I'm starting with small projects and I'm not in a rush. That allows me to enjoy another new art form. There is always a work around! Glad you are going to give it a try. Thanks for watching.
Hi Laura. You did a great job, and better than my first attempt with a better branch too lol. I don't think every one has to get curls in the tail, and though it looks nice yours looks nice too. I am not a great whittler, but every now and then something amazing finds its way out of the wood I'm whittling and despite my best efforts to ruin it, it emerges triumphant. X
That is so weird I just started trying carving last weekend and I have a knife just like that in the mail on the way…. I have a rooster too ! 🐓 he turned out adorable!!!! I need to try that instead of having my hopes up on a Santa Claus Christmas ornament ! Lol
@@LaurasArtBasement yes mam I will try . But I will definitely try the rooster and I also forgot to say I have a carved rooster like that that we bought at a craft booth🐓😊
Don't worry about one leg being shorter...Just name him, Eilene... Your other knife looks to be a Solingen #58...Great steel in that blade. Should be able to sharpen it enough to shave the hair off a gnats legs
dry wood will curl better than wet/green wood -it’s a fun project!
Thank you for the tip!
Doug!
Thanks Doug

Really nice
Thank you!
Could you tell me what model knife you purchased?
I have two Flexcut knives; one roughing knife and one detail knife. They were recommended and are very nice.
Well done. Thank you.
