Agree, Tyler Hoechlin is doing amazing as Sephiroth! I know some fans didn't like his performance in Remake, but if they still feel that way now after Rebirth, I don't get it. I think he's perfect.
The VA for crisis core would have been way better

Yea I was literally yelling "Fire your weapons!" at the Nibelheim villagers. That section felt unnatural. And the population of Nibelheim seemed way too large considering there's only a few buildings there.
To be fair, Sephiroth wouldn’t be affected by a bullet shot from those villager’s guns. Maybe the knew that? It did feel weird to watch, though
@@franimal86 If I was the writers, I would've let Sephiroth deflect those bullets to emphasize even more how hopeless the situation feels that not even a gun can stop Sephiroth now and Sephiroth Deflecting bullets is just cool.
@@franimal86 why? Then why there are guns in this world if bullets dont hurt anyone? Ofc in CC Zack can eat lead like american kid eat mcdonalds. Compilation make guns into some joke weapon, they do shit.
Dude 9:13 it's not Sephiroth but JENOVA, and it is not durring Nibelheim flashback. I bet You havent played OG for a LONG time. Also JENOVA-Sephiroth do it ALL THE TIME, in Cargo Ship, in Fogotten Capitol, in Shinra Mansion. In Rebirth you dont have that encounter at all.
If you were standing infront of a 7 feet tall Sephiroth and you were just stunned to do anything. Shooting him would probably be the worst thing to do. He could easily parry or dodge it.
Yep, I'm definitely on the same page about the villagers not firing at Sephiroth feeling awkward. I've heard others say the villagers might just be too terrified and confused because they regarded Sephiroth so highly and Sephiroth was just taking his time and savoring their fear.
They changed Spehiroth from this legendary terryfing swordsman into a celebrity. Also they changed how Niebelheim villagers perseve Shin-Ra solders in general. But OG was had more serious tone then Compilation overall.

Then Sephiroth kills them all because their indecisiveness disgusted him.
Tyler Hoechlin is NAILING IT as Sephiroth! I didn't warm up to him at first in Remake and it took me more than a few weeks to get used to him, but now he's my favorite voice actor, including Cody Christian! I first heard these two in Final Fantasy VII Remake in December 2020 thanks to this clip: ruclips.net/video/E4LnQNYnm54/видео.html
It was the first clip I EVER watched of Cody and Tyler's performances in Remake! I was blown away at their performance during the first part of the Nibelheim flashback for the Remake series when Cloud encounters Sephiroth in the alley. Tyler's my favorite actor for Remake.

yeah, OG can be goofy at times but overall Rebirth felt like a cartoon based on adult movie like Robocop animated series. At least this time we got some blood insand of what the hell we had in Remake where Barret bleeded smoke wtf (maybe that was another timeline too..... damn you Nomura!).

Imo Sephiroth is too weak in rebirth, especially since we also see him failing to kill a weapon, be unimpressive against the midgard Zolom, and after kicking his ass in both remake and Rebirth. "Finally" facing him in part 3 is going to be so anti-climactic it kinda saddens me.
How is two shotting the boss you just took the time to beat underwhelming?? This is isn’t an insult or invite for an argument I’m just genuinely curious
You are forgetting one crucial detail explained in the original. The Sephiroth we see after Nibelheim and before the North Crater is just a projection created by Jenova or those with Jenova's cells/mako exposure. Sephiroth's will alone is using Jenova's abilities to call those towards his location and bring him the Black Materia.

We haven't even seen the real Sephiroth yet. These are all just random S-cell infused dudes.
Also have you not done the final fight? He goes absolutely crazy in that one, this version of Sephiroth Reborn/Bizarro was way more impressive than in the og where he was just a random freak version before the true final fight.
@@ShikiRyougi05they butchered the legend.. in og hé doesnt take damage, he one shot a dragon.. we already beat him twice in remake project.. I understand why they did that but I think they failed 😢.. the all nibleheim flashback I dont think they did a good job.. but tell me are you afraid of sephiroth?

As cool as it is to actually be able to play as Seph in FF7, I feel that it somewhat diminishes the impact of how astonishingly powerful he is by the time he's in your party. The original flashback scene with Seph in the OG game was one of the most powerful parts of the game. But sadly it doesn't feel nearly as impactful here. Kinda like how they butchered the 'trail of blood' section in Shinra tower in Remake compared to the OG.

@@N.i.E.M.O true, well overall Compilation is toned down significatly. It does not feel so mature as OG, best example is Zack death scene that now is just funny how he solo 5000 soldiers with guns.
IMO Cloud and Sephiroth are on par in the flashback. Cloud’s HP and stats are similar, they do about the same amount of damage, your spells are similar…I dunno
If Cloud was gonna have thousands of HP, synchronize with Sephiroth, etc. I wish Sephiroth had 9999 HP and like Comet and Ultima or something as spells
I mostly played as cloud in the flashback ngl. I just thought he was more fun and felt just as strong if not stronger than sephiroth.

The elevator explanation doesn't work for me, I hate the elevator, you're telling me that you couldn't have a good spiral staircase because of "realistic proportions" but having an entire freaking dungeon below the house was A-ok? That entire part was god-awful. And there is something wrong about imagining Sephiroth walking away dramatically and then waiting for an elevator.

Dude, it's a staircase, not even a significant staircase, plus imagining sephiroth walk away to commit genocide is more interesting than him walking up a damn set of stairs
They could just make a staircase a cutscene so there would be no camera problem at all. That elevator is just silly, so close the entrance how anyone would not notice it. All that was missing was a neon SECRET LAB sign over it.
The only two things I didn’t like about the fire scene was the aforementioned villagers not firing. And then the one I don’t really see a lot of people talking about, which is Sephiroth’s smirk when he turns and sees cloud. I always thought he was not 100% god complex at this point, maybe 99%. But the point is, he was still at this point overwhelmed with rage, not necessarily glorious purpose. So the smirk is off to me, i actually enjoy the 100% hatred glare from CC/AC
You have to remember that when he smirks at Cloud he's actually smirking at Zack. Perhaps he spared Zack because he knows that Zack shares the same Jenova Cells that he does upon reading books in the Shinra manor. So in a weird way he doesn't see his blood as impure.
I wish the townsfolk would have fired and he warp striked them all.
Spoiler Alert:
Since in the Nibelheim incident Cloud and Sephiroth are only essentially acquainted by the fact that Cloud is an auxiliary member of the soldier group, It seems unlikely that Sephiroth would have any specific knowledge of Clouds mom‘s final words. This speaks to the fact that the Sephiroths we see in most of the scenes during remake or rebirth are really just phantoms projected in clouds mind from his own PTSD.
Agreed about the goofiness of the standoff with the villagers
These phantoms underplay Sephiroth's machinations. It takes credit away from Sephiroth and gives too much credit to PTSD. Don't forget that the reunion has a "calling." Sephiroth can influence Cloud in his dreams because he wills it. Why wouldn't he have knowledge of Claudia's last word? He is killing everyone in slow motion in Cloud's recount. He might not have known Cloud at the time, but he sure will after Hojo's experiment creating the link, and Sephiroth knows what he did and what he heard, and who was who.
To clarify: the phantoms are not a result of PTSD. They exist because he wants to mess with Cloud intentionally.
Sephiroth is able to read Cloud’s mind due to the Jenova cells. It’s how he is able to possess him.
