    Thanks for a great tutorial on a fun looking project. Will use this as a guide in a small garage setting.

    Hi. Just done the same for our beach hut in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, UK. Used led strip lights, with their own on/off switch and also a dimmer as so bright in there! Used the house burglar alarm battery the guy replaced last year due to age and was gonna chuck but takes a charge fine. 9Ah. Think they use these batteries for m/cycles too. Got a cheap solar panel and controller for £18 and it does the trick. Great site ! Gonna be making the 14inch high xmas trees for Xmas this year.

    Looking for a setup that could also charge my tools rechargeable battery with the spare power from the panel
    Nice video 👍

      You would need a larger battery and controller. An inverter would be an option to charge your tools. It converts the dc to ac.

    Often thought about setting my garage up on solar maybe to run some lights as well as power tools and your video has prompted me to do so. Do solar company that you use have bigger units? Thanks, enjoyed your content.

      Yes. I used Renogy and they have bigger controllers and panels. Look into an inverter for charging your tools. It converts the DC to AC

    Question, you have brown and blue wires, which is positive and negative? I am doing something similar and would like to know before shorting anything out, thanks!

      With my lights the brown wire is negative. Not sure that translates to other lights however.

    I have no experience in doing electrics but need a light source for a shed I’ve just built and I don’t really want to go for an off the shelf sole shed light from a store as this options looks much more relatable and stable can you give me any advice regards your thoughts thanks so much for posting this great video

      I would suggest checking out other videos on the subject. It's not hard once you understand the concept and what components you'll need based on your particular situation.

      Thanks so much for your prompt reply it’s very much appreciated ! Can I ask is some of the lights attached to a system like this can have PIR sensors on them as I would place two lights inside a storage shed and maybe two or one in a wood store next to the shed. Thank you for your time kind regards paul

    • @RonniesWorkshop
      @RonniesWorkshop  6 месяцев назад +1

      Sure. The lights, with sensors or not, are connected to a battery. As long as the battery has power it will run the lights. The solar panel collects the energy from the sun, transfers that to the charge controller, the charge controllers determines how much, if any, power needs to go to the battery.
      That is a simplified explanation.

      The lights I used are ones I have had for years, stored away. You can search for them on Amazon for whatever wattage you need.
