- Summer is on the horizon and Florida can quickly become a steamy oasis - Humidity, am I right! We found this property in a state of neglect by the homeowner which we were not able to get in contact with. However, we have been in this area more than once to complete free lawn maintenance. Once we found this overgrown property we decided to do the neighborly thing and transform the property for free for the community in this area.

The red flowers are Amaryllias. They belong to the Lilly family,. I believe. I have had mine for 40+ years. Their bulbs have been passed down in our family for generations.
And they smell Divine!

Yes those are magnolia cones. I have them fallen from my trees all in the yard. Have to be careful when getting in my car not to step on them and fall. The flowers is an amaryllis. Those grapevines that were hanging down where the Amaryllis were growing reminded me of growing up in a holler and my friends and I would roam all over the hills and swing on the grapevines. I believe your gorgeous flowers that you found are amaryllis plants. You’re so lucky out your way in that you can grow them outdoors and leave them all year. You’re probably zone 7-9.

I have seen a video that someone up in Canada loved their plants so much that they built a green house inside their own home so they could have them all year round. I myself wouldn’t have the room inside for that so it’s good that our weather is the way it is. 😊

@@cjmowing In Canada, the amaryllis bulbs are most often available at Christmas time. A lot of the grocery stores carry them. We would purchase one every year until we adopted a cat - as they are toxic to cats.
I’m in Texas and we have them in stores at Christmas too and I’m in zone 9 on Gulf coast, very similar to Florida weather.

Red flowers are amaryllis. Whatever you do, don't cut one to put in a vase, it bleeds red dye on your table. So I leave them bloom where they are and enjoy them.
Those are some beautiful Amaryllis lilies. You can dig a few bulbs out of the ground and replant them in your yard. Every year the bulbs multiply so it's good to give them some room to expand. Love them. Gladiolus are beautiful too.
That this place has apparently not been inhabited for two years is not a good sign. Thank you for your boost in care for the owner and the neighborhood. Nice work on the fences, that helps with the neat look. The flowers may be Amaryllis. I was once told that if the bulbs are planted, that they can take two years to bloom.

The flowers are amaryllis. The flowers produce seeds which are about 1/4” in size and are paper thin. They grow slowly into bulbs. In my experience it takes several years for the bulb to grow large enough to produce flowers.

Awesome job as usual, wow what a overgrown area! Yes that spider is what we call daddy long legger, and the seed pod was that of a magnolia tree fruit pod, and that was a skull of a cat, poor thing. Your red flower is hard to tell at that distance, from the cameras point it looks like a type of lily, what kind of leaves does it have? To get a good flower id should be closer to camera but there s a app you can download to your phone for flowers, and one for leaves, and one foe mushrooms as well. Might be useful for you to download them to help your customers and I think they have one for bugs as well. oy I need that one too! lol.
I’m always impressed with the fact that you guys do such an amazing job on cleaning and mowing an overgrown yard. Usually you can tell if it’s a freshly mowed yard was overgrown before it’s mowed. Because of the amount of fresh cut grass all over the yard. But you guys do such a great job at cleaning up all of the cut grass, leave’s, and debris. You can’t even tell that the yard was a complete mess.
