I just found this song today and I think I already played it like 20 times. What a beautiful and uplifting song by one of the best musicians of all time. Thanks Eric!!

Absolutely one of your best ! If Venus Isle gets a remaster this should be on it. Absolutely should be on that album !
Constantly playing this as it blooms with each listen. This should be on all radio stations not the garbage that is pushed.
“It blooms with each listen” is so true, 2 years later and I still listen to this multiple times a day. Most songs would get incredibly annoying at that rate 😂 but this is MAGICAL
After direct messaging Tommy Taylor asking about this song, here’s what I received:
“I see you followed the FB page! Thanks! I tell the story of the song there. There is quite a bit of stuff from that pre Venus Isle era on his new record. He unearthed about 17 tracks that we had demo'd up in one form or another and worked with a lot of them after the fact recently to make a kind of release, also with some new stuff. Love Will Never Say Goodbye got shelved mainly because of the his issue with the latency on the sound of the synthesizer making it hard for him to play the parts in time well enough to suit him. We got very bogged down making that record. It was supposed to be a double lp at the time. I think there are a lot of regrets about some of the rabbit holes that he went down trying to make perfection. I really though Love Will Never Say Goodbye was a very strong pop-rock single. Another level for us as a band and personally I lean toward the more produced vocal side of things rather than the guitar instrumentals. We just never revisited the song as he was having a difficult enough time just finishing up what you hear on the album.
Sadly none of that stuff was transferred to computer and the multi track masters are in a state where it would be expensive and difficult to really go back in and mess with them. This was an existing mix that he put guitar fills on. You can do things like that but the more you do the more the original instrumentation gets covered up.”
I had visions of Venus Isle listening to this. I wish everything had fallen into place for VI because it's really an epic journey for the listener...just sorry it turned into somewhat of a headache for the group but damn, I still think it's his and the band's best work! Jus' saying.

In the classic style of the famous Eric Johnson hit Manhattan he takes another look at that style of music making and literally hits it out of the park. This is the difference between Eric and Vai, Satch and all those other hero guitar players none of them have the style and Soul he has.
The very 1st time I saw Eric perform was in 1986 and a small club in San Diego and on the ticket and the marquis all it said was Steve Morse. Steve open the show with what he called rod in the Box he had Morganstein's drums on digital tape and totally jammed out to some solo stuff and solo stuff by himself and then Eric joined him for the 2nd set and they played incredible songs like freeway jam a jam purple haze you name it. Eric made such an impression on me that night that I've followed him ever since and I thoroughly enjoy His style of sound he wrohe really knows how to get it done Bravo Eric!
This keyboard tone reminded me a lot of Shaw Lane's album "the power of ten"... just wonderful...

Beautiful piece, Eric! I've always loved these "pop" pieces from you. And this reminds me, I remember in Guitar Player Magazine (or one of these guitar-oriented magazines) when an interviewer asked Eric "Why do you keep writing pop songs when you know there's no chance of them getting airplay?" (or something to this effect as I'm paraphrasing here) and Eric replied "Because they're a part of me and I love them." Great answer to a question that I felt was completely unnecessary and actually kind of rude. It's as if the interviewer doesn't understand an artist's need to grow and find new creative avenues of expression.
This is another of Eric's songs that I wish I'd written... it's just so good! I absolutely love his melodic pop sensibilities.
Wow his voice pleasantly reminds me of Don Henley on The Boys Of Summer. This is such a refreshing song!

I had heard a long time ago about some demos from the Venus Isle album. I had quickly heard this song before somewhere years ago and then Eric releases this guitar-upgraded version. Eric you have a blessing from God in your life: the gift of music. I got goosebumps listening to "Love Will Never Say Goodbye". Indescribable good music

@@jhendrixrush I think I heard it on RUclips a few years ago, but the video disappeared from the internet and I had the melody of this song in my head hoping to be released on an album and now it's there. Awesome music man, in the style of my favorite album: Venus Isle, which is a masterpiece for anyone who is an audiophile. EJ is a genius!
@@deyvidsaid4649 my favorite EJ album as well!! From what I’ve heard, there’s a lot that went unreleased from that album. When I met Tom Bretchlein back in 2019, he talked about how he played on “12 to 12 Vibe,” which was supposedly originally recorded in 1995 or 96. If I recall correctly, he played on 8 other songs with Eric, with only a couple (two?) of them getting released down the road with different drummers. He mentioned that not one of those was put on Venus Isle, though a lot of them sounded like the way that album finished.
@@jhendrixrush Very interesting report. Perhaps the Venus Isle album was initially designed to be a double CD album. I read on the Guitar World website that except for Eric there are 7 bonus songs that will be available soon. Then we met several songs that were not released.

Amazing! Getting some serious "Venus Isle" vibes from this track, and I love it! I am so happy to see that he's taken stock of his newer/older work plus associated musical mannerisms and fused the best parts of it all together to create this astonishing piece of music. That Marshall lead tone is to die for, and the phrasing is impeccable. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album! :) If only someone could invent a time machine and prevent you from selling that 150-watt Steel String Singer, then we'd really be cooking with gas :p
