When you realize that Anakin was only 45-46 years old when he died
He prematurely aged due to Palpatine giving him outdated prosthetic limbs and his excessive use of his hatred to propel himself forward even though he felt he had nothing left to live for. His rage and hate for his "Master" and his constant pain kept him totally immersed in the Dark side with only the smallest sliver of Anakin left inside the shell that is Darth Vader. As we know the Dark side is a path to abilities that some consider "unnatural" and excessive use will corrupt the user. Being that Anakin was the chosen one and the Skywalker line has an affinity with both sides of the Force his use didn't age him as much as Sheev Palpatine's use of Force Lightning and Mace Windus creation of a Power loop but Vader was kind of a self contained pain and hate battery. So the effects on him would be lessened due to his natural resistance as the Chosen one to bring balance to the Force but he still was degrading over time.
how old was Anakin in Episode 3 ?

R.I.P DAVID PROWSE, WHO PLAYED AS DARTH VADER. 😔
1935-2020
He is one with the force
David prowse was just the prototype voice actor for a new hope he got replaced with James earl Jones smh
@@omegathe_m1n3r40 Yes, but did James Earl Jones play Darth Vader physically? i guess not, it was David Prowse and some other actors.
One with the force he is now.

Definitely these are two most important staples and I can't get enough!
Anyone with even HALF a heart would…
Luke: "No, you're coming with me. I won't leave you here, I've got to save you."
Anakin: "You already have, *Luke.*"
"You were right ... you were right about me. Tell your sister, you were right ..."
Father I won't leave you
dies(peacefuly)
ME CRIES
Always makes me a little teary eyed.
Just sucks when there are amazing scenes in a movie that had Ewoks.
@@mikeyb617 The last words of Anakin.
You know what's interesting? That death is the final alternative where He finally finds freedom and peace. He lived his whole life as a slave! He was a slave as a kid on Tatooine, he was a slave as a Jedi (yes! the life of the Jedi is a slavery - from a certain point of view. After all you couldn't have attachment to others, nor a love life, nor a family or any other bond.) and he became the slave of the Emperor, now as a broken, sick, crippled man. Death was a salvation for Him. Very sad. :(
Daniel Soos But Anakin's first trainer taught him that such things were not bad. Anakin had the choice of still believing that.
@@TheRivrPrncess Yes and when he died, Anakin was only a little boy. Obi-Wan (who took the Jedi ways very seriously) was left to raise him like a brother and Anakin was forced to do things the “Jedi Way”. Every time Anakin does things his own way, he is scolded for it (as seen in Clone Wars). He fell in love with Padme and truly thought she was going to die. He lost his mother, he wasn’t going to lose her too. Once he made the split decision to kill Mace Windu, there was no going back. I’m assuming he probably figured that he might as well side with Palpatine (who he also grew up with) and take the chance at what he thought would save Padme.
@@TheRivrPrncess Not to mention the Jedi’s solution to helping Anakin was to “let go of everything you fear to lose.” That was never going to happen. He wasn’t just going to let her die at that time.
@@RiotnRespect It does not matter that Anakin was so young when Qui-Gon died. He still knew what he taught and should have taken it to his heart and imitated him. As for Obi-Wan scolding Anakin when Anakin did things his own way, Qui-Gon was also scolded but he still did what he knew was right and what he did was right. But Obi-Wan was sometimes right in scolding Anakin and Anakin should have listened. And Yoda's advice to "let go of everything you fear to lose" did not mean that Anakin was not to worry about his mother or about the dreams of his wife dying. Yoda meant that Anakin should realize that he or others can't always stop bad things from happening. Even Shmi Skywalker told this to Anakin. And Yoda's advise to Anakin to rejoice for others who had died and "miss them do not, mourn them do not" only meant that Anakin wasn't to let fear of losing anyone to death cause him excessive worry or other negative emotions. This is advice given to even real life people who have lost loved ones in death.
@@TheRivrPrncess qui gon was the ideal master for anakin...damn you, Maul...
2:06 Darth Vader’s reign comes to an end, after the purging and killing and all the death he’s created, all the destruction he’s caused, he’s finally put to an end. All his stories and his history all gone. A broken boy becoming a murderous Sith Lord, RIP the legendary Darth Vader
i consider vader died when he killed palpatine and at 2:06 anakin dies
Bro you make it sound like he was never a good man, he redeemed himself.
Yes I am a darth vader apologist.
@@AgentM3nace you can't excuse all the atrocities he caused directly or indirectly across the galaxy for over 20 years. The guy murdered more children than Genghis Khan. If he had survived his injuries, then he would've been tried, sentenced and probably executed by the new republic
Is may one of this master pieces, forever to be remeber. The best villian in the history that shrink our hearts when was dying.
Indeed..
I don't consider vader as a Villian.
@@detective3354 Same... He’s actually a victim. It’s made clear he actually wasn’t in control of himself the entire time he was killing all the jedi and the young Padawan’s in The Jedi Temple on Coruscant elsewhere I just forgot where. But he is the victim of a Sith so powerful that he could prevent himself from truly dying and/or just altogether or he could resurrect himself from death as a whole.
@@AbigailHonestly No. All of that was a lie to lure Anakin to the dark side of the force. If it were true than Palpatine would not have needed to use ordinary means to keep Darth Vader alive. He would have used that power. But it is never shown that he did this.
@@TheRivrPrncess Momentary lapse... Even I think this comment I made makes no sense now so it’s kind of meaningless now.

“Now go my son. Leave me”
Vader's last lullaby - the contrast between this and the imperial march is so vast yet so perfect. 2:07
"Now go my son, leave me"
"No i can't leave you here, I've got to save you"
"You already have luke, you were right, you were right about me, tell your sister, you were right"
"Father, i won't leave you"
Omega_Poney That would have been disastrous if they actually went with that in the end
Zak Rosenfeld you already have
Omega_Poney That ending would've been so badass. Just imagine how the sequel trilogy would be.
Zak Rosenfeld what did he mean by saying you were right about me? About being somewhat good or a bad person?
Zak Rosenfeld I cried when i saw that scene
"Luke....help me take...this mask off."
"But you'll die."
"Nothing...can stop them now. Just for once, let me look on you with my OWN eyes...."

The Last Ceratosaur I know this is 3 yrs old but I'd just like to point out that he says " nothing can stop THAT now" not them.
Most powerful lines
Fun Fact: Thomas Newman conducted this piece here at age 28 as one his first major film music assignments.
And it was father David Newman who helped propel John Williams' career into Hollywood. So I guess this was Williams returning the favor.
I agreed check out his Wikipedia about he did make just one music of this.
“Father I’ve got to save you!”
“You already have, Luke...”
'You already have"
This is the most calmest and saddest song I've ever heard. I like the imperial march on string part. I could listen to that part all night whenever it's a beautiful night with a sky full of stars and a full moon, where I can see an image of Darth Vader's face in moonlight in my own eyes.
+Alex Wegner Most calm or the calmest. Make up your mind. You can't say most calmest.
mostest calmest
Alright Kylo slow down
Mostest veryest abolutelyest calmest
And then you realize " that's no moon, it's a space station"
I love the deconstruction of Vader's theme, with only the violins and a whimpering harp, and a very faint cello in there. It signifies that Vader is no longer a powerful sith, but a man holding on to the last of his strings. The only other instrument I can hear is a clarinet
R.I.P. Anakin Skywalker, a jedi, a father, a friend, a general, a pilot, a master, an apprentice...you will be missed by all, including Ahsoka Tano. 😔😔😔😔
You forgot husband.... *_To Padmé_*
after knowning anakins story watching the prequels and the clone wars series it absolutely kills me when i hear the tune at 2:07
1:02-1:05 damn... That part always feels weirdly really really saddening to me.
Probably because it's the moment we see vader face, and we realize he's just a sad old man

God I love this. John William's takes the Imperial March, one of the most badass and epic villain themes of all times and... almost deconstructs it. It almost sounds as if the song itself is dying, as it just goes out... not with a bang... but with a whimper
Rest in peace David. You brought life to the best movie character in history. I will forever be grateful for what those movies means to me. Thank you! The force will be with you, always!
love that piano imperial march at the end!!

Darth vader is the best villain and he redeemed himself when he killed Palpatine, i refuse to believe in Disney's shitty ending
Probably the best thing i ever heard. Thank you John Williams!
Anakin Skywalker
Born 42 BBY - Died 4 ABY
i think i was more like 23-25 when he became vader.
I think it was 20
Tobito 20 BBY - was the near end of the Clone Wars, 19 BBY was the end of the clone wars - (The Great Jedi Purge). Anakin was born in 42 BBY on Tatooine and died on Death Star 2 in 4 ABY. it wasn't 20.
Ricqwan Davis when he became darth vader
Elijah Blechman Yes, Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader in 19 BBY.
I love the bit at 2.07 to 2.14
Oh yea it was very sad though how it sounded😢
2:07 😢😢the death of the best character and the most beautiful second of music
it makes me want to cry because darth vader is my favorite villain and the theme is so sad
2:06 - The force is now in balance, both the Sith & Jedi are gone........
Luke is a Jedi though hence the title "return of the Jedi"
+Brandon Rouch "return of the jedi" = Vader becoming Anakin the jedi, again
+Hugo B. No return of the Jedi is for Luke. Yoda told like if he confronted Vader a Jedi he will be and he did confront Vader and won there for making him a Jedi. Vader redeemed himself at the end but it's Luke that is the only Jedi left now
ParakRS Disney: Are you sure about that
General Grievous *laughs in Legends*
2:08 the moment when I realised one of the best trilogies has ended 😭
0:46 Anyone else get chills when they played this music in the destroyed Throne Room ruins of the Death Star in Rise of Skywalker? Where it all happened those years ago...
While TROS has many flaws, that moment absolutely gave me chills.
Does anyone know the name of that specific track in RofS? Darth Vader’s Death is easily one of the most haunting yet peaceful tracks in all of Star Wars and I was trying to find the one that appeared in RofS. I don’t think it’s released on the RofS album but I hope it gets released sometime soon.
@@colew427 Battle of Endor III, around 1:57, its part of the ROTJ Remastered Soundtrack.
The Healthy Man then you’re a very special case.
I know it
Best variation on the Dark Side Theme.
Marvellous
Especially the end ... :')
I got chills just typing "Vader death music"
2:07 to 2:14 best part IMO :D
Agreed
A slow and sad beat on the harp matching the imperial march. We all associated Darth Vader with the imperial march, having a sad remix of that beat is a brilliant way to use music to convey the emotional weight of Vader's Death.
Goat Airsoft yeah we all know were not gonna amount to shit then XD
Goat Airsoft ah walk it off thats what i do over it :P who cares 1 fail isnt enough but like 50 of em then be concerned. lol
Yeah, it gives me goosebumps... The Imperial March has never sounded so ominous.
"Luke just for once let me look on you with my own eyes." Gets me every time. That plus the music. Heart wrenching.
Read at your own risk-
Hearing this in Rise of Skywalker brought back LOTS of nostalgia ;)
That one guy Yes, that was the perfect moment to use this theme
WOW! Talk about spoiler alert!
It was awesome hearing it
Alfomos ikr
SPOILER ALERT
The theme was in the rise of skywalker when Rey visits the Throne Room
Well, this is the end of Darth Vader. James Earl Jones is officially retired.
Thank you, James, for everything.
I think what makes this scene so good is just who we see under Vader's mask. We'd expect somebody to look like a monster or something terrifying for all to see. Instead, we see a broken, tired man who's been through so much. All the scars, hatred, and pain he endured took their toll on him.
The slow deconstruction of the imperial march is great with the scene. Starting off with the strings and ending with the lone harp
I just love the Lullaby like Imperial March
Such a dark yet at the same time relaxing theme. The mighty dark lord of the sith finally being put to rest as he is redeemed, Even though his son desperately tries to save his life. The end of a saga. This theme captured it all.
And on another note? This theme was beautifully delivered in the book Death Trooper's audio production. The clip at 2:07 I mean. Give it a listen to it if you haven't. Trust me. It's good.
It is ironically beautiful how Imperial March get progressively faint and fainter is a metaphore to Anakin's anger and madness is finally gone and he is now free from misery
Rest in peace Anakin :'c
And may the force be with you
2:07... really sad... Anakin lived his entire life in pain Darkness and hatred as a slave. There's something Very dark and very sad about this part of the theme. Like the sadness of his entire life in these last few seconds.
2:07 I came here for this. It struck such a chord with me as a child
Goodbye, Darth...
RIP David Prowse sleep tight Lord Vader
Shouldn't it be called "Anakin's Death"?
Yeah, after toasting the Emperor, he wasn't a Sith anymore.
Goku D'Amaro darth Vader is no more
Technically this movie came out before the clone wars so Anakin wasnt revealed until early 2000s.. plus the ghost of darth Vader in the end with the ewok party, the guy who played the ghost actually plays Anakin in the movies! I thought that was a pretty cool thing to see
Anakin was never the same person after Mustafar he essentially died there
@@doctordonovan7893 Actually, Anakin's name was mentioned a few times in ROTJ. Three times by Obi-Wan and once by Luke.
Anakin: Luke...Help me take...this mask off.
Luke: But you'll die.
Anakin: Nothing can stop that now....Just for once, let me, look on you with my own eyes
(Luke slowy takes off his helmet, then the mask, revealing Anakin's healed burnmarks and his eyes are no longer sith-yellow, but blue)
yea at the end he turned to the light side, that's why he was with obi wan and the rest at the end of the movie.

Anakin: Now go my son. Leave me.
Luke: No. You're coming with me. I'm not leaving you here. I've got to save you.
Anakin: You already have Luke. You were right. You were right about me. Tell your sister you were right.
Xehanort10 (Anakin dies peacefully)
Luke: Father, I won't leave you

maybe he will back to be a jedi again
Initially we all thought vader was heartless and a pure evil psycho path but then once he unmasks we could see hes just a vulnerable man that suffered and was in anguish for 2 decades
Imperial March riff on a Harp = Stunning. Sums up the character quite well too. He was a fierce and terrible force played on a poignant and heart wrenching instrument.
2:06 The mighty, pugnacious Imperial March becomes a peaceful harp solo as Darth Vader dies and Anakin Skywalker is reborn.
Rip David Prowse 2020
I played this last year when we had to put our dog nemo to sleep, he went peacefully and we were with him every second till his last breath
May the force be with you nemo

The echoing of the Imperial March is my favorite part, because whenever I watch Star Wars i picture myself as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.

This is an amazing theme. You can see the imperial March anthem slowly fades away in a calm, sad and a relief manner. Exactly how darth vader is passing away. But it also the rebirth of Anakin Skywalker, the good rising and eventually becoming one with the force

"You already have, Luke..."
We don’t cry for a real villain. I cried for Vader because I realized he truly came to regret the life he lived and the monster that he’d become. He didn’t want that for his Son and died steering Luke away from the same fate… as any true father would. 😢

This is one of the only songs in the world that can bring me on the verge of tears. I never expected to see if villain I hated so much die in such a way that it nearly made me start bawling. I think got the most incredible thing about this piece, it makes the imperial theme almost sound light-hearted in some parts. This truly was a well-balanced masterpiece that needs to be remembered for all of history.
