We have some incredible news from a reputable source claiming that there will be many more Persona games on the way, including both remakes, remasters, and brand-new titles. I'm fine with 2 being a remaster *as long* as they FINALLY give us BOTH TOGETHER for the rest of the world. Each release of it was a screw up. Only the second game released on the PS1 elsewhere and only part one released on PSP elsewhere.

Funny thing, I actually played P2EP without knowing there was another part. I played it like Maya & was really confused by the mysterious high school boy & the secrets he knew! lol. So, there were some ways it can kinda work out but I agree whole-hardheartedly that they need to release both.
I would be for full remakes of Persona 1 and both 2s if they do not try to add the calendar/school sim systems. Though I would be fine with remasters with some quality of life improvements.
You could probably do the whole sim/calander system in 2s, but 1 is a very cut and dry story because it's not about the protagonist at all, it's about Maki Somomura and her reality.
I love that this has so many upvotes but in reality so few of these people would actually enjoy p1 and p2.I feel like modern persona fans would not get it they juyst want the anime friend simulation. They even complain about reload being too combat focused/grindy, wait until they gt a load of 1 and 2

I completely disagree. I feel like the characters and story from P1 are just BEGGING for the P5 treatment. Heading into and out of Maki's reality, seeing both sides of her, trying to learn more about what's going on - and having to deal with school life and getting to know your companions - that sounds amazing. They might need to pull in some of the more fleshed out characterizations from the manga for a couple of them (protag-kun), but otherwise all the materials are there. They'd just need to be willing to change some stuff, add other stuff, and give the story the development it deserves.

Persona 1 & 2 getting any kind of port, or remaster is a win in my book. I feel it's very important for these games to be preserved as best as possible as they're all but forgotten. I'm all for these games getting the remake treatment some day, but these games were so different to what modern Persona games are. As dated as they may be by today's standards, it's important to keep those roots intact as these games aren't the most available to play.

Not gonna lie, Persona 1 & 2 only getting remasters is a disappointment. Those games are major slogs to get through, and if they don't do anything to fix that, they're not going to be much fun.
Persona 2 duology is worth the slog just for the story, but updating the gameplay would turn a great experience into an outright exceptional one.

I feel like with p1 and P2 they gonna have to change their whole formula right? I don't see them just copying and pasting the old games with enhanced graphics unless they do but we just don't know anything yet sadly.

Persona 2 is absolutely an underdog. I love the characters and the story so very much. There is an OVA floating around on youtube that really expresses the cool vibes that game has.

Its a great time to be a Persona fan, hell yes. I lent my friend my PS2 Sims game, who lost the disc and instead gave me Persona 3 in return... I will be forever grateful lol

I neeeeeeed it. I liked bonding with my teammates and while Reload has that now with the male Mc, he’s still not the vibe I’m looking for. I know it’s his character being all cool, mysterious and suave but his answers can make him sound like a complete jerk lol

Makoto is so boring. They did a great job with his character in the movies but that's about it. Kotone is very likeable and it feels like she has way better chemistry with the sees member compared to him.

My dream would be a 2.5D style remake for P1 and P2, something like Octopath. I feel like these games belong in 2D, it would also save money for Atlus.

Ever since the remaster of Nocturne was announced, all I have wanted and dreamed of was a remaster (at the LEAST) of DDS 1&2. DDS are my absolute favorite games, I swear I held onto my PS2 and PS3 just to be able to still play them.

What made the original release of Persona 3 in 2006 so unique and innovative was how different it was compared to its predecessors: P1 and P2 games which were more in tune with the mainline SMT series. I would prefer that if there is a re-release of the Persona 2 games in the works, that they keep the core game mechanics and proper translations of P2 with updated graphics and soundtrack

Are we talking original P4 or Golden? From what I've heard at least, Golden is more of a fan favorite than the original, especially Chie's English VA change.

Honestly P4 doesn’t currently need a remake cuz it holds up well. I think p1 and p2 need the remakes more so I’m kinda disappointed they are only getting remasters but honestly I’m still excited for it regardless! I just hope they fix some things in the remasters

seeing as persona today is praised for its stunning visuals I'm confident that a facelift alone will make current fans more willing to experience 2's story. that said, at this point I don't care how they reintroduce 2 as long as it's getting acknowledged at all. and I hope they don't try too hard to reel in fans of the new games, but rather aim to make existing P2 fans enjoy it's story and characters in a new package
All theses games in development yet no FEMc in reload. I really do hope they add her! I’m excited for all the other stuff too. But P4 doesn’t need a remake. It holds up incredibly well and still looks good

@@sterben6993Atlus would never release a game that is just a copy of an older game, every persona fan wants to play the games best version and Atlus understands how we think, why Play PS2 P4 instead of buying persona 4 Golden? Because it's not only a graphical upgrade.

P1 and 2 really need it. i played through them. but it would be so cool to see them redone. only ever got to play the psp versions. just a remaster is a bit lame but it would be nice to have them on a modern platform.
P4G also holds up pretty well still. just finished a playthrough of it last year. so that game really dosent need a remake.

I know they have SMT syndrome and have a lot of wild shit that happens i really think a good touch up would be SO so good. literally anything p2 would make me happy tho im so tired of not getting content for my fav :(
seeing how much of the 2D cutscenes were changed for 3D in Reload, I'm clinging on this misplaced hope that we could get female protagonist somewhere down the line as it would be easier to replace the models than to reanimate it in 2D. And that the little 2D animation we got wouldn't be an issue to change.

I am not surprised persona 2 is just getting a remaster, they dont fully trust those games. They are quite good and the combination of persona 2's stories make it such a satisfying story; however they would benefit alot by fixing the combat to make it better and also they could try to give slight buffs to the party members that lack a bit of strength. Also they could have tried adding some extra optional stuff that could have added some extra bits of character interactions (specially for the last party member who spends less time in the party). I do hope the new translations dont remove any of the good parts of the game, the animations are quite good but if they guve the option to remove random encounters and make them overworld, and update the character portraits to give them a better hd look while keeping the high amount of charm they had it wouldnt need to get a full remake (also if the game does great they will do a full remake cause they can)
Yep they pretty much pretend that anything before 3 is a different universe lol. It's a Shin Megami Tensei game and Persona starts at 3 I think.
Hero says its a remaster and Midori says its a remake. The latter is more reliable while the former usually takes info from her leaks as I'd albeit not word for word.
@@NinjapowerMS well didnt they leave 2 different timelines after persona 2 eternal punishment. If they are in such universe then it is very likely that persona 3, 4, and 5 are from the EP universe, while there was never any new content from the IS universe
@@firionkaiser8291 I hope its a remake, the story is great but the gameplay does needs fixing to be able to ensure that people get to finish the game. Specially since this are basically 2 games with similar/reused assets with an aditional side story/missions for the second one, not everyone is going to want to finsih all of this with the way the gameplay works

Wait, they didn't add the option to play a female char in the P3 remake/remaster that came out recently? This is the first time I'd heard that, not that I've kept up with the news incredibly closely.
How can they make such a stupidly obvious mistake or oversight? Do they not remember the fanfare there was when P3Portable included a female protagonist? Because I certainly do. I don't know how much of it was their OWN marketing, I at least don't think it was mostly that, or at least it sort of dispersed by time it trickled down to me hearing about it.
I literally didn't know a single dude that played Persona 3. Or any of the Persona games. At least none I recall. Not until much later, anyway. But you know who def, absolutely DID play the game, and made damn sure to geek out over it obsessively? SEVERAL girls I went to school with. Not only friends, but girls I didn't even know, I'd just walk by and hear them fangirling and geeking out over it.
Granted this is just my personal experience and may be anomalous and outside of the statistical avg, I wouldn't know. But at least from my experience, which is all I have to go off of obv.. It seemed like there were even slightly more chicks that had and played P3, than there ever were chicks who played Pokemon. Just slightly, but it seemed like it was still higher. But that's REALLY saying something.
They really hit it out of the park by making a game that was "inclusive" in the sense of letting women play a char that they felt represented themselves, which for some reason wasn't and still isn't the norm.
And the story was at least moderately mature. They didn't talk down to their audience intellectually.
I kinda viewed it almost like a smaller version of that whole Twilight fan wave tbh.
Chicks found something they really clung onto and enjoyed. So ofc, when they remake the games, fans are going to feel betrayed. Granted it's an oversimplification.. To the fanbase, they view it as, you gave them something, only to take it away.
I randomly bought the first Persona game as a kid, having no idea what it was and being incredibly impressed and a little overwhelmed by it. I'd love to give it another try as a competent gamer.

Businesses never go for the oldest, obscurest titles to remake, they go for whats safe, P3 and P4 are safe bets , if p1 and p2 remasters do well, then you can expect them to remake those as well. Use your brain.
4 does need a remake as it deserves the p3re treatment as any other game does cause when it comes to remake graphics is more of a problem yes meaning p1 and p2 and p4 (and ya know p3 before the remake) have all grew past their time and while im extremely into retro games and new games that go for retro vibe on purpose again i would love to have them in a form that would hold for more than 10 years im sure you are as dissapointed as us to hear they might just port p1 and p2 dont say one game doesnt deserve or need something for the benefit of the other if we get p4 remake well get p1 and p2 thats a fact atlus has been listening to the players and fans for a WHILE now! and considering the poll? im willing to bet that p1 and p2 are the priority rn

I am more interested in the rumored SMT5 related game(hopefully an enhanced port) and the unknown PS2 remaster(hopefully DDS).
The game is fundamentally broken. There is nothing you can do to make SMT V good. Horrible pacing, every boss comes down to levels and not team composition. The world is lifeless and bland. Music is atrocious compared to other entries in the series. Sure, SMT Final is bad, but the music was still banging the entire game and has some of my favorite tracks, honestly. The Nahobino is just a lifeless clone of the demifiend concept. The alignments all feel devoid of any sort of complexity. Finally, you get 2 dungeons. 2!!. The rest is exploring the lifeless attempt at the Vortex World. Long story short, this game is a disgrace to SMT and should be banished to the shadow realm

Wasn't fuhrer in one of the persona 2 games, I never played the games at all but I did see clips of him being a character so like how will that play out in today's world if he's a part of the main story.

a persona 4 remake with persona 3 reload treatment would genuinely top any video game i've ever played. persona 4 golden is THAT high up for me on a personal level. The ONLY thing holding it back is being released on the psvita and having control schemes and graphics to match that
P2 with the tarot card system instead of persona fusion would be such a deal breaker.

1&2 remaster makes sense since i think they dont believe it will sell well so if it does than there will be remakes in the future but for now its a better chance to remaster it. P4 Remake is like a gurantee since that one was their best money maker
@@momokosakurada605 That’s a fair assessment. However, remaking 1 &/or 2 would be a great way to bring something fresh to a new, but established fan base. I myself have not played the first two, but have played 3-5.
1&2 are very different than 3/4/5 so idont think a remake will be a great idea unless its the same style as 1&2 but doing that would make whatever was appealing to it lose @@magusi9029
my favorite part about how forgotten Persona 2 ended up is how *that is literally part of the fucking plot and the plot of the sequel is how people refusing to let go of persona 2 made everything worse for everyone*

you could emulate p3p. To me, if you own persona 3 already then its morally ok because they are not earning/losing money from portable. If you were to buy a legitimate copy youd just be giving money to a random person.
I dont mind P1 and P2 remaster, with preserving the core mechanic and Kaneko's art. But I hope they can improve some things like slow battle animation and random encounters

A remaster would by definition mean slightly touched up visuals.
I’m just hoping that Atlus stick with one version of the game and patch everything on that version, rather than a rerelease otherwise I don’t know if buying it the moment they hit the market is worth it
I have bought a lot of persona Merchandise to the point of the P5 alone i have played the launched version the persona 5 Royal version and even the latest persona 5 royal on switch and have noticed each version had alterations.Yes i have become a persona fanatic.
It's a shame the answer was cut to be sold back as a DLC. It is pretty gross, especially how in news they said they wouldn't come at all prior to launch yet say it is coming nearly immediately after it comes out.

For real! Having the option to swap soundtracks is great. Also having more voicework done is another win in my book
If a remaster of 1 did what the manga did and found a way to make both routes sequential of each other, that'd be awesome! Also really love the story of the Persona 2 duology, and how lore-heavy it is. Seeing the Joker plot twist from Innocent Sin in high def would be sublime and hit hard, and who in this day and age could say no to Maya pushing the parties and the world towards a brighter future? I think that's something we need right now.
Ngl if was to name a remake Persona 4, since a lot of stuff is tv based, I would call it: Persona 4, Recorded or Persona 4, Rescheduled

P1 & P2 need full remakes at this point not remasters. Sure, us OG fans would love remasters and play the hell out of them. However, there is little chance that a remaster would make any new players interested. At least update the dungeon experience

Persona 1 should be a remake and both 2 games should be remasters. If you want Atlas's first try at mechanics go get p1 for psp, but both p2s were an improvement on the three games styles so in order to preserve that slightly better yet nostalgic system they should be remasters
If 4 gets remade, I honestly really hope that the dungeons get remade in more of a P5 Palace style.
They are supposed to be unique to each character and what not, so it is much more in line with how P5 did things, as opposed to Tartarus.
That said New Tartarus does feel new and more open and overall way better for me.
So if they were to give the dungeons that kind of treatment, I suppose it would be okay, but I would like for them to be more fleshed out.
Other than that, I would most be looking forward to the new music/remixes they do.
(I'd also hope that they remake Golden as opposed to the original game, because why not)

Plus just in general I think it would be a good idea just to entice the people who recently played the re-release of Golden to want to buy the game again.
I know P3 would be similar in the regard since P3P and P4G both got ported to consoles at the same time.
But I personally didn't play P3P again just because i was hoping the leaks for a remake were true, and they were.
I did replay Golden though, twice in fact cause I didn't think it would get a remake at all in the coming years. So i'd be a little more hesitant to rebuy the game at full price if there wasn't somewhat big changes like the dungeons and stuff.

The Remaster is for those who want the enjoy the orginal games on modern platforms.
The Remakes should take the stories keep them as faithful as possible to the orginals but rewrite them that they are like modern Persona games.
This way we gain the most.
I wished they would have remastered P3FES too I enjoyed it much more than the Reload version even though it is very very good game.
there are a couple of big things that modernsona does that would not mesh with 1 and 2 like the calender system being a massive one as the stories last chronolgically like a few days...a week. social links could be reintergrated as side quests but thing is these games were already remastered and very rarely did it justice
Im all about a remaster , but for the love of god ,make some ui changes and some quality of life improvments , what makes me not wanting to replay them is the awfully slow combat because of the endless menu scrolling .

You forgot that P4G also got a recent release on Switch, along with P3P.
If the they were to add the female protag from persona 3 p, it would merit another playthrough of the game. It would be very expensive to implement, but I think it’s worth it. Namely because she is worth a replay. And they don’t necessarily have to add all of the new social links, just make the male SEES members have links, and give the female links the hangout treatment.
Personally, I would like a harder difficulty mode. Merciless just doesn’t do it for me. Once you get theurgies, you can blitz through tartarus easily. And I don’t feel as challenged as in FES. Now of course that’s because of the lack of fatigue and AI party, but SMT III is plenty hard without those mechanics. Even if it just inflates the stats or halves xp, I’d really like a tougher mode
tbh it will be difficult to do it since fmc is like her own game so they would need to make the whole game just for her.
Atlus are a multi million dollar company. They can totally add FeMC if they want to. Four new models, some voice acting, songs and a few cutscenes won't even budge their wallet. I hope they will get over their greediness and are planning to release her in some form. If not, we will never see an actual definitive version of p3.
@@CatzZz4 Remember, the entire company isn’t developing the game, and every game has a budget. The goal is to not exceed said budget and make more on sales. That’s a surplus, not greed.

i can only guess that they have big news for the nintendo direct or about to share some big news and im all up for it again with 4 i do believe it needs a remake but i feel like putting 1 and 2 first should be how they go with it, getting a port or remaster is fine but i wanna see 1 and 2 getting the P3RE treatment as they deserve PLEASE im begging!!!! anyway im hoping we someday get big news concerning pq, pq2 and devil survivors all of which ya know are ds games so plssssss i want a port so baddddd

1&2 need a remaster first than a remake cause no one can even play it and if it has enough people playing it will eventually get a remake.

I think it's cool they're remaking P1 and P2. I think it just depends on what they mean by remaster. Since reload is technically a remaster/remake, so that could just be what they plan to do with the older games. It will most likely be like reload keeping the same story but changing the gameplay aspects so it'll play better.
P4 honestly doesn’t need a remake, since golden is already the best version of that game.
I would like them to add a femc route in reload, but at least we could get a remake of the answer in dlc.

As an aside, I do like the remakes we are getting as this is an opportunity to dig up old mechanics and maybe see what can go into future games. Not just for the Persona and SMT games

All I have wanted since Nocturne's remaster is for DDS 1&2 to get a remaster as well. I just want to be able to play it on my PS4 (and earn trophies, I would Platinum those games so fast...) just the thought that it might actually happen has me giddy with excitement! 🥴

I personally would only except a Full Remake of P1 and P2 if they keep it closer to SMT style which they are more like, rather then the calender social sim like modern Persona.

People say they remasters p3p for a reason so go play femc there and don’t complain but they forget that maybe we don’t want to play the budget version of the game and actually want to see cutscenes and nice character models.

Persona 1 & 2 not getting remakes and only remaster is wild. 3 and 4 should have been remaster, if anything. 1 and 2 need the love of a remake so much more. I don't see those selling well as just remaster. The games as they are, are vastly different from 3 onward and are unlikely to catch the same audience.
What they SHOULD do, is give us a Featherman spin-off game. Dig into that universe you built some more, Atlus.
Also, SMT 4 & Apocolypse should get remaster and launches on console + PC.
Persona has great combat but the brave default system is so good I spent so much time on the bravery default series
I love those games as well. Also really liked both Octopath Traveler games

6:55 also, the p4g releases for consoles and pc weren't just ports. they were remasters, kinda like p3p but without as much ai upscaling of backgrounds, if only because they updated the visuals with sharper, higher resolution assets like p3p. so, there's no need for another remaster to a game that was just remastered. what could they remaster in p4 anyway? the graphics are already 1080p ready, the sound and music are clear, and the game runs properly on current systems, and the game is still supported as far as bugs are concerned, so making it work on updated hardware is not a concern either.
also just in case, let's not get confused by terminology. remake = redoing things from scratch, like p3r. remaster = touching up existing things to make them work on new hardware, like p3p.
Wait.. why the heck would persona 4 need a remake? Other than to just look more like p3r and p5r, p4G is already modern persona as far as mechanics, combat, AND fusion. There's nothing they could do to improve it other than visually without any unnecessary additions.
Also I would've preferred persona 1 and 2 be completely remade, not to have social Sim stuff, but just so the combat function more like modern persons plus updated graphics which I feel it does need. Oh well...

😂Not quite. Midori on Twitter stated that a SMT game will be on Netflix. She never specified the game, although I took it to be a new SMT game for Netflix. Digital Devil Saga will be a remaster and will likely be made available on all platforms

if those reports about the "FES" DLC is true, I'll be happy, but if not, I would not be surprised cause ATLUS, has never made games with upcoming DLCs announcing later (At least to my knowledge). You would think they would have done this a couple of their games back a while ago with a few waves of DLCs on either Persona 5 Royal , Soul Hackers 2 or on SMT 5 with different upcoming DLCs to bring both Persona Fans and SMT fans back to the game with a different experience. Especially with SMT 5, that would have been a perfect opportunity for ATLUS to have different upcoming DLCs to make the game have new experiences, different bosses and/or demons that relate to other SMT games (a missed opportunity to have things referring to SMT 1, 2, 4 and apocalypse) then again, it wouldn't surprise me cause ATLUS has aways put all of their DLCs on one of their games available day 1 (on the release date of said game) and that's it, no more DLCs for that game.

EDIT: Both Persona 2 games, -especially Eternal Punishment- are more mature games that touch some dark themes. So it somewhat makes sense those games don't get a remake, because are a bit more niche and less "casual" like the rest of the series.
I got into Persona via 3 so I'm curious how the originals were. I wouldn't mind a remake or a crossover with the modern cast/plots would be cool.
I dislike the re-release/spinoff strategy, so I would've preffered sequels like Arena and Strikers over Q/Royal/golden/FES's approach. So I'm not sure what to make of 4's potential remake.
P6 getting announced would be a plus.
I played the originals back in like 2008 after playing persona 3 and honestly didn't like them very much. Not enough life simulation/time management that the "modern" persona games have. 1&2 have cool vibes though
@gnarcky6ix6 an FF7r style remake might be better than a remaster, but it could be controversial. An interquel set between P1/p2 and P3/p4/p5's eras might be better.
I saw cool fanart with what P1/p2's cast would look like in the arena games that made me curious about seeing P1/P2's cast in the modern day.
Id rather just see a Persona 7 with heavy call-backs and themes from the persona titles before 3.
I honestly don’t care about the remasters of the original Persona games. As well as I don’t care about the P4G remaster. I was never a fan of Shin Megami Tensei I find them too hard. I will keep waiting until Atlus finally listens to me and they finally give me the FemC and her S-links! That is all I want from them.

Well you're probably going to be waiting on modders. Adding her in at this point would be a massive overhaul as compared to planning it from the start. That means either yet another version of P3 or it ain't happening

I feel like Atlus can totally surprise people with a complete overhaul of Persona 1 or Persona 2 duology. Imagine playing them with a totally different gameplay and presentation but with the same story.
