Throwback to Terrell Davis’s amazing rookie season. He should’ve won rookie of the year but Curtis Martin beat him out. Terrell Davis the hall of fame running back went on to have an amazing short lived career. ruclips.net/video/HckP7R92_L8/видео.html Here are his highlights to the 1998 seasons which is the year he ran for 2000 yards!
My favorite Bronco for a long long time, now I'd say second to Champ Bailey. Actually y met Terrell by chance at a golf tourney and it was a highlight for myself and was a moment I'll never forget. I gushed over how great he was and reeled off stat after stat as to why he should be in the HoF. He was real humble and said it would never happen. He even took a pic with me and I have the biggest grin on my face. HoF is well deserved.
TD had it all: speed, power, change of direction, moves ( his spin move was trade mark), hands and heart. Sad to se him had such a short career...he was the best back of his era...and the best in playoffs.
I mean Sanders, Payton, Emmitt, CJ2K, Faulk, Henry, Campbell anyone you could think of he could do that and then some. Maybe not blazing fast, but deceptively quick, outstanding vision, great hands out of the backfield and one of the strongest backs ever. Outrun you, make you miss, run you over, west coast back, the only knock is that he didn't play longer and how low he was drafted.
When I'm trying to teach RB how to run outside zone TD is my go to. His timing is just perfect. No one in the history of the game ran outside zone better than TD.
TD cured my lingering heartbreak regarding Bobby Humphrey when he showed up. The clip in this is interesting where the announcer mentions Elway saying TD was the best RB he had ever played with. To go out of his way to feed that to the announcers on media day so early into the RC year. Of course this would be proven true in short order, but it made me think of Bobby Humphrey again ... in that I don’t think Elway liked BH that much as I do believe his holdout might have been solved much quicker if John had made a strong push to get him paid and back in the lineup. Didn’t happen of course & seemed like JE was content going instead with a Gaston Green & Greg Lewis pu pu platter in place of BH & then ok with the spare parts Sammy Smith trade later.
Yeah that clip was a little odd at first, that was only 10 games into Terrell Davis’s Career and John Elway already declared him better then Sammy Winder and Bobby Humphrey. You’re right that holdout it probably built a lot of tension between Bobby Humphrey and the Broncos(specifically John Elway). Very interesting, John Elway did turn out to be right though. Terrell Davis turned into the best running back in Broncos history.
Im a Steelers fan and hated the Broncos teams of the mid to late 90's and it was because of TD, he scared me more than any other opposing RB. And he wasnt blazing fast but once he DID make that one cut in the backfield, the guy got up the field quicker than Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, Jerome Bettis or Curtis Martin, the other big RB's of the time.

We love T.D here in colorado even still. A great human and our best player ever. I wish he could have played longer.
Best running back EVER
So much fun to watch, was always moving forward, and always classy. TD.
