proud as hell to have helped design this beauty's flight controls. Especially with that paint job! Thanks for all the G650 videos, it inspires me to keep doing my job.
Congrats on that superb job! Right to be proud! I think the paint scheme has some similarities with the good old BEA Comet 4B. Thanks a lot for watching. Cheers, Matthias
***** GOOD OLD COMET? Are you kidding us? The Comet was an absolute disaster, literally. The apply named "NIMROD" was based on the failed Comet from the 1950's...where are they now? ANSWER: soda cans.
Somebody said it looks like an Orca whale... I think it's true! I am more than lucky because several G650 have visited Bern recently. The next video will be released soon. Karin, wishing you a great weekend!
Best landing i have seen, and he had to do a steep approach to descend over the hill. Incredibly short take off. Now if i only had 75 million or so to spare. Thanks for the natural sound and great video.
Wait a minute; around 2:25 - 2:28 when it was turning onto the runway I noticed the deployed thrust reverser of engine-1, after entering the runway the reverser was stowed. Is assymetric (differential) thrust reverse used for making turns (tight turns that this one didn't seem to be)? Strange to see that.
Sometimes they use left, right or both reverser while taxi. They use the thrust reverser instead of the wheel brakes. So they remain cool and fully operational when needed. Braking excessively does not only wear out the wheel brakes more quickly but increases the danger of glowing hot wheel brakes.
Wow, that never occurred to me. So, its cheaper and safer to burn that little extra fuel on controlled deceleration than to risk having hot brakes that may not be RTO-capable. My next question is "how much reverse thrust is used during these decelerate-while-turning manoeuvres", a little or a lot?
Ahmad Dan-Hamidu I like your well-considered questions. Based on my observations, the reverse thrust is used only a little while taxi. But I cannot give the precise answer because I am not a pilot.
Nice landing. Flaps down, Speed brakes up and the sound of the powerful reverse thrust. All of that performed by a very good looking machine. Thanks for that, buddy.
wonderful aeroplane lovely livery - superb video and sound capture and great shots of the approach, landing showing the operation of the reverse thrust and flaps on the wings (excuse my ignorance on the correct names!) and lovely sounds from those engines and shot of the climb away - also noticed you captured the moment the landing strip lights came on I thought the pilot did a superb touchdown on landing
Wow that G650 is amazing ! I will never forget the first time I flew on a G4 for the first time with a music producer friend all I kept thinking is this is the life !
I have to agree with you here, the nicest livery I have seen on a business jet. Lucky capture. They do sell a lot of coffee, so can afford such luxury.
I wouldn't say no to have a coffee in that jet! :) Thank you very much! Cool that you read my info. Most people don't, but ask questions which they could find in the text ;) I am more than lucky because several G650 have visited Bern recently. Next video will be released soon. Have a great day!
This jet is the closest thing to teleport in existence. Imagine waking up one day at home in London and feeling like having sushi in Kyoto. You could do that with this plane.
By the time I get to Tokyo I would have eaten three or four meals already and most likely wouldn't feel like having sushi anymore. It's not even close to teleportation.
This G650 is really something special....the livery has such a classy look. I think it would look good on a DH Comet 4, and a VC10..just for example....very, very smart. Great upload......Steve.
Thank you very much, Steve! Yes, it has some similarities with Comet 4... good old, gorgeous airliner! I am more than lucky because several G650 have visited Bern recently. The next G650 video will show M-USIC. It will be released soon. Have a great day, Matthias
+matthiashaenni The Comet failure was because of the square windows which failed under pressurization. This disaster let to rounded corners on ALL airline windows since. So, it has its place in history. Other than that, it was a great jet. But nobody wanted to fly on it after the crashes, even after it was fixed. Sad.
Have my charter flight ready at Boston Logan International. As i need this plane for my 2 week "bucket list" trip overseas too Japan. Flying into Haneda. Thanks guys.
1) That is a relatively short airfield at 5,500' for large corporate jets. 2) Gulfstreams are always overpowered. 3) Point #2 is always a good thing in the aviation world. 4) Awesome video!
Hi, I know nothing about aviation. What do you mean when you say 'overpowered'? Do you mean that the engines are usually underperforming compared to the tasks that they are normally assigned to? Thanks!
Shaun Moon - Good question! It generally means that the engines on the aircraft are more powerful than what the aircraft really needs for its design, even in the most demanding conditions like high altitude and hot takeoffs (both which reduce the effective takeoff performance of an aircraft). Think of it as a sedan with say 250hp that gets the job done well vs. one with 350hp. that is a rocket. Of course pilots will tell you that there is no such thing has having too much power (or too many engines).
I have been jetblasted by this plane! it parks right by a parking lot by my school and when they run up the engine you can stand in the lot and get some awesome wind!
WOW !!!!!!! What a beautiful aircraft!!!! The black and white color detail reminds me of the whale that used to be at SeaWorld in Orlando Florida!! 🐋 ( forgot his name ) Awesome landing and take-off with beautiful scenery 😍!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Gorgeous bird and great video. When I have my G650 done I think I will use a very similar livery ... but in matte finish just to stand out in the crowd where every aircraft in sight is high gloss :)
Never tire of this video. Perfect landing, short rollout and a beautiful short takeoff. Great catch!

take it easy guy, it looked and sounded great which is what made it popular with spotters.
+mikel1982 So Mike, since you helped design the controls on these 650s, what do you think of the sidesticks on the 500 and 600?
That is one stunning biz jet, the G650 is beautiful! Really cool livery as well. Great catch and nice spotting location.
Thank you very much! I am more than lucky because several G650 have visited Bern recently. Next video will be released soon. Have a great weekend!
I know that the G650 almost flies by itself but it was a very smooth landing. Lovely bird. Thank you for posting.
You are welcome!
Great Landing and takeoff,It is always a pleasure to see this type of video, thank you.
0:45 I like the way the landing gear shocks smoothly compress, smooth ride. Beautiful aircraft.
Matthias, you did an awesome job again! Beautiful 650 and great camera work, as usual! Big Like!!
2:44 Great shot and those engines look huuuuge!
Thank you very much! It is an amazing ultra long range jet. Yes, those engines are massive and very powerful! Have a great weekend!
Absolute Beauty, hope she's still gracing the runways.
Thank you!
ULTIMATE BEAUTY ... how could it get more beautiful than that?
Thank you for treating us to such divinity 〭 〭 〭

Thank you John! Much appreciate your kind words. It was absolutely stunning to see this impressive Gulfstream G650!
Beautiful, beautiful aircraft. Excellent video too. Thank you.
Love the video, the plane and all of your videos! Amazing Matthias, keep up the great work!
Thank you very much for your kind words. I was very happy to spot this awesome G650. Have a nice day!
As a frequent Starbucks customer, I contributed to this beautiful plane. And all I got out of it is this RUclips video?
and a cup of crap coffee....
Very beautiful jet whitch is magnificently painted and also professionally driven.
Thank you!
Wow, beautiful! I love that he uses his thrust reverser for tight turns.

Thats ok, I think I get the picture now...brilliant and innovative thinking by contemporary pilots.
This is just too science for me! I'm just happy you have such high interest. Keep it up, you'll only have to except, you are a wonderful bright light.
amazing video
Thank you!
That jet has some serious take off.I live 12 miles from where the Gulfstream jets are built in Savannah, Georgia.
I like Gulfstream jets. They are so impressive!
This one is a frequent visitor to Seattle, and I have some pictures of it landing. Love this plane!
Oh very cool! Thanks for letting me know. I hope it will fly over the big pond to Switzerland once again. Cheers Matt

Got to be one of if not the most beautiful jet aircraft made to date.
My God what a beautiful aircraft. That has to be one of my favorite liveries to date.
BEAUTIFUL!!!
Nice landing. Flaps down, Speed brakes up and the sound of the powerful reverse thrust. All of that performed by a very good looking machine. Thanks for that, buddy.
What a beautiful aircraft! At dusk too! Great catch Matt!

Seems like a super smooth landing ..Not the first time AND the weather was good
Exceptionally beutiful and potent; first class video recording too.

That's about 10 long hours in a plane. It's a bit tiring...
Not with that great cabin altitude a tv, bed, and attractive flight attendant.
By the time I get to Tokyo I would have eaten three or four meals already and most likely wouldn't feel like having sushi anymore. It's not even close to teleportation.
Really awesome video mate! Liked!
Thank you very much!
WOW that landing was so perfect.
Such a beautiful video!!!! Nice. Well done!
Thank you very much!
That is one gorgeous jet!
Thanks!
That’s one beautiful jet.
Stunning catch mate!
I worked for Gulfstream for 13 yrs, if you only knew what they can do even the GII and GIIB's would blow your mind.
When the g280 shows its max cruise altitude is 41,000ft... how high can planes REALLY go without risk? 5000 feet higher? 10,000?
that's a massive engine for that beautiful plane
I like how the pilot helps it turn by deploying one thrust reverser and goosing the other. Whips that baby right on around!
This G650 is really something special....the livery has such a classy look. I think it would look good on a DH Comet 4, and a VC10..just for example....very, very smart. Great upload......Steve.

Ah thanks Joe..I remember reading about this some time ago.
Gulfstream aviation engineering is the absolute best in the world.
I saw, I liked, I subbed. What a Classy Classic Livery.
Elegance in the Sky. True beauty
Thanks!
Beautiful. The engines and wings seem large for the size airplane... I love it
love the spoilers on the turbines that's so damn cool and best livery I've seen of a g650.. thanks for this awesomeness mathias
Have my charter flight ready at Boston Logan International. As i need this plane for my 2 week "bucket list" trip overseas too Japan. Flying into Haneda. Thanks guys.
The G650 is my fav. They get up off the runway in short order!
Retro-classy paintjob. Nice!
Just marvel at the size of those engines.. The trust swoops that bad boy up there in no time..
