  • Pickled Garlic is so easy to make. Especially when you can buy peeled garlic. This is one of my daughter’s favorite things I make.
    Brine Recipe:
    8 cups vinegar
    8 cups water
    8 tsp salt
    8 tsp sugar

The National Center for Home Food Preservation is a wonderful resource. I check this site every time I can anything. I am not affiliated with them, but they are a free resource that I recommend.

I will most certainly give this one a go. Today, however, I am canning homemade corned beef hash and Italian sausage links. Wonderful video again. God Bless and keep you and your family.

Thank you! I grow my garlic it lasts almost a year fresh. When it draws close to the next harvest, pickling the previous years older garlic will be a great option. Up till now I've frozen it which works great, but I have limited space in my freezer and would love to free up space by canning garlic instead.

I’ve read in some other recipes that the fresh garlic is supposed to be blanched prior to jarring … also seen where the garlic is blanched right in the vinegar brine for 1 minute prior to jarring it … Is this necessary? Thankyou in advance for all your tips! Very clear and easy to understand

Why do you put sugar in it?

Also, can you clear me up with the recipies that do NOT add any type of ratio of water to the brine … they just use vinegar … why would that be please?

@jodifrezell3667 I'm not sure. The only recipe I have that only calls for vinegar is for bread and butter pickles, beyond that I don't know.
