Man, I am beyond excited for this trail. I live outside of St. Louis MO, but I love coming down to Arkansas. The land down there is beautiful. Thank you for making this trail Matt!
My son invited me and a friend of his to the Ozarks on the first week of sept 2020 We did it in 3 Colorado’s... Before the trip he showed us one of your videos.. And behold we actually cross paths.. I recognized you in your black Jeep!! Great videos.. you inspire others to get up and go... nice .... maybe next time I’ll Book a trip with you and enjoy much more of the Ozarks
Just wrapped up days 1-3 of OOAT. Absolutely amazing even though it rained for the first two days. We were not able to cross the Big Piney because the current was just too strong and deep, but found an awesome campsite elsewhere. It was fun visiting these same places and the videos were a tremendous help. Thank you!
Loving the videos! Great filming!!! Definitely easier to film when you have two people in the rig; but I get the exercise comment. I end up running in front of the Jeep for half the trail it feels like. 🤣. Anyway, you are doing a great job capturing the adventure. Makes me want to step up my game. ❤️🐞
Really enjoy your videos. I recognize some of the roads like the car wash spot day 1, not others. Arkansas can be pinstripe alley, Ouachitas and Ozarks. Hopefully we will run into each other down the road.
A word of warning here: Stay on the designated trail, haha. We decided to veer off on FSR 1821 (middle of day 2) thinking it might be faster. Wrong. Not only were multiple trees down in the trail (bypasses exist that are obstacles in themselves), but I'm still traumatized by the pin-striping the 4runner received. The locals know best. Thanks again guys for building this route, we had a blast over the couple days we were able to run it.
We planned to stay Friday night at Haw Creek for Labor Day weekend but I figured it would be packed! Oh well, Indian Creek wasn't terrible lol. [It was pretty awesome, actually!]
working my way through this series...... and i love it!! Traded in my Tacoma for an f150 for bigger size. The trail vid gives me a good perspective on what i believe my leveled on 33's ford could or safely handle! Thanks Matt! Been itching for a multi day trail that can kinda hit everything in the ozarks without tearing up my rig!!! excellent series!!!!
My wife is terrified of water crossings. I think we will do day two backwards to avoid crossing the river. Hopefully we can get her comfortable with it.
I love these videos! I have thought Overlanding is just the type of adventure I need in my life and these videos prove it. I'm looking into getting a rig soon. I do have a question though. Other than a lift and bigger tires, what other modifications do you find necessary for a good rig?
It honestly just depends on your rig and where you're wheeling and the conditions you will face. In the Ozarks I recommend a mud tires (ATs don't do as well in the Ozark clay), and if not a snorkel then at least have your differential, transmission and transfer case breathers extended to protect those from the water crossings and mud holes you will encounter.
Great video!!! I'll be down Oct 9,10 and 11 can't wait to run some of these trails. JKU on 33s and a stock JLU, any recommendations on a good spot for a base camp so we don't have to pack up and move camp?
I've looked online for a map of the Ozark 1000. Where do you get your maps from? We want to do this type of trail. Not really into all day rock crawling. Wanna kick it like y'all are doing here. This looks great. Right up our alley. Great Video's.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures guess I was told wrong. I'm looking into the On X Off-Road Maps today to get the trails in the Ozarks. It won't be long, and we will be ready to ride.
Luis Perez I don’t think you would get very far with that setup without damaging the trailer. When I take my trailer in the Ozarks I set up a base camp and leave it and run trails without it.
Curious what yall did to manage refilling gas. Did you have the gas stops planned already near the trail and pull off and back on? How many times did you need to refill for the 5 day trek?
Great video. My sister and Brother-In-Law are coming up from Texas in March and I want to take on some of this route. I have an Black Series Alpha camper and was wanting to know if you hit any areas that it may not fit through?
Trying to Bert my brother to do a weekend trip with me over Christmas. Well have about two days in the ozarks. Both fairly new to off-roading. What two days of this trip do you think were the easiest?
I do not know the history of the name, what jimm and many others called it, I think on the old maps actually had it on them, named, turned many a dirt bike around..

Matt, another amazing adventure. I sure am enjoying this series. Thank you for sharing with us.
Thanks for that!!!
Thanks for the work you put into these trails. We were in the same area that day. We may check out one of your day trips next week.
The Samson’s that’s awesome. Have fun!!!
LOVING your videos! I'm not far away in STL. Would love to wheel/overland with y'all someday. Rock on, be safe!
Heck yeah!! Come on down!
Ok, just have to say, that opening line "today's breakfast is brought to you by poptart" just hit me super funny!
Another great day. Thanks for sharing.
Very welcome
@4:00 Spider-friend makes an appearance. Just returned from some scouting on some very tight Ozark trails...re-homed many, many spiders onto my LX....
Tim Temple OMG!! So many spiders on my Jeep!!! 😂

I hope you can!!!

Being from australia its interesting to see that jeeps are common where here you almost never see a jeep out when touring/overlanding
rudvs I agree. It’s odd to me to watch Australia videos and not see Jeeps. Lol.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures well we like reliable rigs
rudvs 😂😂
Great video! Anyone can tell the effort that was made behind the camera.
jessemeanlt1 thanks so much!!!

The Samson’s heck yeah!! Do it any way you want. just go when the water is low.
Matt you ever watch the Coyote Ugly overlanding videos, his oration is exellent.
another great video..
thanks.
Terry M I have not but I’ll check him out. Thanks.
Do you mean Coyote Works?
Coyote Works, is the Channel.
Awesome off-roading

Awesome video again. I really enjoy watching them but...these waits tho!🤦♂️😂
HAHAHAHAHA. Next one on Sunday.
Ozark Overland Adventures Sunday??? That’s like 4 days!😂
Michael Rowland 😂😂😂 I know!!!
Omg that’s too long to wait. Come on Matt 😂
HAHAHAHAHA. Building anticipation.
Love the videos how about a 150 on 33 think i could make it . would love to try .peace have a great day
You'd be ok as long as you don't care about scratches.
Haven't had it out live south Florida going to try to come up in 2021

will the fj cruise endure that kind of terrain? newbie here
An FJ would be perfect for it!

Any camper through the Ozarks is going to be a challenge. I think you will be find on days 1-3.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures great thank you. We're only there for couple of days so should be good
Would love to do this in our can am how many miles a day did you drive and are there places to veer off and get gas
I don't think you can legally do this in a side by side.
That looks awesome! Where are you located?
Trying to Bert my brother to do a weekend trip with me over Christmas. Well have about two days in the ozarks. Both fairly new to off-roading. What two days of this trip do you think were the easiest?
1-3 are the easiest.
I’m new to all of this could somebody explain to me how to download and view his trail?
It works much easier on a PC than a phone.
How much gas did you burn throw out the trip? From saline county.
david dean how much gas?
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures yes sorry
david dean two tanks. We all had to refuel in Oark on day 3.
just got back from taking my tacoma out there its a great place

What drone and camera!?
DJI Mavic Air 2. Camera is a mixure of GoPro Hero 8s, and iphone 11 pro max on this video.
Is there a map of this route available ?
Link is in the description. There’s also a Facebook group for it.
How much extra fuel do you carry on trips like this?
5 gallons. There is only one fuel stop along this route and sometimes it's closed.
BTWthat Big Piney Crossing is called Billy Jack Ford...
Terry M I’ve never heard it called that. Thanks!!!
