Makes sense that there's a different voice cast. Since it's not an official movie, that tends to make anyone who is related to the official work run away because they don't want to risk the legal fall out from working on anything that's a knock off.
27:34 I love how the dragon asks for a wish, and people immediately cover both Oolong and Roshi's mouths so they don't ruin it. 31:48 Also, that has got to be the most metal way to kill a villain, just summoning Shenron from inside the man's stomach.

its certainly a unique death for a ';dragon ball' villain sure it does take away goku er moneky's relevance as the hero but it IS a very unique and fun death for a villain, and a good way of using the earlier set up of him eating the dragon pearls so noone can take them from him against him

The Oolong transforming to Bulma moment Lani is talking about is after Master Roshi destroys Ox King's castle to put out a fire with the Kamehameha. Bulma had promised a walk/date/private time for Master Roshi if he put out the fire. When she had to hold up her end of the deal she pressured Oolong to transform into her so she wouldn't have to and Oolong of course chose to take some "liberties" lol.
12:50 Yes, that happened in both the original anime and manga. I know because I've been deeply researching release and development dates to figure out whether Dragon Ball or Dragon Quest did the Puff Puff joke first.
7:40 funny thing. when I was recently re-reading pre-Z Dragon Ball, in the manga, after he revives Bora. Bora makes a comments among the lines of "it's as if he was God's own child". which gave me pause becuase. Yes. Toriyama FAMOUSLY wrote without a plan, and famously had NO plan for Goku in terms of an origin. but for a moment I wondered "wait... was Toriyama maybe toying with the idea of making Goku have a divine parentage?"
Oh god I never knew there's a shitty CGI version, no wonder you thought this movie sucks. Why would they obscure the well choreographed fights and wireworks with bowling alley CGI. The original version is on RUclips if you look for it.
6:52 Honestly, I'll definitely defend Beast Wars there 'cause at least it was the second full-time CGI show ever made and the animators were professional, you can tell by the way the characters were animated that they at least know how to properly move characters around and have the mouths match the VAs... the CGI here is straight-up from a decade later (from the remaster, like they said) and those things in this movie are barely even animated to begin with xD
The only thing they added was the “enhanced cgi” I had the original cut as a kid I don’t believe any of the dialogue has been changed and I know they called them Dragon Pearls instead of Dragon Balls
Grandpa Gohan being called Sparkles reminds me of Spike Witwicky somehow being renamed Sparkles in the Hong Kong dub of Transformers: Headmasters.
