Why protect your privacy, when you are not doing anything illegal. this answer is dangerous and stupid. why do you lock your phone? what is going on in your house that you have to lock the doors? Linux is where all the Wiz kid enthusiasts live if I was 25 again Linux would be the player base I would be using, but now I'm 65 I just need an easy life, so it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that Linux has got some of the best programmes that are out there today.
Is it a cultural thing why most mainstream software & games aren't supported on Linux or just compatability? Bcoz Wiz kids sure but me being a musician i'de be screwed SOL if I tried to go Linux when 99% of the tools we use aren't supported

What they want to do is something new, something different.
In the past I was able to use a Floppy disk with bare bones boot ability and a small older Symantec disk editor (DE) to search and remove the Root password on Unix. Also gave the ability to to do this with most any version of Windows.
If i only knew this a few days earlyer, haha. Found an old evo860 with an windows on it, but was not able to login anymore, due to a forgotten password. Anyway, very helpfull this, i even made an flashdrive with the linux on it for futere cases!

I had Pin Password & Windows Hello Set & the stupid fucking thing kept locking me out for 2hours on a false claim of too many incorrect password attempts 🤦♂️ when I literally had my unchanged password on something in front of me 😂 fucking Microsoft 🤦♂️
@@danvalentine yeah if it keeps failing the iso corrupted mid-download. you can also do this via any linux distro with the chntpw package in the repo. there's also a way to do it if you can boot into recovery mode in windows. in Windows 11 there's a way to get there pretty easy. hold left shift, click the power button, then restart, keep holding until the screen goes blank and it should get you to where you need to be. from there you should be able to get to a cmd prompt where you can create a new account /change password with "net user "

I normally reset the password in Powershell, but this method looks faster. Thanks for the tip.

Good info and nice to see another way to reset password. Parted Magic has chntpw built into it and does the same and can be used with Ventoy.

i think theres a way using the bitlocker recovery key to get rid of bitlocker to then reset the password.
