For some reason I’d miss the spot at 3:58 and try to till the replacement tile early so it’d only partially work. Then I’d just use the same trick around the beach to net me about 7-10k depending on how long I did it. Once i did it right I got about 20k while rushing due to time. Didn’t expect my first winter to be this profitable
I believe in the 1.6 patch notes he mentioned that he changed the forage to be actually random, I’m not certain though. This method was before that update so that would be why
Does this work with clay in winter? I tried to farm clay in winter using joetg's technique, but it didn't work. Maybe because snow yam and roots diluted the loot table?
So clay is only in Spring Summer and Fall. It does appear in tile tables in Winter but yes it is basically replaced by Winter Root and Snow Yam which actually sells for a bit more. This is very similar to Joe's technique but in Winter with a little bit of a different pattern

@EthanM_ I think I mostly got it after doing it acouple of times, the method alone is pretty easy to follow its just those extra strays you can get can be alittle confusing but ty

hello, i dont know if you are still commenting but after you complete the pattern all the way up to you show it and continue the 10-till method, you encounter a piece of debris in the middle of the path and that seems to break the sequence for me. is there any replacement tile for this or any way to continue it after this point?
Ok i just tested it is 3 up 1 left for the retill and then it starts 2 to the left of the first spot in that line and continues from there. Sorry it took so long for me to reply lol. But I did test and it works
It does work but only if you select Use Legacy Random in the settings or edit the game files to change this setting. Unfortunately this was one of the things patched for most farms
@@EthanM_ no because you can turn the winter root into seasonal seeds with seed makers and even with artisam, and turning highest selling winter foragable into jam, it loses the competition against tea saps. maybe you misread my comment because i ment turning the foragables u got from this tequnique into season seeds.

Sometimes it can break. If you do the retill it should work. I explain retilling at 6:42 . If the pattern is still broken I would consider just restarting from the first tile. It can take a long time to get it down and sometimes it isn't even your fault that the tile breaks
By first winter, you should have a viable setup with a good enough income that its not worth wasting time with this. I got my kegs, preserve jars, animals, greenhouse, and winter seeds making me boat loads of cash. My winter focus is to get my fishing to 10, finish upgrading my coop, barn, shed, and house and having at least 2 of every animal including dinosaurs, and filling shed up with kegs
yeah you can’t clay farm in 1.6 but if you start a new save you can turn on legacy randomization and that will let you. you have to start a new save but i’ve found it worth it for sure
So the pattern did change in 1.6. If you are creating a new farm you can do Use Legacy Randomizer in the settings tab when you first make the file and it will work. Sadly though that's the only way it works
This is my very first playthrough and I find this game overwhelming. I literally have nothing for winter. No coops. No greenhouse. No money. I wish I had found this exploit earlier.
I feel your pain, dude. I managed to scrape together a barely decent fund at the end of fall, but not enough to upgrade my tools beyond copper and build a coop. Also, I never unlocked the greenhouse. I didn't even know about the greenhouse until I started watching videos near the end of fall. The game is fun, and a little overwhelming and if I'm being completely honest, annoying at times. I'm just not going to have the first year I see a lot of people having. 🤔 Makes me question if the videos I'm watching are first playthroughs or edited after multiple attempts. LOL It doesn't seem realistic but maybe I'm not that good. Oh, well. I will continue because I'm really enjoying it despite some annoyances. Good luck!

This pattern doesn't work on Switch. Due to this there have been some work done on Switch with manually trying to find patterns without the use of predictor tools since the coding doesn't work the same as it does on PC and we can't just look at it easily. So the answer is it does work on switch but sadly not this pattern
If the pattern is followed exactly it should work. Although sometimes the pattern can get lost at the end of a line. Just keep going until you get 2 no forage spots in a row and then if you use the retill method it should fix any issues. I hope this makes sense. It's a bit complex to explain

1.6 changes this pattern to be random so it wont work at all, you are doing something wrong if you are at 1.5
For me only the first 4 give a foragable, then it goes down to 3, then 2, then 1. I am following exactly.
The issue is you need to use retill spots if the pattern breaks. I left a note in the timestamps if you have this issue

I would have to look into it. Usually the retill spot is up 2 left 1. I would try that. I can find a retill spot in a few hours if needed

It doesn't seem to work for me, i tikl the first four tiles in the pattern and after that i get nothing
sometimes the way the pattern is you'll need to do a retill to continue the pattern. I explain retilling towards the end of the video

As long as you untill the one that doesn't produce forage and the one before it in that pattern it should fix itself. Not sure why it isn't working

It works using Legacy RNG. Which can be found in the creation settings. I also believe there is a way to edit an old save to have Legacy RNG
