'The Thirteenth Tree' by R. H. Malden

Taken from Malden's only book of ghost stories, Nine Ghosts (1943), and clearly influenced by M.R. James. There are clear parallels with several of MRJ's stories here for the aficionado to spot.

Love your readings but your audio is difficult to hear. I have my volume maxxed out and still can't hear it. Maybe it's a ME problem.
