Such an iconic theme that can be used in so many different ways. From ominous foreshadowing to downright terror, it's terrifically elastic. John Williams literally created history... This theme will live on forever
"Created history" You should go listen to classical music because like most film music a considerable amount of John Williams work walks on the very border of plagiarism. He is part of pop culture so his work will be remembered, though, but yeah. You should actually look up the bits that "inspired" John Williams works. There is a significant amount of his work that is directly lifted from other pieces.
@@BoydTheMilkmanX You call it plagiarism i call it homage. ALL film composers borrow from other sources, most Broadway composers do as well. Film composers especially have to work very fast often under very tight deadlines so it's inevitable that they will borrow themes from other composers. 12:55 is my favorite It's very iconic to me. The Executor plowing thru that asteroid field, an ISD bridge being obliterated, Lord Vader's cold and stern "NO, Captain." Goosebumps after 20 years of first seeing that scene.
11:11 is the sound of just pure superiority over the enemy, or pure hopelessness in the face of an unstoppable force, depending on what side you’re on.
My personal favorite renditions of the Imperial March along with the moment I cherish most when it played: 11:09 - 11:36 The best feeling in the world when playing Battlefront 2 on Hoth in the ATAT and this version comes on. 11:48 - 12:22 The incredible blasts of the fanfare really makes this one stand out; feel the full might of the Empire! 12:23 - 12:54 Dark Empire Audiobook Transitions made my childhood :) 12:54 - 13:40 Star Wars and Dracula...the opening horns remind me of thunder crashing as lightning strikes his castle, plus the shot of the Executor leaving the Asteroid field always makes me feel awestruck 14:01 - 14:09 Approaching Vader's castle on Vjun in Jedi Academy... THE MEMORIES! 14:09 - 14:23 Luke: "I'm not afraid!" Yoda: "You will be... You *will* be..." 14:24 - 15:10 Imperial defeat on Empire at War 15:10 - 15:26 End of the Dark Empire Audiobook Act 2... so haunting! 15:27 -15:39 Thrawn encounters in the Heir to the Empire audiobook 15:40 - 16:08 Vader forcing Han into the Carbon Freezing Chamber 16:18 - 16:31 Bespin ambiance in Battlefront 1 (Classic) 16:32 - 17:17 Vader and Luke's duel in Cloud City... the best duel in the franchise (but I still like the ROTJ fight better) 17:18 - 17:58 Obviously the most groundbreaking moment in the saga. "Search your feelings, you KNOW it to be true!" 17:59 - 18:05 "Bring my shuttle." Vader's moment here is one of my favorites for his character 18:06 - 18:25 Jedi Academy multiplayer settings music 18:26 - 19:26 Obviously the original scene. "Ben... why didn't you tell me..." 19:27 - 20:31 That feeling when you watch Empire Strikes back and still get the goosebumps, and this medley lets you knew THE EMPIRE REALLY STRUCK BACK 21:11 - 22:23 Vader's best introduction into any of the 3 movies, in my opinion. Moff Jerjerrod: "We shall double our efforts!" Vader: "I hope so Commander, for your sake, The Emperor is not as forgiving as I am." 22:24 - 23:02 The Emperor's Arrival, one of my favorite scenes in the entire franchise. It's just so powerful and the Emperor seems so menacing, even though his physical appearance is not much to instill fear. 23:02 - 23:16 The Emperor's Cackle makes this scene, but this song amplifies it 23:23 - 23:46 "Then my Father is truly dead." Within my top 10 favorite moments of any movie, for sure. 23:47 - 24:18 From this moment on, Return of the Jedi became my favorite movie ever. Nothing can top it for me. 24:26 - 24:50 It simply captures the best variations altogether from ROTJ plus the best variation of the Emperor's theme 24:51 - 26:36 The most humbling moment in the franchise. My favorite dialogue between any characters in any series ever. Where Star Wars really should have ended (at least, movie wise)

The Empire will rule and bring order to the galaxy. All hail the Empire!
Long live the Empire
2:29 I have waited a long time for this moment, my little green friend.
RIP Vader always the most powerful and dramic character
Thank you Mr.John Williams
I played this to my dog.
Now it's a Rancor
26 minutes which makes me feel that I will rule the world one day :D
You aren't the only one. Btw it's actually possible to rule the world but we need to work as a team. Who will join me in restoring the Grand Galactic Empire?
Me. (Heavy breathing)
24:51 * Darth Vader dies * "Mission failed. We'll get 'em next time."
It's too late.
6:13 is my favorite part of the song! It exudes so much power.
Shigeru Miyamoto is called in Nintendo... "Darth Vader", He is powerfull in the "NDS".
From the moment i booted up the original battlefront 2 and saw the faceless heroes of the empire, I was hooked. Here I am now 26 years later. Always picking the empire in any star wars game I play. Glory to palpatine. Glory to the empire.
*“One hundred, Two hundred, Three hundred, you guys are going to make me rich!"* -Boba Battlefront II 2005 (9:45)
9:40 General, there’s a fleet of Star Destroyers coming out of hyperspace in sector four.
Ominous foreshadowing is one of the best uses outside of the actual march
The emperor is not as forgiving as I am
Reptile 22 Goooood, Goooooooood
Hi brother
When you're Darth Vader in star wars battlefront 2 and you see a lot of enemies
funny
@@aaron-shelton thanks
Until the block glitch happens and a sad imperial march plays as you are gunned down
please make all uses of The force theme
YES
So basically, every scene in The Last Jedi.
Just kidding! I love that movie, but it really does use the Force leitmotif more than any other film in the saga.
@@atlasmonkeyleon Ha! There used to be a podcast called Star Wars Oxygen where they did an in depth analysis of the soundtracks and kept a motif counter and the Force theme is far and away the most uesd. Although, it's also my favorite major theme (and very versatile). I think Solo is the only movie that doesn't use it at all.
I just translated the text, and it says "Long Live The Empire."
@Ty Pilot I'm no expert. I figured it out using the Secrets Of The Jedi book. I used what I remembered from the book to translate it.
@Ty Pilot Thank you, my master.
@Ty Pilot Why can I read Aurebesh and yet I am still failing Spanish class?
Die empire! Rise Republic with democracy! (Or communism)
Omg I'm not the only one that knows Aurbesh! My friends, where did you find this grand language?( I found it in a book called How to Survive in a Galaxy far far away

22:42-23:01 is the best version of this piece of music.
Wow, this and 1:05 are by far the best versions!
Every time I heard this song play in the films even if it was barley I would get excited
awesome!! but you should make a list of the track list!!! :)
that would be a lot
8:10 the best for me :)
Sounds like SWBF2 victory theme
All will kneel before the might of the Empire!....or pay for their defiance.
Dan Rishel, indeed
25:16 Now go my son
Leave me
@@perfectcell5613 I won't leave you.....
9:28 - 9:40 when all the Ewoks are looking for the last Storm Trooper and he makes it aboard the shuttle.
8:13 “If only you knew the power of the Dark Side!” -Darth Vader
2:15 Always reminds me of the Empirical in The Force Unleashed.
0:01 "The Chosen One, the boy may be. Nevertheless, grave danger I fear in his training”
24:51 how much I would pay for at the end of Rise Of Skywalker it would go to a dark corner playing this version of Imperial March and then seeing half of that corner white and it'll turn the music a bit more peaceful and then it'll fade out. HOW MUCH WILL I PAY FOR THAT.
“I’ve seen what such feelings can do to a fully trained Jedi Knight..to the best of us..”
