I really like the monthly projects; they aren’t overly complicated to do.
The paletteful packs was my favorite out of all of those too. Also Skillshare is great, I've been teaching on there for a year now. Congrats on the sponsorship 😄

holy smokes they gave you a bunch of pearl ex in that calligraphy box! you can do a TON with those besides calligraphy! clay, painting, resin, paper crafts... when you buy the actual sets they always come with a little booklet of project ideas in lots of different media. a little goes a long way too so the little 3 gram jars are a pretty hefty "sample;" they come in larger jars too. they're really useful and so pretty!! i love them!!
Thank you for making sense out of all those subscription boxes 😊 For international shipping though, I find it's less value for money. Shipping it seems is free within the USA except for Scrawler box which is UK based

That would be cool AF. Fruit roll up for paper, pretzel sticks dipped in colored chocolate to look like colored pencils, a marzipan eraser... I’d totally go for that.

I love subscription boxes. I get three a month. I have paletteful pack premier, sketchbox, and artsnacks. Of the three, my favorite is paletteful pack. I too am looking forward to my jazza box, 🙃.
What i like about Sketchbox because of themes, tutorials on line, and if you only do the basic you can go back on line and buy a premium and double the supplies that you like.

The Ecoline brush pens have a reversible brush nib too! If you ruin the brush you can just flip it around and it’s like new! I work at Blick and they told us this when we got them in our store!
The Ecoline brushes are quite alright for their price! I have a couple. But they don't quite compare to Tombow and Sakura, the other brushpens I have. But Ecoline is way more affordable and a great choice for those wanting to try brushpens!
The gelatos and art crayons are water soluble. Love my gelatos! Thanks for this, I awaiting my Jazza box, too! I'm so excited. Im really interested in an ongoing subscription box and i think I'm leaning towards Scrawlr for sure.

Smart Art box really stepped up their game! I’m impressed with what they gave you tbh. Aside from that these all had some pretty cool things, even some stuff I didn’t know about!
You should do a piece of art with each boxes items to see if a completed piece of art is possible without using stuff that you didn’t receive. Would be an interesting series and you’d get to use every item you received

I have watched a lot of videos with these boxes. The one that has seemed to offer the best deal was always the Paletteful Packs. Scrawlrbox would have to be my second favorite. I wish I could afford to try these myself, but maybe someday.
Hey Chole! Love the Channel. For the pearl pigments, you can use them on "polymer clay" before baking it gives your pieces that " WOW" factor also adding them to paints is fun too. Hope one day I'll be able to purchase an art box xD

I would love to see you try a Let's Make Art box! It's not really an art supply box, but it's a water color subscription kit. Every month you get 4 projects and the liquid watercolor to complete those projects as well as 8 sheets of watercolor paper. You also get a step by step guide and a print of the finished piece. Every week the Let's Make Art youtube channel does a tutorial for that weeks project!
Smart art is the most versatile one. The powdered pigments can be used as opaque or shimmery watercolors, used as inks, used with brushes or The pen. Tgevpen can be used for different drawing, used as masking fluid fine line application. Dust the pigment powders over stencils on a jelly plate, on and on and on. They are so versatile and go a long, long way. Plus smart art does a totally different theme with project suggestion and different supplies every month. Oils, watercolor, acrylics, inks, markers. Brush pens and they all coordinate.😁
I would love to see direct comparisons between the regular & premium boxes of the same month. I gotta admit I expected more from the premium boxes. The powdered pigments are an interesting idea though.

It's great for Inktober. You don't have to worry about just using the same pen every day.

Gum Arabic is the binder in watercolors, so you can just use those pigments from the second set as watercolors.

I would love to see direct comparisons between the regular & premium boxes of the same month. I gotta admit I expected more from the premium boxes. The powdered pigments are an interesting idea though.
