    Great comparison but without taking the firearm to the range it leaves me wanting more info. In my opinion the Ruger is as good or better firearm than the Hellcat. He really did not mention it but the grip on the Ruger is larger and makes it easier to reacquire your target. Finally I really do not care about the box as long as the firearm does not get damaged during shipping.

    The build quality of the Hellcat is superior imo. The Ruger warns against using plus-p rounds, not to mention the sites on the Springfield are brighter and easier to pickup the target.

    After research I went with the Max 9 to save some money. Big mistake. The trigger safety is sharp and pointed resulting in a trigger finger blister after 100 rounds. Good is rarely cheap and cheap is rarely good. I’m trading up for the Hellcat.

    I thought the Ruger magazine was staggered but I can't tell with only 2 side cutouts. Appear to be the same width as the Springfield magazine. I have a Ruger MK 3 so that take down pin is nothing.

    Ok, so after a couple of replies I made to other folks, here's the thing. Being retired on a fixed budget my issue is will it get the job done at a price I can afford? I own 2 Rugers. I like them quite a bit. Admittedly, Ruger is light on bells and whistles. They aren't as pretty as the Hellcat, Shield +, P365, etc. But damn, they work, and I dry fire practice a lot. As a CCW firearm nobody is admiring how the gun looks stuck down my pants. And, if confronted by a bad guy I am really sure they aren't admiring how a 9mm 124gr hp bullet looks coming at them at 1165 fps. What I most love is the optic ready slide, which co-witnesses with the front and rear sights. I require RDS optics for my 70 yr-old eyes. I used to work in a gun store and when this topic came up the refrain was always, "what's your life worth?" That is an unfair question. What is the best firearm you can afford that will get the job done? That's my response. The one thing that makes me consider the Hellcat is the front pick rail. I think you need a light, but my larger home defense gun has the light, This is for SHTF in the Walmart, or Supercuts stuff. I've watched enough real-time CCW videos on RUclips and not one ever included a flashlight in the event. So, that's my buck 2-80 opinion. I do respect yours.

    • @Slavinatorski
      @Slavinatorski  3 года назад

      That makes a very good point. When on a specific income, the best bang for the dollar is important. As long as it's a reliable piece and is there when you need it, that's what's important. Both of these are great options, and I agree with you as well. Both will get the job done, but one will allow you to save some cash.

      @@Slavinatorski I found it this morning checking gun deals for each gun. At that time all the Max 9s were listed for prices in the $600s while there were Hellcats OSP with manual safety in the $500s. Tonight I saw listings for Max 9s at $424.99 and $549.99 but they were out of stock.

    Nice review but I like the Rugers feel and looks so much better. You need to shoot both before making decision. I am aware that many have sold hellcat after shooting it. I love the rugers look so much better. Especially the top of slide looks and cuts on front top of slide. Hellcat seems very top heavy. Not balanced. Ruger Max all the way.

      @@toy4tao You didn't ask me but I do think the Hellcat is snappy but manageable. However, most tiny guns in the same category or tiny single snaps are generally the same way as well. As long as you have a proper grip, you can shoot really well with it even though you feel the recoil
