- The HondaJet T7-APG is seen landing at Bern in Switzerland arriving from London Biggin Hill. After a short fuel-stop the HondaJet is seen taking-off bound for Chania in Crete, Greece. The pilots had to struggle with crosswinds. Cold winds and a sharp drop in temperatures have brought the first snow to the Swiss Alps.
The Honda HA-420 HondaJet is powered by two GE Honda HF120 turbofans unusually mounted on pylons above the wing.

I doubt I will ever be able to afford a jet! But I have owned Honda motorcycles, automobiles, and even two of their snowblowers, and none of their equipment has ever disappointed me in any way. Always well thought out and executed machines. If the jet is of the same cloth, it will still be flying long from now!
Do like me, buy the Honda Jet mod and fly on Flight Simulator 2020!

Many thanks! When you look at the plane from the front, it reminds me of a small crocodile.
Those are the windshield heaters. You can see them on some cars these days too. The loaded version of the Mazda6 has them.
Liked the cone tail that opened after touchdown reminds le the Fokker or the BAe 146.... great catch of this mini jet 👍✅
Those are the optional speed brakes. It was cool to see them deployed.

@@matthiashaenni Yes Matt. Some years ago, while reading one of the aviation rags, I saw that thing and was just blown away.
I've been a motorcyclist since 1970. Back in '80s, Honda designed and built a 500cc, V-4 engine with OVAL pistons! It featured twin con rods per cyl., 8 valves the diameter of your index finger!
If you aren't aware of it, you ought to check it out. It was the NR 500. After seeing that thing as a 30 yr. old back then, I realized that Honda was an engineering juggernaut!
The engine mounting method on this aircraft is an example of their unique, "out of the box" thinking.

Excellent video ! Suspense, delight as well as amusement have accompanied me while watching. It is always such delight, how well you capture all angles of the various planes you are filming. The shape & livery of this HondaJet brought me amusement and actually made me smile. Air turbulence is always scary and causes suspense. Have gone through several in big Jets during my many Atlantic crossings, but never was as afraid as I was in a small plane ;o)

I saw that VisionJet just released a similar color they call anthracite. It's a solid color on the whole aircraft. Looks really good. Love the livery on this HondaJet.

When was younger in mid 70's , my father brings me to my local airport BZR/LFMU BEZIERS , France to watch landing and take-off th e VFW-FOKKER 614 from TAT. similar upper wing mounted engine!!!!!!!!!!! but what anoise when taking-off
Wow I have never seen a VFW-FOKKER 614. But it must have been a fantastic experience 😊
and many months after this plane was replaced by Fokker 27 or FairchildF227(US version) and F28-1000,
my maiden flight was in1978 with F28

Vielen Dank! Ja ich finde der HondaJet auch sehr elegant, obwohl ich das Design zuerst etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig fand. Laut dem Piloten kommt die Triebwerksanordnung auf den Flügeln zu weniger Vibrationen und auch weniger Lärm innerhalb der Kabine.
@@matthiashaenni Vielen Dank für Deine Anmerkung zur Geräuschkulisse im Flugzeug. Die Stiele für die Aufhängung der Triebwerke sind auch besonders, was man sich nicht so ohne weiteres erklären kann. (Schränkung nach innen) Sehr interessante Flugzeug. Diese Anordung der Triebwerke gab es schon mal bei der VFW 614. Konnte sich durchsetzen.
Bitte weiter so schöne Aufnahmen ohne ruckeln und sinnlose Schnitte. Das macht Spass zuzuschauen

Tough to tell as the camera angle is deceiving, but it looked like he dropped it onto the runway. In my view, if the pilot didn’t bend or break any metal on the airplane, it was a good landing.
And if the number of landings equals the number of take offs, it’s a good day :-)
Thanks! Yes, it was a good landing with some nasty crosswind. 🙂 But the pilots mastered it well although the welcome on earth looked a bit hard.

So to give some context it was a heavy gusting crosswind with also an element of tail wind to avoid doing the circle to land, with the added element of some wind sheer and a short run-way so yes it was a hard landing and the key was to get it down and slowed down without any delay. No reverse thrust or fancy auto braking like the challenger that landed afterwards!!!
Oh and also it’s a steeper than normal approach into Bern at 4 degrees..

Double jet engine can increase the volume of fuel so.... its can b more uneffective more than one jet engine even in hi speed. But for double jet engine more stabile in highest altitude more in hi speed.

An unusual design with regard to engine mounting. I wonder what the advantage is? Quieter inside?
Lower wings means greater aerodynamic stability. Less likely to have random bits on the tarmac fly into the engine on landing or takeoff; possibly suitable for landing on unpaved surfaces eg grass or unpaved roads

@@matthiashaenni something about moving the World with a big enough lever...;☆》 the applied torque is a positive force in flight.. it's a brilliant idea and beautiful too... form and function 👌 the little holes around the intake is another where people are looking at the same problem from different areas of expertise make the task easier because different ideas are good... that's where new technology comes from

Thanks! Yes there are quite a lot of birds around. But airport police chase birds off the runway with a starter gun. This makes loud bangs. It really helps to protect passenger safety by reducing animal strikes. It was super cool to see this HondayJet.

Check out the engines - attached to pylons which are on top of the wings. That's due to the very low wing clearance. Is it the only aircraft with pylons on top.
It is currently the only aircraft with that engine configurations.
