@@theAwakenedOne007 3 months in now and it feels even more natural to sit in than before and it's become easier to adjust to the right settings :) Also, surprisingly the material is doing quite well despite me pointing my space heater right at myself all the time in the winter haha!
@@MikeWat so I bought one last month based on your video and a couple RUclipsrs. Unfortunately, the chair did not work for me. The quality is very nice. The seat is very comfortable. But, in the end, it didn't work. The edge of the seat was cutting the circulation off of my legs. I had to use the foot rest for this not to happen. And I move to 3 desks during my work day, so moving the foot rest around was not working at all. They were very nice about it. Gave me 100% all my money back. The chair is very expensive, so thank goodness the refund worked out.
I have used an Anthros for a couple months now. Once dialed in I found it to be very comfortable. I am short so a tall foot rest was important. 100% agree on the arm locks, especially the side to side angle adjustment. I am always knocking that to the side when I sit down.
The Anthros Chair looks great. I have the gaming embody, which i bought about 6 months ago and I love it BUT i do have 2 complaints. The first is relatively minor but is definitely something that I notice fairly often...I'm 6'1" and pretty broad shouldered, it would be perfect if the armrests went "one click" wider. My arms are always angled in at a bit of an awkward angle at the widest setting. Second, and this is the more serious complaint, after sitting for an hour or so my tailbone really starts to hurt. I have to stand up for a bit every hour to relieve the pressure/pain in that one area. Otherwise, the chair feels great but maybe something like this Anthros, with its plusher seat would have been better for me. But, I cant afford to just buy another chair lol. Wish HM would take the idea of long game sessions into consideration when designing a $2000 chair and make sure they padded the seat enough.
Yup, the tail bone pain is real. I said that in my review of the embody as well. However it did get better over time....hope that's the case with you as well!
@@MikeWat Unfortunately no. I have a case of buyers remorse with this chair. It looks great and it’s comfortable enough for 45 min or so but after that, it’s tailbone pain and standing up to relieve it.
Straight up great video and review. Been banging my head for a whole week now trying to find alternatives to what's mainstream and found this. This looks like it fits the ticket for me, albeit for a huge price tag. You (typically) get what you pay for, though.. and the Anthos has some really awesome features.
You made an excellent video! I was really confused about which one to buy between both, but you've helped me make a clear choice. Big thanks, man, all the way from India!
Man this is such a great review of both chairs. The only knock against the Embody seems to be the arms and how they don't work well close to the desk. Well, that and the lack of adjustable lumbar support. It's something you just have to try and see if it works for you.
When you sit in this chair do you have to adjust the lumbar and pelvic support everytime or does it hold its position so you can just sit in the chair like before and be fine? Seems like you’d have to adjust to get comfortable if you get up and sit back down for some reason
@@MikeWat ok first day with it. Immediately notice seat was more comfortable than secret labs as more I sat in it later started to feel a slight uncomfortable most likely do to to straight posture. I'll give it a week to get use to it if not it'll definitely go back and I'll try the embody.
@@waifoos3213 Your back will start using different muscles, I found it interesting to notice! Thanks for this!! Really appreciate you showing if you can play guitar in this as that's one of the big questions I have about chairs. If I can't move the arms out of the way, it's an instant no.
This is literally a debate I have been considering over the past year or so, when I first heard of the Anthros Chair.. As I do have the LGtechHM Embody bought a few years ago,... And I do find it really comfortable and can sit all day in it working from home, I do have back issues, but doesn't hurt sitting in Embody I do think my HM Embody helps, but I do wonder if its worth it to get Anthros for even more corrective proactive posture.. I think If I get a 2nd desk setup in my home office I would get the Anthros but for now I still really enjoy my HM Embody.
I feel like the gaming embody made my lower back issues worse. Also when I sit in it for just a few seconds it pulls my achilles tendons which has caused me to have heel pain
I got the embody gaming chair a little over 2 weeks ago and plan on returning it soon. The reason is that I feel fatigue or pain in my lower back while using the chair. The cushion itself is really good but its back rest that's making me want to return it. So should I switch over to the anthros to help with my lower back pain?
How tall are you? I am 6 foot 6 and I think your problems with the back rest might be no existent for me and actually fit my body size perfectly? What do you think? @MikeWat
Those chairs will last at least a decade. That's $200 a year to not have to deal with severe back pain from cheap chairs. I have an Embody, and it's worth every penny.
I've been using the Embody for a year and a half now and I really like it. I am a habitual lounger and its tilt feature is excellent. Sitting straight up is no doubt more ergonomic, but I found that tilting back takes the pressure off of my spine that you can get after sitting straight for hours.
@@TieitAndFlyit Lower back pain mostly. I have scoliosis and pelvic tilt. The Embody just isn't comfortable to me, the way the seat sits it pulls my hamstrings causing me heel pain and the plastic sides dig into my thighs causing hip pain.
Chair seems amazing. I was hit by a drunk driver a couple of years ago and it nakes sitting up for too long painful before i need to lay down again, but damn can I not justify spending 2k on a chair right now for the hope that it might help me 😂
@IICAPII everyone's body is different. I love mine. Plus not everyone can pay €2000 for a chair. If these companies really cared about people their health and back, they would make these chairs affordable for everyone. I couldn't pay that much for a chair even if I had the money. But that is each to their own.
Ironically enough, i’ve been searching for a new desk chair. I’m a software engineer and I spend about 10+ hours a day sitting my chair, but… I still can’t justify $2k on chair… it just doesn’t make sense. Yes, I can afford it, and yes I understand you can’t put a price on keeping yourself healthy. But no chair costs this much to produce. Materials, engineering, ect, 2k does not make sense. Just seems like your paying for the name instead of the product, like buying a gucci shirt vs buying a regular shirt
I wish I could fly you and every other person whom feels this way on a full tour of our tier 1 suppliers and our factory wherw we make this chair. I could show you in depth what it really takes/costs to make this chair. You would quickly see that the major players in race car seats make WAAAY more profit by offering you all such less human performance and chair component quality. You get what you pay for with HM and Anthros products. No margin scam here my friend.
I'd say a standing desk would help a ton as sitting for that long is not healthy at all. I'm guilty of this as well and trying to work on it. Another great option is to try and find one of these chairs used or refurbished. Big savings like that.
@@stevendufresne134 I would love to believe this… but the material cost just doesn’t add up. Plastic, wood, and metal.
