He is far from YT top dogs still, but the very idea that you are comparing him, a single YT creator that's reviewing relatively niche and old games to a major company is a testament to that. Also he is still growing and his videos are not HotM type, so they'll get more views even if they are old. He is in a pretty good spot.

Yep. Developers have droped the ball on that matter. I usually play the lego games in coop with my fiancé. Those and Portal 2, which is awesome.

@@bionicdragon5 Halo 3, Gears of War series, Battlefronts 1 & 2, and the Call of Duty series spring to mind in that regard. Plus there was a few CoOp shooters as well, with games like Army of Two, and Gears of War, these were the games my family and I played for years.
Those were all almost 20 years ago. Now, there's almost no CoOp or local multiplayer games that are serious and skill based now. Halo we never really kept up with, but I heard it cut CoOp out in some way later on plus possibly downgraded in quality, GOW we lost interest in around Judgement because we played the absolute SHIT out of that Series for 5ish years, but we don't own an XB1 so we couldn't keep up with it or Halo. Army of Two was also good but was abandoned after Devil's Cartel which was a bad note to end on, as it felt like an overall downgrade from the second game. Borderlands is something almost nobody is interested in after we tried out 2 for a while. Fighting games we'd play on and off but never really got into.
.....annnnnd so after all these games were either played the shit out of, discarded, or continued on while we couldn't keep up with them due to them moving to "next"gen, there hasn't been any new games to take their place, or they COULD take their place if they actually had local CoOp implemented. I've lost track of the amount of Co-Op games that we'd be all over if it had Local CoOp instead of Online only.
What the FUCK is wrong with developers today?!! Have none of them ever had friends or family they loved playing with on the couch on one screen before and thought "yeah I'd love to play this game with them in an easy fashion, and give millions of families the same experience with their loved ones too". Do people just not physically play together anymore and I just don't know it? WHY HAS SUCH AN AWESOME FEATURE BEEN LEFT BEHIND ON WHAT'S SUPPOSED TO BE AN UPGRADED EXPERIENCE WITH NEXT GEN CONSOLES?!!
Hopefully, Ps5 and XBS remember people have friends and family they love playing with and start cranking out games that have Local CoOp that rival the experiences we had almost 20 FUCKING YEARS AGO!

This review was very thoughtful and in-depth. It really really made me want to play Company of Heroes again.

The plant tents are a very good investment. They're relatively cheap, they're permanent, and unlike most(all?) other tents, they feed and hydrate you when you sleep in them. If you don't care for the buffs the inns give you for sleeping in them, you'll save money in the long run by placing plant tents in every town and using them instead of the inns.

As someone dating a French Canadian who escaped the Quebecois wastes. I can confirm that their food, when cooked correctly by a trained professional, gives you stat boosts.
Its only a wasteland 6 months during the winter when it goes down to -40c

Parsec brings local co op to life
This game was so much fun with 2 player online co-op.
My friend and I literally almost 100% only one story line and it took us a ridiculous amount of time. There's a shit ton of content but most of it is optional. Even just clearing the very first map took us like 2 weeks.
Each dungeon is a lot of running, screaming, sleeping just a few feet away from a horde of walking mushrooms, eating radioactive yellow sludge pasted onto some toast, and luring enemies into some OP as fuck traps that have titanium spikes tipped with chloroform.
I absolutely loved this game so much, the extreme difficulty made it a lot of fun. Some of the "side quests" (which are really just situations you run into) are hilarious, too.
"Oh, it's the middle of a Russian winter outside. Come, stay in our castle for a few days while it calms down. Just make sure to leave your weapons and armor here, it's against etiquette to bring them inside."
"Good, now that you're defenseless and have no way of protecting yourself, meet our 8 guards who will kindly beat your ass and steal everything you own."
Although this comment is getting a bit long, I really do have to praise how good the 2 player co-op is. You can both combo spells off of each other, share items, duplicate items on accident (uh oh), and feed each other literal cyanide.
It's so funny when we had cleared an area and felt super strong, only to go into some mages tower and fight the incarnation of lightning who teleported behind us and fucking instantly clapped us. Then, it turns out that although we lived, we had permanently released this spirit into the world and if we ever went back into the tower we would get instantly clapped again.
Anyway I argue that this is one of the best games to come out in the last 6 or so years 10/10

My girlfriend and I were playing and in one of our early deaths we respawned inside the Royal Manticore Lair. We had no idea how to get out, we just kept dying over and over again. I think we spent 3 hours learning how to fight the damn thing. It was truly an experience having it rush at us out of the darkness.
"I spend much of my youth holding down the shift key..." omg. I'm wiping away tears. I gave up on melee combat and built that 8 pistol cheese build geared with all the speed increasing gear I could find. I run around like the Roadrunner and shoot everything like Yosemite Sam.

This video actually misled me in a very strange way. namely, I wanted to play a mage but put it off because I thought the fire stone required to create a sigil of fire was very expensive, per his description of it. I eventually decided to use magic while playing with a friend only to find out that you make a fire stone with a mana crystal and oil, both of which can be bought for relatively cheap, and are both fairly easy to find out in the world as well. Seth has made a fool of me, and I love him for it.
He is kinda right though. Beating the shit outta something is free and compared to it spending 10-20 silver on a moderately strong enemy is quite expensive.
@@ozanberk3652 the secret is to buy the ingredients for a potion, then sell the crafted potion back for more than the ingredients cost.

I played this game when it first came out. I hate being inconvenienced. And this game puts you in a position where you're constantly being inconvenienced. And I enjoyed every minute of it. Truly a great game from a small team of people.

That ending was beautiful. It was a recent release yet I am getting nostalgic from the music and long fucking treks back to a town. Months were spent in dungeons trying to kill that one boss only to realise that tripwires are actually ancient godly deities that smite anything in your way
There is a speed cheat in game. Name your character “Code Sonic” and you can run really fast, you can even do the spin move. A few equipment pieces speed up movement and reduce stamina cost too but it’s still a lot of walking.

That feeling when you already had the game to do coop with a friend, learning that turnips and star mushrooms with water made 3 mana potions that sell for more silver even when the ingredients are bought. Similarly knowing that blood mushrooms and rock beetles with water make 3 health potions. All to become merchant lords by buying oil to mix with water and make fire resist potions for even more sweet sweet cash.
My friend and I spent waaay too much time making mana potions...

Two things you can easily grow in such trying times : rabbits and rats.Both grow fast,are low maintenance and can live off whatever scraps are available.

That spawn mechanic kinda killed the game for me. You die - you spawn on a random spot in the map you've never been to and have no idea how to get back.
Maybe later into the game you can recognise the locations but in the beginning a single knockdown puts you into a neverending respawn cycle.
@@Bullshitvol2 the map has fixed orientation so the top (12 o'clock) is always north. You can just follow a direction until you hit the edge or find what you're looking for

Found this video after beating the story with one of the factions. I really like a lot of aspects of the game, the travel included though I wear a lot of speed boosting gear, the defeat scenarios feel like a great way to give fights risk without it just being a perma death game, and it's a nice balance between adventure and survival, wish it was longer and had more places though (base game). I really loved how I started off going to the swamp and reconsidering the idea of joining the holy mission because of the swamp, to feeling confident with two revolvers and a halberd in any area.
The music is great too.
I actually DID try it for myself at my "friends house"... then i went and bought the game because it was real good. if they added more rpg/quest/interaction content it would be a 10/10
The idea of Seth DMing a game of F.A.T.A.L. for Mandalore fills my heart with warmth and joy.

Recently bought the game and started playing with a friend. We're almost 30 hours into it and we're having a blast.

There’s gonna be a lot of trial and errors and the moment you decide to enable one mod in the wrong sequence you might end up crashing your game and by that I mean black textures and what not. The time and effort it will take to get it right will be longer than the time it takes to beat this game holding down shift key
