Anita, I am so happy that I found you! You are an awesome instructor. I am retired, but when I was married, I sewed for my son, two daughters, my husband, and me. After twenty-five years, I found myself divorced, and went to work. It was hard to find the time to sew, as I worked six days a week for the next twenty years. I have now been retired for eleven years, and decided to start over. At seventy-three years young, I am brushing up on my rusty skills. I look forward to watching all of your videos. Thanks.
Anita I can’t tell how delighted I am to have come across this tutorial! There was a wonderful woman who lived in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area years ago that made a HUGE IMPACT on my life. You look and sound just like her. And her name was Anita too, wow! I had a difficult childhood and she worked at a group home as a counselor where I lived for a time. She was so sweet and kind and brought me to her church. Showed me and some crafting projects and basically she helped us feel better about ourselves. If you are her, I am thrilled to be learning from you again 😁. And if you’re not her, well thank you for waking up some great memories! And I will be looking for more of your videos 🦋
Oh my goodness, Tammy! It sounds like your Anita was a wonderful support in your life. It's not me but I'm very happy to meet you and have you here on the RUclips channel. 💕💕💕
This is the first Anita tutorial I have watched and it won’t be my last. I’m tearing up because it feels like my Mom is right here too. She loved to sew. ❤ And now I’m sewing for my granddaughters!
Guess I'm going to go get the pajama pattern now! I still need to finish 6920. I'm half way! Your videos are the easiest to follow along with. Thank you for making them!
Thank you for this lovely tutorial ! Your calm voice and instructions are clear and easy to follow ! I am a sem retired seastress and found it relaxing to see others work !!! Good day to you !
I am so glad that I found your channel you are a wonderful, paciente teacher, love your tone of voice. I have seen so many tutorials were people don’t speak at all just music and you miss a lot of information. A good teacher is not someone who knows the trade well, but who can conveyed the skills she knows, you’re one good teacher. Thank you for sharing.
This pajamas pattern is so nice and is sewn quickly. Great for gifts. My sister loves the set I made just for her. Anita: If only I had patience enough to press my seams like you do, my garments would be so much nicer. Thank you for all your wonderful teaching. ~ L
Hi Anita. I haven’t sewn garments in years. I started making quilts because they fit me better! My older body doesn’t fit very many patterns anymore, however this tutorial is inspiring and more than likely can fit me if it comes in a plus size. Thank you so much for your detailed and informative videos.
I like the way you explain how to sew. You’re an excellent teacher. Love the fabric choice 🤩. Thanks for sharing the pattern number. Thanks. God’s bless you always!😃
You stabilized the shoulders on the back piece, but not the front piece of the PJ top. Why not both? Also, your teaching is so professional, Anita. It's a pleasure to learn from your videos.
Hi Helen! It's not necessary to stabilize both. Stitching through the stay tape (our whichever stabilizer you choose) will prevent the fabric from stretching. Also, you don't want the stabilizer to show. That's why I attach it to the back and press the seam to the back to hide it. I hope that answers your question. Thank you so much for watching my videos. I'm very happy to hear that you find them helpful.
Can’t thank you enough for this video Anita. Made two pants previously with many issues lining up the crotch section. Your clear detailed instructions to line up the back and front clarified where I was making the mistake of making two exact same legs. It should of been one reversed to the other. Now notches and button holes match perfectly to sew. Wife loves when I make her these bottoms but in white linen cloth for bathing suit cover up with the hem just over her ankles. Happy wife happy life 😊
Oh my goodness! I love that you make clothes for your wife. Thank you for sharing that with me. I'm so happy that the video helped you solve the issue. Happy Sewing! 🤗
@@AnitabyDesign I love how interactive you are with your viewers. You really do read the comments and respond. I am below a beginner's level. I am new to sewing using a pattern. I have patterns but have yet to use them. Thank you for your step by step instructions. I especially like your trick for making the pajama bottoms by stuffing a leg right side out in the wrong side out leg and stitching them together that way. Amazing! I think Im am now ready to try using a pattern. Thanks Again.
Anita, you are an amazing teacher. I’ve been sewing for years and did not how to do some things you explained. I will be following along on each new video. Thank you so much.
This pattern really spoke to me. The older I get the more I value comfy pajamas. I couldn't find this pattern but found another one and bought some soft knit fabric a couple of weeks ago. I used many of the tips in this video to construct my new pajamas and they are just about finished. I plan on wearing them tomorrow night -- I can't wait to go to bed!!
These sew alongs are very helpful. I just picked this pattern up today for 50 cents that was never used, and a soft sage green linen sheet set for $2.50. I have an older baby lock Esantra thats done me proud for a decades. Best investment I ever made, still to this day. I'm pretty excited for this project so I'll be saving this video.

What brand of thread do you use for your Serger? I am back now, after deviating to other channels. Really, you are the best. I don’t think I’ll stray again.
I just laughed about your straying. LOL! I use the thread cones from JoAnn's. I've been using Maxilock Cone Serger Thread from my local Joann Fabrics.
I wish to see how the pattern of the pants is cut please. Thank you
Anita, thank you for another great tutorial. All I need is fabric and I am ready to sew me some PJ's. Stay blessed.
Yaaaayyy! Have fun sewing your pajamas, Trish! 🤗
