  • According to the online journal "business insider.com" (November 2nd, 2022), Billionaire Elon Musk has placed an order for this particular Gulfstream G700. The report did not state if or when Musk has yet purchased the jet.
    The G700 is the "stretched" version of the G650, and aims to rival the Bombardier 7500 in size. It measures 109 feet and 10 inches in length, and 25 feet and five inches in height, according to Gulfstream. The G700 has a range of 7,500 nautical miles, which means the jet can fly from Singapore to San Francisco non-stop. The G700 has a cruising speed of Mach 0.925 - just under the speed of sound - per the same Gulfstream spec sheet above.
    Whoever owns this aircraft - I think we can all agree it looks stunning! Enjoy this film of N702GD receiving clearance to taxi and takeoff on a Runway 24 Departure from Farnborough to Edinburgh on 8th May 2023. Cheers! Steve.

    In my past years of having the opportunity to work in Aviation. My boss at the time ( Airport Manager, ) assigned me a detail, which required me to the private hangar facility of the Johnson and Johnson's pharmaceutical's (3) Gulfstreams.
    The wonderful staff allowed me a tour inside one. Just sitting in one of the seats would be something I will never forget. I've been playing the Powerball and Mega Millions ever since.

    How easy do you think it would be for a tornado, hurricane or even extreme winds to absolutely disintegrate an airplane hanger? How much wind resistance is there against 25' tall, straight up sheet metal walls?
    Also, how far would an airplane fly if it's hanger were destroyed? lol. So in the future, don't be surprised if million dollar airplanes are gone in minutes.

      @montygti Hi - I’m glad you spotted this. It’s really noticeable on another of my films showing another Gulfstream ruclips.net/video/ECCoRACw17s/видео.html
      I assume using the thrust deflectors like this is a form of braking without excessive use of the wheel brakes which could then heat up? Interesting phenomenon for sure!

    • @jaso5114
      @jaso5114 Год назад +5

      Very common thing that is done by crews on alot of jets, not just Gulfstreams. It serves two purposes. 1) the crew tests out the reversers during taxi to make sure they work, and 2) it's a way of slowing the jet down without using the brakes excessively. These jets can pick up speed pretty quick even with the engines at idle
