Wow Mike ! I hate that impending feeling of doom when a vehicle won't respond to it's controls eh. Graphite is a fine lube for these multiple metals combinations. It doesn't attract and hold dust from brake pads etc. That and grease type lubes can get really stiff in winter causing other problems. What a wonderful shout out old friend. I hope when I post this to my Facebook page you will pick up some new followers and sub's. As soon as Sophie heard you say her name she jumped over to my recliner from my wheelchair and is tuned right in on the video right now. Seems that you have another fan eh. I am honored to be up there with the rest of your RUclips friends. I most certainly found a great friend in you, eh bud. I am super glad you and Nannie enjoy the swag I sent. If you save an old brake pad (from wherever) that has been reasonably worn flat they can be fashioned to make newer pads for applications like this. Just mind the dust when sawing and drilling them. Save that dust as well. The high carbon/graphite dust makes for a good dry lube of its own eh. Thanks a bunch my friend and I will be here for your next post for sure eh. Take care and a hug for your lady Nannie too.

Thanks for that. Say hi to Sophie for me and give her a doggie treat and tell her Grampie sent it will ya!!! LOL Take care Dean and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I think we should contact the manufacturer to have the name of that little part changed from "Pad" to "Disk". It just seemed so completely natural when you called it a disk, especially about the tenth or eleventh time...that was when it really began to sink in with me :) ha ha It reminds me of the saying: "Have you ever got your tongue caught between your eye teeth and you couldn't see what you were saying?" That's an ingenious way to have mechanical brakes, with my only concern being the strength of the bent plate that makes it all happen. If it becomes distorted, it would affect performance/adjustment. Who knew how these brakes worked? Great video!

My pads were good only because my pins were locked up rusted. Break caused my 8 stapeses to close a gash in my head and a scraped-up face. I was stupid and lucky. heavy waterproof grease like white lithium grease or silicone sprays every wash and change out the nut to a fiber lock nut.
Lucky and Stupid but fixed per your vid Thanks.

Holy Moly buddy, sounds like you had a bad time for sure. Glad you're OK and that you found the issue with the brakes. My pins weren't rusted up but they were way out of calibration. I find on my MTD (it has the brake pedal right above the 'go' pedal) that sometimes when I push the brake, my foot also pushes on the 'go' pedal and that is not a good set up. Glad my video was of help and I hope this never happens to you again. Take 'er easy!!
