Dual forms with builder gel??!!! This is brilliant!!! Thank you for the tutorial!!! Just change my life, why dontcha!
I really like the idea of doing the first layer half way up your nail then the second from the cuticle.. Great idea to strengthen the nail...
I'm going to try this bit using tips.. first time.
How did it turn out? I realize it's been awhile since you posted this comment
Fr how did it go?
i like this girl she is informative and professional I can listen to her without irritation thank you
I have been doing gel tips on my hands for months. My non dominant hand is always LESS beautiful. This is perfect for me. I have so much gel product I'm glad I can use my regular gel builder on these dual forms. Thank you
Actually, the best tutorial I've seen on nail forms...excellent job.
You're a GREAT instructor! I'm one who always wants to know, "but WHY?" and you answer all those questions! Thanks!
Ah, me too! And how many times I've completely muffed something up doing it my own way, because I wasn't told the 'because' in the first place. That really is the mark of a good teacher--someone who answers the 'whys' before we have to ask. :)

I just got into doing polygel/builder gel nails and this is a *lifesaver!* 💜
This method using builder gel with dual forms is fantastic! I never knew i could do this
You are such a great instructor, I can’t even count how many times I’ve rewatched this video (just due to my nerves before I try for the first time lol) -- but I definitely feel more comfortable because of how much you explained in detail and answered all questions I was wondering about as well!!! Thank you for the suggestions of what to purchase, I just bought the clips! This is the best video on RUclips for diy builder gel + nail forms!!! :)
DAMN IT! Well you are just so Smart! Thank you so very much for sharing your wonderful talent! I have been doing nails for over 30 years and would never have thought of using those dual forms like that. I Thank The Almighty Father for people like you in this World, so smart with talent and always a help!
💜Great technique❣️ I’ve seen video after video from different RUclips channels and you’re the 1st one to use your technique with the forms to strengthen the stress point of the natural nail. Thank you 🙏🏽
I was going to say the same thing. The directions with the box and every other youtuber only do one later but i couldn't for the life of me get it to stop flooding under my natural nail at the tip of my finger. I was throwing in the towel and happened to heat this one keep playing as i was cleaning up and it just recharged my energy and drive to give gel a chance. Fingers crossed this technique saves the day for me!!
Well done!! Seriously, I watch tons of videos and you applied them seamlessly and smoothly, while giving great instructions. You're a step above the rest!!
I cannot get over how gorgeous your nails look!!
Do you have a review video on your nail drill? If not, can you please make one? Out of all the “nail tech” RUclipsrs I’ve seen, I trust your judgement the most! You don’t seem bias at all and I look forward to watching your videos :)
Beautiful, thanks for info on different forms. Money can be an option and you just helped us decide which forms to buy, hate getting things I don’t enjoy when I could have spent it elsewhere,
Ur tutorial by far is the very best instructions on how 2use builder gel properly w/d forms n..I’ve been viewing many videos on how to learn how to use the poppit forms n builder gel properly..thank u soooo much from a new Sub.. Oh BTW..I love ur smart&calm sounding “teacher” voice😊
I have to say I am so excited to run across this video. I have watched thousands of videos over the years and I've never seen quite this process of doing the dual layers with the builder gel and this is exactly what I needed to see as I'm growing out my own nails while keeping them Secured with product. Absolutely love this and I am going to do this process in the near future. Subscribed!
Brilliant! You can teach an old girl new tricks. Thank you. 😁
This is what i call informative videos!*****
This video covers so many questions, very informative, thank you sooo much. Your nails look amazing
thank you for this upload
Excellent job!!!
This is a nice informative video on how to apply Builder gel nails properly! You have Lovely nails! They look so clean , healthy & long!
What a great instructional video I have subscribed because of your professional instructions.
You do such a great job! Your nails look great and super natural!
Thank you for this. I was curious about using builder gel with dual forms, but Ididn't know if it would work. i thought the forms might not pop off correctly. I appreciate your time.
Thank you for showing how to use forms, I planned on forming them freehand but this will be better for first attempt.
I have a couple boxes of dual forms that I got from Sally's, the ASP brand. I've used them with acrylic before, now I'll have to give them a try with gel the next time I take off my builder gel. Great video! You make it look so easy!
Beautiful, missed watching your videos 👍👏💜
Why the hell aren’t you reading the news ? You have THE BEST voice !!! And your nails are amazing too ! 😂😂 love from Australia 🇦🇺 subscribed !!
This is the best explained and show video ever thank yoy
I free-handed mine and fine tuned with the drill. Gotta get some of these forms....much easier!
Your a natural at your art. I've always struggled with correct apex strength. This is a great video. Thumbs up!
P e r f e c t video. Thank you!
I've never used gel before and now you've convinced me to buy some to try this. It looks tricky at first but I like a challenge 👍 TFS
Beautiful nails!
Thanks for explaining the top coat abt wipe/no wipe.
Super video, clear and understandable explanation. Thanks 🙌🏾
Absolutely brilliant tutorial thankyou. ❤
This video is so interesting I see that you have a lot of practice! Your nails are just perfect et healthy. I take care of my natural nails they are always painted but quite short i have a horse and horse and barn are a rude environment for nails that’s why that kind of process would be helpful to protect my nails but.... it seems a bit tricky for me.
Thank you 🎉. I finally got it right after seeing this video
Nice job and good view from your camera. Really good idea for strength. Thank you for showing.
I loved that video and all the detail I have never put on fake nails so it made me think I could possibly do it thanks 😊
Very nice and natural! 🥰👌
Fantastic Tutorial!!! I am looking to add an overlay/tiny extention and you gave such good pointers!! Thank you soo much for this video!!
These are absolutely gorgeous.
I love your channel!! I just recently found it, and I bought the items I need to do they polygel nails with forms. Ill be interested to try and see how i do LOL im sure it takes practice!
This is hard gel not polygel. Not sure if you realize that
Yout nails look so good&strong. Ive been wanting to try those forms for a while now. Gotta order some soon. TFS!
Love your video. .. one of the first that gets to the point nice and clear instructions. Very nicely done
I was actually thinking of trying this myself. You’re nails came out great as usual.
This was super helpful. Thank you so much
Amazing! This will help me so much with how my some of my nails are curved down and c curve so bad. Hard to fill in that space
I really like your style!
Ahhhhh amazing tip! Can't wait to try this with my dual forms! Should save me so much time in the salon! Thank you
Great idea 😍
Very natural, great job
Great instruction and to the point!
That was awesome!
I wonder if it would be better to just do the cuticle area by hand and put the gel on the second application only in the middle and edge?
Thank you so much! I'm looking forward to doing my own nails & then possibly my daughters. The last time I did mine & hers was in '97 with acrylics. Oh boy was I exhausted when done. I had do buff nearly half of the product off to get a natural look & shape! I did my daughter, her friend & mine! It was my first time, but after many hours they actually looked pretty good. And I'm not one for boasting in myself. The girls had a dance & were so excited!
I do have a question though. After getting the length I want, I want to add color. Silly question, but do I use the primer next then color then the top coat?
Thank you for your time & going at a pace that was perfect.
God Bless you!
Betty
Super Helpful 💚💚💚
Good idea and very clear instruction.tq👍👌
Great tutorial 👍🌟
Instead of changing to a polygel, when working with builder gel, u can add acrylic and mix it in with the builder gel u add to the dual form. The dual form wont slide
gospelevans that’s what polygel is a gel and acrylic mix
This was helpful. Tfs
Great instructions..the best by far..U must b a “teacher “as ur profession😊 if not..u wld make a great teacher at anything u love to teach😊
am curious about doing acrylic nails different from how they are done by step by step. Yes, it is true that they do not last since they always say to remove the shine from the nails, so that way they last much longer. Now when I do it, of course, I will let you know just as Well, if it's a myth, it's actually that you have to do that step because the truth is, I think it takes away the strength of your nails.I'll give you my results for sure because curiosity killed the cat and I'm really curious.
I love your video, I was unsure of whether or not , the builder gel will work with the dual form nails. Thank you !
How come many salons don’t know how to do this or know wth im talking about?!😭😭
Because they dont want to take the time to learn a new product. A lot of nail tech only specialize in one product. Its easier to find a tech that specializes in hard gel.
They know they just rather damage ur nails with a drill acrylic. This is definitely a better option for strengthening natural nails
Probably because it takes a little longer and most salons are interested in getting you in and out as fast as possible.
It can be on the more unknown for most at nail salons... It can be a number of reasons but it could also be more expensive than acrylic.. like to get the supplies and to find a tech that knows how to use this medium
Sally’s..
I've never done builder gel before and have some coming my way in the mail soon. This video was super informative. I can't use a nail file as I can't stand the sound or touching it. What kind of clippers did you use to trim your nails?
I always hated the rubbery feel of no wipe top coats too! Lately I've tried Luxa Shine though, and I've found it cures nice and smooth and slick. So maybe give that a try.
Thank you so much you’re a lifesaver 🙏😅
The only video I need! Thank you! I'm a little unsure about the forms because my nails are already curved. Do you think this leaves room for enough product without ending up with talons? 😫
I need to see how you shape your nails! I've been wanting to do my nails coffin/ballerina shape and i can't get it right!
Alexis Solomon I have the same problem! I love the look of ballerina nails. I binge photos of them on Pinterest and Instagram. I feel like I can never get mine right. I am glad you could at least tell what look I was going for.
If you are watching this and find that final press under the light has air pockets on the nail bed, try practicing your technique using a drop of hand sanitizer in the form over the bare nail rather than gel. You find out where the pressure points are to release bubbles with way less sticky mess.
Your natural nails look so healthy. Is it because you don't use acrylic? And do you have a natural nail care video?
A J yes I do, here is a link for it ruclips.net/video/cxsZWJLx01Q/видео.html
Moonlit and Polished thank you 😃
So since you used the orly easy off base coat can you soak the nails off?? How would you remove these nails??
What dual forms are the flattest and straightest? My nail beds are rather flat, and the nail forms I have tried have too much of a c curve so they don't fit right, and also make too much of an arch. I like my nails to look as straight-out as possible, I don't like the arch bump to be too high, and I don't like the nails to curve in like bird claws. Before I go spending more money on several different types of nail forms, it would be helpful to know what brands might suit my need.
Also a rounded end instead of the usual squarish shape would be great. I have very round/oval cuticles, and I always have to spend a lot of time reshaping The nail form or else the square corners hit the sidewall / cuticle area of the skin. But then changing to another size doesn't cover the nail bed.
I know what you mean. I had a similar issue finding forms that fit me. Here is a link some forms I think may fit. The pictures make them look m ore curved than they are. I hope this helps you. If you don't like them they are easily returnable and affordable. www.amazon.com/Makartt-140PCs-Polygel-Acrylic-System/dp/B079QKP2JR/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=dual%2Bnail%2Bforms&qid=1554078023&s=gateway&sr=8-6&th=1
Nice but in other words, how many coats did you do with the dual forms lease? I got a bit lost and the camera was far too near the nails.
Merci beaucoup 😊
When I tried to do this with regular hard gel, the pop it just lifted off my nail and slid around. I don't understand what I did wrong. It didn't work at all with my regular gel using the pop its. 🤔😭 Do you have a link for those nail clips? That is what I need. 😁 💜
I love this technique! but it does take some practice. How long will these nails hold? And will they not break or come off fast?
Great video. Where did you get the nail "clips" you used in the video to hold the nail down to prevent popping up?
ebay has a ton of them for 99¢
I am email tech and if you have a small flashlight that has UV curable you can hold your finger under it while holding the dual form with your other hand to keep the air bubbles from coming out
Why doesn’t my pop it stick to my natural nail?
super, thanks
I’ve been trying to do my nails with the dual forms, but they always end up lifting / not sticking to my nail prior to curing. I feel like I’ve been doing something wrong - definitely will try your technique. Hopefully I won’t make a mess again...! Hahahhaha
Léa Saint-laurent I have the same problem! have you found a way to fix it?
@@pixelpeach193 not really :-( might just be the gel type that sucks
I think the links in the description are mixed up??
Why aren’t you using a thicker builder gel? THAT one is way too thin for my personal liking. Too thin = less control IMO……love to know why u prefer the thinner builder gel though as maybe im missing something? Highly likely lol!
I enjoyed your honest opinions as I'm facing exactly the same with poly & drippy cheap hard gels. Pls advice a better brand!
Hey, I am glad you found my video useful. Here are the builder gel and poly gel that I use now.
I use the Madam Glam Builder in a bottle (Clear) $20: www.madamglam.com/collections/base-top-remover-builders/products/builder-pure-serenity
I used the makartt polygel (clear and natural pink) $16.99: www.amazon.com/Makartt-1-76oz-Polygel-Enhancement-Extension/dp/B07DLT89HY/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=gelike+polygel&qid=1588434592&sr=8-1
How do you get the nail to stay down? Mine pop up? I use Orly builder in a bottle
Hi. I love all the direction and shots and angles you give us. I've added pretty much everything or have similar at home but I'm in love with your nail shape.
My one question is which of the 3 forms in the description do you use here? I heard you say you like those because of the natural shape it gives, which I absolutely love. I just want the right nail forms.
Hi 🙋🏻♀️ here is a link to the nail forms I like. The link attached to this video for them is old. In hope this helps: 240PCS/Case Dual Forms Nail Mold for Poly Gel UV Gel 12 Size with Scale www.amazon.com/dp/B07G75G6P4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_575BAYGPN47VAXEDDAGW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
When you apply the second coat do you use a larger form or the same one?
Will this make my natural nails stronger or be week when take off
Your nails will always feel weaker because any product is much stronger and break resistant. If you want to have strong natural nails then you are looking for maybe some vitamins and things like daddi oil, ibx etc
@@xxSydneyFox thank you
I did the prep and I added the nail builder into the nail extension and put it on my nail and the nail doesn't stay on. It won't stick to my nail. How do I get the mold to stay put long enough for it to set up so I can put it under the lamp
So I tried this and got a gap under my nail and gel how do I avoid that
Great tutorial. Do u know if I can use rubber base gel vs builder gel because I’ve heard rubberbase is better for growing your own nails out. Thank you.
Please lindfree wipes with the little holes..??
I see that you aren't putting them under a lamp. Is it unnecessary? Great video by way💕
I do put them under a lamp to cure. I mentioned that it was hard to film under the lamp because it’s a big and hard to get under that camera.
@@MoonlitandPolished I rewatched it. You're right, you did. 💜
Love your videos and your sense of humor! Are you now using poly gel instead of builder gel? Is it a cost thing or just an easier product to work with?
Keep the information coming.
SK brodak thank you 😊 I use Polygel now when I want a nail overlay or if I want to extend my nails. It’s now a cost thing. I honestly prefer the workability of Polygel so much more than regular builder gel.
What’s the difference between BG and PG?
