- "Monster Mansion" is a dark boat ride at Six Flags Over Georgia that boasts the most audioanimatronics on a ride excluding the Disney theme parks. It also sets the record for most interactive 4D effects on a ride (things like bubbles, water, etc.). However, unlike other water rides like Disney's various iterations of Splash Mountain, this does not feature a drop.
This literally looks like when you dream about being at an amusement park.
That would be hella scary if the ride stopped in the middle of it

They used to stop the boat on that little lift hill in the middle of the marsh ALL THE TIME. I loved the hell out of it.

man, when i went on this thing for the first time, i was 13 and thought it was just some kind of kiddie ride that was gonna be a fun romp.
then the second act happened and my friends and i were thrown for the biggest loop of our lives.

NicolasHerps same I got so uncomfortable with this ride! My shoulder blades were up so high it physically ached when it was over. When the air blew into my face, I literally jumped and asked my boyfriend to hold my hand and I didn't look at the rest of the ride after the creepy stuff happened and being in the dark. We were in the front of the boat and I screamed so loud at the horn he asked me if I was being murdered 😂😂😂
That was pretty messed up to throw an M.Night Shamalan twist at the end of a kid’s ride like that. I’m 26 yrs old and even that scared tf outta me.

I'm 41 years old and this ride was there at 6flags when I was just a kid! Was always one of mine and my brother favorites. RIP Joshua. Dad and I are taking your daughter Tuesday for her first 6flags trip. I know you'll be with us in spirit brother as I take her on a stroll through our favorite rides. We miss and love you dearly bro.

Me and my sisters rode this last year, the first part was cool but after going into that second part we all had our heads down til the end 😂😂😂😂 I'm scared of the dark and animatronics

For some reason this doesn't seem like a ride that fits at 6 flags
It's one of the only indoor rides at Six Flags Over Georgia, and one of the few that younger children could ride. It doesn't fit well for roller coaster enthusiasts, but it still attracts long lines at times due to the amount of children under the required height limit for roller coasters that have inversions.
Mouse Mountaineers I thought children would be scared of it too
Some are, but it is supposed to be a more "family-oriented" ride than some of the larger coasters. For many first-timers reading the description on Six Flag's website, it is marketed as a whimsical place with bubbles and special effects. The Marsh can be scary to younger children, however, which makes the first part of the ride slightly deceiving.

Georgia, MIDDLE OF SUMMER, and an indoor SHADED ride.... now tell me the REAL reason it has long lines.
I love it because I've been riding it most of my life, but the real reason for the long lines is to GET OUT OF THE HEAT.

This ride is over 40 years old. Still holds up in person.

@Cam Ryder I noticed some voiced being the same from the 80's. The Marshall has definitely been changed. The air horn at the end seems unnecessary.

Jada Alexander Yeah, I'm 13 and rode it for the first time about a week ago. I was closing my eyes most of the time thinking there was gonna be a jumpscare or something. I also kept saying "Do they seriously think this is good for kids?"
@@Pikmi_YT Y'know, I remember my first and so far _only_ time going this ride (when it was previously named Monster Plantation) as a little boy with my mom and dad; probably 3 or 4 at the time. I only remembered so little from the ride, but I'm pretty sure I was scared throughout the whole thing. I never recalled a lot of the animatronics nor have I recalled the second act having the horn, the almost total darkness, and then the sudden plunge! 😮 Then again, why on Earth would I have wanted to anyway? 😒 This video showed _much_ more to the ride than what I can identify seeing when I was little. I'm 21 now, and since that time, I never wanted to ride it _ever_ again no matter what my parents would say. Thanks to this video, I have a more valid point for staying firm on that decision. 😞

I went there on a family vacation in the early '80s. Monster Plantation was so weirdly captivating. I still remember it.

Watching this ride through took me straight back to the summer of 98'. What a magical visit to six flags that summer in particular. I always dug the animatronics, scenery, and New Orleans jazz playing throughout the ride. Brought a tear to my eye because of the sheer nostalgia

Favorite ride of all time when I was a kid! When you are young and see the monsters in the end, they look HUGE! Combination of the forces perspective and imagination! Great ride!

because it's a small world is a pretty cute family friendly ride for all ages, you exepted to see countries and cultures around the world, and that's what on the small world ride, but this ride is just really dark, poorly animated animatronics, and a very dark creepy part you absolutely did not exept, i don't see what's unnerving about getting stuck on small world though

The very first time I rode this ride I was soooooo scared but the next couple of times it wasn't that bad but they have added some new stuff to it as well be- cause when I went on it years ago it didn't have the bubbles and all that other stuff

Ohhh boooy. Being a kid this stuff freaked me out. The animatronics and their gross movements and that dark shit at the end implanted a very deep level of revulsion and fear.

I went to six flags July 26, 2016 but I didn't ride that ride cause I wanted to ride other rides

My husband and I took our first trip to six flags in 2012. We rode all the cool and exciting rides first. To take a break from the sun and rest our legs, we decided to go on the friendly kid ride Monster Mansion, thinking it’d be similar to something like Its A Small World. We were so wrong...

Why can’t they fix the timing on the camera at the beginning and the cannon at the end? When I was a kid, when the sheriff said “Ready aim fire” the cannon blew the doors open, allowing the riders to escape the marsh. Now the timing is off so it makes no sense.

I almost got really hurt on this ride. They loaded it wrong, I almost fell out of the ride, smacked my ankle on the side and it still hurts. One of the girls in the back had to throw her hand out to the side to try to push us back up since I was already halfway out of the ride, and she nearly broke her thumb. Worst experience ever.
I'm REALLY sure that happened. Been riding this ride FOREVER and have never once seen it "loaded wrong" and I've seen some BIG people get in them boats.
Now I have seen people get hurt by being stupid and goofing off, you sure that didnt happen ?? Lol

My church college group went to Six Flags over Georgia last weekend. One of the people on my trip ( who is more familiar with the park) said that this ride smelled like feet. I didn't get to ride it. The signs made it look like a kiddie ride. Now I want to ride this even if it smells like feet.
