This is the Cantina Band music from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Enjoy! ~All music from this video is the property of its respective owners. This video is not for profit.
It always makes me smile to look up at the heavens at nighttime and think "somewhere out there, lightyears away, there may very well be a fine dining establishment with all sorts of characters beyond imagination socializing to THIS very tune."
After all of these years, it finally dawned on me how much like Raymond Scott's compositions this selection sounds like. No surprise, though, as John Williams (like Andre Previn) began by playing jazz piano and would've known everyone active in that genre at the time. Also, Scott was a major pioneer (albeit forgotten one now) in the field of electronic music - something else that was probably not lost on Williams. People say that Benny Goodman was the inspiration for this - I say Raymond Scott.
Lol, that must have been so cool! There is a saxophone in my band who plays this song every once in a while. As for me, I know almost every Star Wars song on my flute. Today I was playing the parade of the ewoks lol.
I find it funny people dislike some songs because If you think people have to go looking for most of them. Because I'm sure this just doesn't just come up Randomly for most people.
@Nomis095 one helluvah alien jazz track. I'de say this is one of many memorable tracks. I think all tracks from Star Wars are memorable. And for me each one strikes a particular emotion when i hear any which one of them. Cheers!
To continue the last comment - I would urge a listen to Scott and his Quintette (his spelling, not mine) playing "Twighlight in Turkey" or "Powerhouse" - both of which are readily available here on UTube. The style of playing and the orchestrations are so similar as NOT to be mere coincidence.
Why did people dislike this song? if you dont like it, dont listen to it. Or are there people who go around wasting time finding everything they dislike on youtube?
@LinkinWarrior92 Ages ago, he went into the Imperial Academy on Carida but was kicked out because he stopped an officer from beating up Chewbacca with a neuronic whip. Of course, Wookiees return the favour of things like that by owing people a life debt; stuck with Han ever since then. BOO YAH, I'M GOOD
Four people somehow misread "Star Wars" as "Justin Bieber". ...One person by the name of YouDuck2345 needs new ideas for "X people hit the dislike button" jokes.
yeah, it completely is the opposite of most star wars themes (thinking of this compared to general grievous, imperial march, and the majority of the movies' scores). who knew john williams had a jazzy side. ask him to compose for a cafe' and the place will be packed!
I'd love this to play through the speakers at my school all day long, travelling to class would be so awesome

Never realized the heavy use of steel pan in this song. By far my favourite instrument!
Han: You've never heard of the Millenium Falcon?
Obi: Should I have?
Even when your old and dying in your bed just remember, the force will be with you, Always.
i wish they would put this song in jukeboxes or some of the live bar bands should learn it. This would be really fun to dance to.
