I just bought a brand new 2023 Civic Touring in January 2023. I’m just 4’11” and need a small car. My primary complaint is they keep making the cars bigger! I absolutely love the new Civic, but I wish it was a small as my ‘02 Civic LX. Honda really knocked it out of the park with this 11th gen redesign. I really love the Civic’s understated exterior and semi-luxury, gorgeous interior. The driver’s seat has 8-way adjustable power too. And it’s less expensive than the Accord. For me, it’s the clear winner.
Absolutely love the new Accord. Looks so sleek. Spend an extra grand above the sport, get Sport L with leather and heated seats. I don't why people are hating on it cuz it looks absolutely gorgeous and elegant.
Great comparison of the two Honda vehicles. I have driven both and settled on the Accord because of its power and a little larger interior space. I am fairly big guy and that had a lot to do with the choice. Being slightly larger the Accord seemed like it would be safer in an accident. Thank you, guys, as always great video!
Just bought a meteorite gray 2023 accord touring hybrid, with the desert package. Damn I hated the body at first, because I showed up to buy a civic. When I saw the accord in person, I fell for it a lot because pictures dont capture it correctly in my opinion. I’m an artist by trade, so I tend to focus on aesthetics. Also, the interior is freaking great, Bose speakers, AC seats, and an improvement over previous years. Also, it has self driving like a Tesla. Gets like. 50mpgs nearly. Have not second guessed this decision even one time.
As a 38 year loyal customer of Honda/Acura, I really wanted to like the new Accord. However, as the satisfied owner of a '21 Accord Touring 2.0T, the '23 falls well short of my hopes and expectations. I just wish that Honda would have nixed the 1.5T engine, offered the hybrid as their core engine and kept the amazing 2.0T for those of us who prefer the higher performance. When I replace my '21, I'm sad to say that it will likely not be with a Honda product for the first time since getting my very first Honda. (a 1980 Honda Prelude), when I was 17 years old.
Seems like Honda has moved the 2.0 upmarket between civic type R , Integra type s, and TLX. I also wonder how much of this is related to improving overall mpg for the fleet since no EV option exists yet. 38 years is a long time! I stayed with Nissan 17 until recently switching to Acura.
@Nobody I kept my first Honda for 14 years, it was a 7th gen Accord LX V6 (3.0L NA). I buy most my Honda's at the 3 to 4 year mark, mostly Lease turn-ins. I can usually get one for 70% off retail from when it was new. Saved thousands over the years buying well maintained Honda's and they just keep going.
@Nobody I didn't say I wanted to get rid of it. I said I wanted to like the '23 Accord. That does not mean I was going to run out and dump my '21 for a '23. It does let me know that I won't be buying an 11th generation Accord whether it be a '23 or a '27, if the best Honda can offer is 204hp.
All the funny reviews were right, this new Accord does look like an AI generated NPC car. I used to be a big Accord fan, but buying this new civic over the Accord makes much more sense now.
I bought a new 2022 Accord Special Edition a few months ago and I’m so glad I didn’t wait. This new Accord looks like it devolved and has the same engine as the previous gen.
I have a 2023 palisade calligraphy and I don’t do much driving really and before moving to Kia/Hyundai I was a die hard Honda guy and had a 2016 accord and 2019 accord and loved them but just started feeling like I was getting the same car over and over again and Honda wasn’t trying to update and was just comfortable because we bought the cars regardless. Anyway I say this to say for some reason I want to get myself a accord because want that car feel and great mileage and feel like they finally tried to give you more finally but it would just be pointless for me to get a 2nd car because I barely even drive the car I gave now. Lol
If it ain't broke, don't fix it mentality on Honda's part. I would not want to deal with the head aches I hear my friends have with their Kia/Hyundai cars.
Exl has sensors, I think you should have compared civic touring to exl trim. Sport strips many things out for larger rims and blacked out plastic for the kids
Deciding between an Accord EX-L and a Civic touring right now. This was helpful! I'll need to test drive the cars again to make a final call, but leaning towards the Accord atm.
I’m really sick of waiting for the Civic hybrid in America. By the time we get it Europe will have had it for two years and I’m not going to be surprised if there’s somehow still extremely limited supply
Honda has the worst hybrids. After warranty the repair costs of a hybrid va non hybrid accord is night and day. You guys will learn! Had two hybrids and mpg went from 50 to 27-34 after software update to keep batteries from degrading. Screw you Honda. Still better than Toyota, but Toyota batteries are better and more reliable guys. Still gonna buy a civic touring, but front two honda hybrids I’ve owned they’re complete trash guys
I picked the civic hatch sport touring, I needed that extra flexibility but the accord was super nice and it was super spacious, but the civic isn’t THAT much smaller inside. It’s smaller for sure, but if the accord incorporated the lift back like the civic it would have been a no brainer.
@@ecordero77 I wanted a standard so bad, I’ve never owned an automatic until this civic. But none where available and I had just totaled my old car and needed to get in something. I hope you enjoy it!!!

You do not account for that eventually the hybrid battery will need to be replaced. This adds quite an expense (estimates are 3K-8K) to the Accord for long term ownership. Accords/Civics (gas models) are known to go 150,000-200,000 mile with no big issues. I had been driving Accords L model for many years. They no longer make the L model in an non hybrid Accord. I've owned two hybrid model Accords (2017 and 2019) which I had to sell when they hit 95,000 miles (I have along commute) since the battery goes out of warranty at 100,000 and the estimates are all over the place to replace the hybrid battery. I was willing to pay 3K but not 8K. Since they don't make a gas only Accord-L any longer, I purchased a CR-V-L in a gas only model. Nice, but I miss my Accord. If you do lots of miles, these are the issues you face with Hybrid cars. Check your state law since the Hybrid system is part of the emission control, the warranty is determined by State law: IE: Pennsylvania requires 100K warranty on the battery, New Jersey requires 150K. I can't imagine the cost of a hybrid motor or a high energy converter.
2 different markets. Accord is definitely geared towards a older audience although it has more space for families unless you buy a civic hatchback which hybrid configuration next year will be my winner. Hopefully the pricing will be reasonable. Honda- please make 8 way power passenger seats standard for top trims in civic and especially Accord

I keep waiting for the new Accords designed to grow on me just not. I really like the Civic. I loved the previous Accord. I think I might go with a slightly used G70 for not much more $
Both the exterior and interior of the Civic looks much better than the Accord. Also, the Civic has more standard features in the interior though the set up of materials look identical which sucks because you get the full size sedan for a different (better) equipment and options) not the same duplicated items. The Forte, Corolla & Elantra which are in the same class as the Civic look completely different than their bigger siblings (K5, Camry & Sonata) but with the Accord it’s like you’re getting the same exact blown version of the car plus a little uglier in the exterior with the Accord. Minus the fog lights. Personally I’d buy the Civic.
what a lazy design by the accord team. they basically just brought everything from the civic to the accord. I'm still in love with my 2018 accord with the 2.0 turbo 6 SPEED MANUAL. if i could have one thing from the 2023 version into my 2018 will be the full screen cluster display, other than that there’s nothing else i would change about my car
The Civic is very loud. It may have a premium sound system but it is drowned out by the loud tire noise at highway speeds. Also the auto-dimming mirror doesn't work half the time and even when it does, it barely cuts down on blinding lights. It's basically useless. I much prefer being able to turn the mirror down manually at night which is a true dimming not just slightly. Also why is $2315 worth 2 points? Most people finance which means that in terms of monthly payments there will be barely any difference. To me this is worth 0.5 points at most which means the Accord is the winner.
I think you guys do an awesome job and I’ve been following you guys for a while. I think it would be cool to see a comparison with the fully loaded Acura Integra versus the accord touring

Civic is poor seating posture and lack of power. The beast accord is king
Honda Civic mk8 is my favorite .,
Other brands have offered pano sunroofs, Honda still lacks.
Wish the top trims were available WITHOUT sunroofs. Hate those as they rob headroom, and almost always end up leaking!
What's with the all black interiors these days? Do people really want this?
eCVT is much better than CVT..
I will go the Accord
Honda accord is so big … amazing
The rear lights of the new civic looks like a downgrade from the older sharp versions
Looks good
The Civic is very loud.
Smart buyers pay cash for cars because of ridiculously high interest rates.
@@user-3tf67bk46u Exactly! This is why dealerships love financing customers because you can make them pay 2-5k more so easily!
@@braetonwilson4296 my interest rate was 1.9%
@@virgo8693 when did you buy your car? Interest rates have increased a lot very recently.

Hatchback is still cheaper and storage is way better, Civic all the way
Rica etsem altyazı seçeneklerine Türkçe dil seçeneği ekleyebilir misiniz? Sizi anlamak be takip etmek istiyorum!
That rear light strip going across the back of the car is so damn ugly on the Accord. Wtf was Honda thinking!? 🤦🏽♂️
If you can't afford accord buy civic is that simple
how does accord still expensive than civic?
New accord is sooo boring inside and out. Civic wins on looks . Didn’t think I’d ever say that lol
The Accord is so ugly , I’ve seen it in person and it’s hideous
anyone know if future Honda or Toyota sedans will be AWD
The Toyota sedans already offer AWD
I think you guys do an awesome job and I’ve been following you guys for a while. I think it would be cool to see a comparison with the fully loaded Acura Integra versus the accord touring
Thank you! We will make note of that suggestion for a future comparison 👍
The ugly accord is growing in me. I saw on next to my 2020 model.
Civic Touring all the way
