My theory is he is the super saiyan that destroyed himself in Vegetas early super saiyan lore. In Universe 7 the Evil saiyans were defeated by a super saiyan God but then eventually returned, and we know the saiyans had to find a new world after Sadala was destroyed, leading to them colonizing and renaming a new world Planet Vegeta. In universe 6...lets assume the Good Saiyans won,no super saiyan god needed, to explain the difference in species. Eventually when the evil saiyans made a resurgence, the plentiful Good Saiyans put a stop to it and captured Cumber before he could go Oozaru? The saiyans losing their original planet could likely be Cumbers fault since he corrupts saiyans. He may be the source of the evil saiyans returning back then. Since Fu can grab someone from any point in time, he simply collected the imprisoned Cumber from Universe 6s past. No one said he had to be from Goku and Vegetas era. Anyone like this theory?

to be fair: whiz says that the ultra instinct state and the ultra instinct transformation are two different kind of things. ultra instinct as the angels use it and goku is trying to learn after the tournament is how you describe it: a technique. not a powerboost. and in theory goku could learn to use it in base form (or any other form) - and we see glimpses of that in later arcs. the silver haired transformation he achieved when he fought jiren is based on the technique, but it is an actual transformation with a power boost. a kind of drawing out all your potential for a short time, which whiz advises to keep as a last trump card rather than rely on it.
There is something so funny about seeing the thumbnail for this side by side with MasakoX's Dragon Ball Daima reaction. It's like that one meme with the bus where one dude is looking at the sunset and one is looking at a rock face.

I think the anime probably "means more" if you read the manga version of Heroes. Because there's a later episode in the series that's just the ending of an arc with absolutely NO explanation. I looked into it and had more to explain what was happening, in the manga.
God that episode was jarring as heck. I haven’t been so confused since watching the Tsubasa spring thunder ova which also opens with an ending of an arc with no context to what’s happening.

so fun fact. *this* version of fu originated in heroes. original fu, much like towa and mira originates from dragonball online. originally the son of towa and mira i believe he's the final boss of the game and is a big fuck off dragon in that game, I might be wrong, finding footage of late game DBO is hard. this version does originate in heroes and later debuts in xenoverse 2 DLC where he was born from the egg that mira aborbs along with towa. in one of the endings his stomach glows before he dies and that's meant to be fu escaping and I guess being born. the whole scene is weird. for some reason only the player can see him too. that one is also weird
You are wrong, he ended never appearing in the game as Dragon Ball Online was EoD'd before that, but we could see some arts of him in a guidebook, where he looks like a baby with a goofy yellow hat, not a dragon.

My headcanon was that when Trunks and Mai timetravel to the other timeline at the end of the Zamasu arc, their ship is redirected by the Supreme Kai of Time to her place so Trunks can be her time patroller.

The better way I can describe Dragon Ball Heroes is simple: The story is written by a kid with a bunch of Dragon Ball figures just mashing en against each other making stories that go like "AND AND THEN THE 2 VEGITOS CAN'T WIN BUT BUT THEN GOKU GOES ULTRA INSTINCT AND HE'S SUPER DUPER DUPER POWERFUL ABD WINS... AND THEN ZAMASU SHOWS UP" Also, take a shot whenever this show has a toei character or concept bias (SSJ4, Broly and Gogeta specially... Make it double if it's 2 of those at once!)
Remember transformations and ki just enhance someone's base strength, but their base strength, being muscle and bone, never actually goes away. I always saw Ultra Instinct as a skill that bypasses the defense of Ki, basically making the fight the UI-user at their current power, vs their opponent with no ki-support. Explains a hell of a lot.
I will say, I love the concept of Cumber. An actual evil, malicious Saiyan. Not to say the rest of that race are guiltless in anyway, but they were conscripted. They had a society, they had a system, they had civility, such as it was. Cumber would be the equivalent of a criminal psychopath among his people, and I find that fascinating. I wish he was brought into the canon somehow.
I fully admit, I played Dokkan Battle for years. And my favorite team, by far, was Crossover/DB Heroes. As much as that game has its "look, Here's an SSJ Gogeta with lovingly recreated animations from Fusion Reborn!" My favorite team was built entirely on "Fuck it, here's Limit Breaker SSJ4 Vegito, SSG Trunks, SJ4 Broly, Golden Cooler, Supreme Kai of Time and SSJ3 Rose Goku Black" as a team. Just the wildest, stupidest, non-cannon nonsense that Ive never seen before but damn Im here for it.
My head cannon for why Future Trunks has different hair than kid trunks is they're not the same person. Future Trunks goes back in time to before he's conceived and interacts with both Vegeta and Bulma. It'd make sense that that interaction changed the circumstances of his conception, even slightly, which changed which spermatozoa reached the egg first. The name wouldn't change, but genetically Future Trunks and Kid Trunks would just be brothers.
Hair can change color as you age, not even just going grey. That's how I see trunks hair color changing. Stressful timeline and hair changing color from being outside more.
Bulmas hair changed from purple to blue as she grew up, based on manga or path to power. From dark green to blue otherwise. So....its just a thing in their family.
I would love to see a video where Kaiser explains why he is very adamant on pronouncing some names the Japanese way, such as Pan, but others he doesn’t, like Trunks.
as a sonic fan, yes i do know about the chain on planets, it's also just called little planet that eggman took over and it reminded me of how in sonic colors that Eggman took multiple planets to turn them into a theme park!
Fu was originally conceptualized for DB Online & even had a baby character design before they cancelled it. He was then incorporated into Xenoverse 2's DLC to make them have a main villain that ties them together in a weird, disconnected story arc told over those DLCs.
Surprised Scott isn't a fan of Trunks' blue hair. They changed it to blue in Super to be more accurate to the original manga since the purple hair was an error on the animation team's part back in the day and they just never bothered to fix it. Or at least along those lines from what I've seen and heard.
One thing i can appreciate about 'Heroes', is that it's batshit crazy. Because anything goes. So many what-if scenarios and power-ups with the characters. You want SSJ4 Vegetio? How about Jeneba Black, or perhaps SSJ4 Broly? And many, many more. They got you covered.
Super has characters say that ultra instinct doesn't actually make you "stronger" but the animation clearly ignores that. goku goes from barely being able to scratch Jiren to making him double over in pain from a gut shot
Bulma and Trunks both have their hair go from purple to blue after dealing with the stress of world ending events. Bulma's turns blue after Buu destroys the earth and kills all the humans and Trunk's coincidentally also turns blue around the time that the Buu events happen in his timeline lol

God, I damn near forgot about this promotional series (especially when it seemed like everyone was convinced that this was the follow-up to Super, even with all the advertisements present...) The one thing I did enjoy about the initial episodes were the outfit designs, since I did genuinely did like the concept of the RoF outfits, and their designs here (Capsule Corp logo aside) did fit more to Goku and Vegeta
On note about Fu he appeared as a baby in Dragon Ball Online. Then he appeared in XV2 next in his more modern design. Then Heroes used that design. A big thing to note is Heroes Fu and Xenoverse Fu are radially different characters (and I much prefer Xenoverse)

Maybe unrelated, but seeing Super Saiyan 4 and Blue side by side is actually a cool visual representation of the two things that Dragon Ball can be: over the top or contained. I prefer the Super Saiyan 4 because it looks more creative and falls more in line with what to expect from a Saiyan. Can't say the same about God Ki. Not to mention how Super Saiyan Blue has always been very shallow to me. Feels like regular Super Saiyan but with a different color. Zamasu wore it better at the very least, he can do cool stuff with the Super Saiyan God Ki by casting blades and scythes and whatnot.

I think the anime probably "means more" if you read the manga version of Heroes. Because there's a later episode in the series that's just the ending of an arc with absolutely NO explanation. I looked into it and had more to explain what was happening, in the manga.
God that episode was jarring as heck. I haven’t been so confused since watching the Tsubasa spring thunder ova which also opens with an ending of an arc with no context to what’s happening.

so fun fact. *this* version of fu originated in heroes. original fu, much like towa and mira originates from dragonball online. originally the son of towa and mira i believe he's the final boss of the game and is a big fuck off dragon in that game, I might be wrong, finding footage of late game DBO is hard. this version does originate in heroes and later debuts in xenoverse 2 DLC where he was born from the egg that mira aborbs along with towa. in one of the endings his stomach glows before he dies and that's meant to be fu escaping and I guess being born. the whole scene is weird. for some reason only the player can see him too. that one is also weird
You are wrong, he ended never appearing in the game as Dragon Ball Online was EoD'd before that, but we could see some arts of him in a guidebook, where he looks like a baby with a goofy yellow hat, not a dragon.

@@Amirifiz Yeah I was pretty sure Future Trunks and Mai from DBZ/Super are not the ones in Super Heroes. Also there's a Gohan that survived everything and lost everyone that has to be the actual worst timeline for him.
My headcanon was that when Trunks and Mai timetravel to the other timeline at the end of the Zamasu arc, their ship is redirected by the Supreme Kai of Time to her place so Trunks can be her time patroller.

The better way I can describe Dragon Ball Heroes is simple:
The story is written by a kid with a bunch of Dragon Ball figures just mashing en against each other making stories that go like "AND AND THEN THE 2 VEGITOS CAN'T WIN BUT BUT THEN GOKU GOES ULTRA INSTINCT AND HE'S SUPER DUPER DUPER POWERFUL ABD WINS... AND THEN ZAMASU SHOWS UP"
Also, take a shot whenever this show has a toei character or concept bias (SSJ4, Broly and Gogeta specially... Make it double if it's 2 of those at once!)

The thing with trunks hair is that toriyama forgot that it was purple, and nobody had the balls to say it.
Remember transformations and ki just enhance someone's base strength, but their base strength, being muscle and bone, never actually goes away. I always saw Ultra Instinct as a skill that bypasses the defense of Ki, basically making the fight the UI-user at their current power, vs their opponent with no ki-support. Explains a hell of a lot.
I will say, I love the concept of Cumber. An actual evil, malicious Saiyan. Not to say the rest of that race are guiltless in anyway, but they were conscripted. They had a society, they had a system, they had civility, such as it was. Cumber would be the equivalent of a criminal psychopath among his people, and I find that fascinating. I wish he was brought into the canon somehow.
But that is Broly already.

I fully admit, I played Dokkan Battle for years. And my favorite team, by far, was Crossover/DB Heroes.
As much as that game has its "look, Here's an SSJ Gogeta with lovingly recreated animations from Fusion Reborn!"

My head cannon for why Future Trunks has different hair than kid trunks is they're not the same person. Future Trunks goes back in time to before he's conceived and interacts with both Vegeta and Bulma. It'd make sense that that interaction changed the circumstances of his conception, even slightly, which changed which spermatozoa reached the egg first. The name wouldn't change, but genetically Future Trunks and Kid Trunks would just be brothers.

Hair can change color as you age, not even just going grey. That's how I see trunks hair color changing. Stressful timeline and hair changing color from being outside more.

Fu was originally conceptualized for DB Online & even had a baby character design before they cancelled it. He was then incorporated into Xenoverse 2's DLC to make them have a main villain that ties them together in a weird, disconnected story arc told over those DLCs.
Surprised Scott isn't a fan of Trunks' blue hair. They changed it to blue in Super to be more accurate to the original manga since the purple hair was an error on the animation team's part back in the day and they just never bothered to fix it. Or at least along those lines from what I've seen and heard.
Ironically, my Xenoverse 1 Saiyan was called Kyukombah. I can just imagine her being Cumber's sister. The Raditz to his Broly.
One thing i can appreciate about 'Heroes', is that it's batshit crazy. Because anything goes. So many what-if scenarios and power-ups with the characters. You want SSJ4 Vegetio? How about Jeneba Black, or perhaps SSJ4 Broly? And many, many more. They got you covered.
Super has characters say that ultra instinct doesn't actually make you "stronger" but the animation clearly ignores that. goku goes from barely being able to scratch Jiren to making him double over in pain from a gut shot
It doesn't make you stronger. It makes you able to use all of your body's power and speed to the maximum effectiveness
Bulma and Trunks both have their hair go from purple to blue after dealing with the stress of world ending events. Bulma's turns blue after Buu destroys the earth and kills all the humans and Trunk's coincidentally also turns blue around the time that the Buu events happen in his timeline lol

God, I damn near forgot about this promotional series (especially when it seemed like everyone was convinced that this was the follow-up to Super, even with all the advertisements present...)
The one thing I did enjoy about the initial episodes were the outfit designs, since I did genuinely did like the concept of the RoF outfits, and their designs here (Capsule Corp logo aside) did fit more to Goku and Vegeta
On note about Fu he appeared as a baby in Dragon Ball Online. Then he appeared in XV2 next in his more modern design. Then Heroes used that design.
A big thing to note is Heroes Fu and Xenoverse Fu are radially different characters (and I much prefer Xenoverse)
Trunk's blue hair is a result of the amount of timetravel he's done. That's my headcanon.
I would've gone with this too, but main timeline Trunks grows up to blue hair in The Super Hero movie

Yeah. I'm gonna go with that. '
Maybe unrelated, but seeing Super Saiyan 4 and Blue side by side is actually a cool visual representation of the two things that Dragon Ball can be: over the top or contained. I prefer the Super Saiyan 4 because it looks more creative and falls more in line with what to expect from a Saiyan. Can't say the same about God Ki. Not to mention how Super Saiyan Blue has always been very shallow to me. Feels like regular Super Saiyan but with a different color. Zamasu wore it better at the very least, he can do cool stuff with the Super Saiyan God Ki by casting blades and scythes and whatnot.
Dragon Ball Heroes has a couple of cuts animated by the legendary Naotoshi Shida. Can't wait for you two to get to them!
