Question, what's your pick for the top detector for $400 or under, possibly a little more if it's a no brainer. Not worried about arrows. Prefer quiet over extremly sensitive but I'd love your opinion please Thanks
If I already have the R3 extreme range w/ GPS is going to the R4 worth it? Does the upgrade justify the cost? BT would be nice but I can live without it.
Sure the R3 is a great detector. The R4 has a little longer range, Bluetooth, autolockouts, and a few extra features, but the R3 is already solid. If you’re itching to upgrade, you can always check out the R3 SE firmware. ruclips.net/video/4zn3XCUGbj8/видео.htmlsi=vRtAwX7y_fB4n_xQ

You were about to show how to do a factory reset then you didn't. The manual says to simply press the Menu button, but that does not work. How do you do a factory reset????
I won't buy another Uniden. I have a R3 and the display started going bad during the first year of ownership. I sent it in and got the display replaced and, surprise, surprise, it did the same thing.
@@ar_2015 Why should that matter? My job is designing electronic products. If I include a display I make dang sure it will survive all operating conditions.
@@ar_2015 Since the manufacturer does not specify this in the owner's manual I'll have to assume you decided this is the preferred mode of operation. I design electronic products for a living. If it needs to be operated in this fashion I would say so.
I don't know if you can swap alert tones or not, but that would be a great option.... I'm used to the old pass port tones which I thought were great. Excellent videos, thanks for the help.
I noticed that the suction mount for the R4 is similar to the one used by Escort. except for the magnet. Has anyone ever tried to adapt the Escort M2 camera to the R4 or R8 to see if it works?

If the Max 4 didn’t have the alerting issues, I’d say Max 4, but since it does, the R4 is the way to go IMO.

V1G2 or R4 considering I would be doing a V1 upgrade...with sales right now price is about $200 difference...which is the more cost effective option?

Yep, use it update to the latest firmware to enable BT if you don’t have it already.
Why do the cameras overheat so often?
Shooting for long periods of time, it’s inevitable, even when it’s in the 60’s.

Oh, it’s one of the last options in the menu. I didn’t want to actually reset all my settings lol.

That's why yt are supposed to run it in dark mode, so the display only turn on when it gets an alert.

Yep, it works with both Uniden’s large single suction cup mount as well as the Blendmount.
