I got you beat! The video has ended and I am still enjoying it! But other than that you translated my wow very well, so thank you for saving me the trouble - my words are still a bit in trance. I think I'll just replay the video. Have an awesome day! :D
I think it’s wonderful that many of those who view/subscribe to Charles’ channel are observant, knowledgeable, and appreciative. I hope his playing will inspire any musicians young enough to learn properly by the best tutor available and practice those thousands of hours Charles posted a video about a while back. Perhaps pure talent hasn’t been killed off by gimmicks afterall. Charles gives me hope for the future of music.
Came here to say exactly the same thing! After you've finished being impressed you can rewind, sit back, close your eyes, and just enjoy the music (... and the awesome power of BASS!)
I discovered you yesterday. It was a video of you doing a rendition of californiacation and can't stop by the Red Hot chili peppers. Today I took a deep dive into your content. I've been watching your videos for the last 2 hours. I even watched the story about you and all the work you put into playing the bass. It was the story of your growth. 1 minute ago and for a long time Flea was my favorite bass player of all time. You just took that spot. You are absolutely phenomenal, and I love your content. Thank you for the gift that you're sharing with all of us. Don't ever stop. 💯🔥
There's nobody who compares to you, you're the best bass player ever! Both in terms of technique, innovation and originality! Honestly, i really envy you. I've been playing the bass for 12 years, yet I'm not even close to your level... But your videos give me motivation to keep playing! So please, keeper doing what you do! You're literally inspiring millions of people!
You are one of, if not the best bass player in the world. I think this will become a more conventionally held opinion as you get a little bit older and as the frame of a RUclipsr-first fades. You have a perfect technique, you can play literally anything, you do play literally everything, and it's asinine how good your bass parts are whilst getting better from video to video.
That was fantastic. I'll bet this video will have excellent *_retention_* because I really wanted to hang in there for all 51 (guessing most viewers will do the same). Glad I did. Outstanding video, Charles.
Charles, as a Bassist I feel obligated to say that you are truly a master of your craft and are an inspiration to us all. The Bass community is lucky to have to you! You are practically the Ichika Nito of Bass RUclips!
This is literally and sincerely one of the greatest things I've ever heard. I watched your "White Christmas" and it made me tear up with that inexplicable emotion that only music can give you. AWESOME
Charles is out of this world. Love how you use all of those techniques and still play tasty and musically. Made me pick up my bass more frequently to learn some more styles
Charles bro you are sincerely one of the best to ever do it brotha....I cannot overstate how educational and inspiring this was. I've put over 15 years into the guitar, and Les Claypool recently inspired me to play bass, but you have really given something to strive towards, thankyou for your contribution to the world of music 🙏
Charles you actually performed 53 techniques in one bass composition! You left out Talkbox with octave pedal. You left out several times…multiple techniques combined with looping station. You’re growth as a performer and composer are spectacular. However, your growth as a RUclips creator has grown even more and much faster. I began watching your channel about 5 years ago. You posted videos without headphones on, playing many original and classical compositions in beautiful surroundings and had very few subscribers and views. This is what I mean about you RUclips skills compared to your amazing bass and keyboard skills which took a lifetime to learn and perfect. You manage to have found a happy medium now. Posting extremely creative videos without any loss of playing content. That is an accomplishment worthy of millions of subscribers! I’ll continue to watch as long as I continue to live. BTW, I’m 61 and have been a pro touring multi-instrumentalist from 1974 through 2016. A surgeon ended my career and got away with it. At my 100% best, I didn’t have the skills you possess even though I was one of the top touring and studio players in my 30s through 50s. Your music brings me joy! Thank you so much!!
I've never seen so much bass insanity within 2 minutes like this in my whole career, I mean I've seen Cliff shredding, Jason picking, Robert playing flamenco on bass, but not this insane 50 techniques on display for such a short piece. Would gladly fire Robert just in case you want to apply as our bass player.😆Rock On!🤟
I've come full circle! From disregarding you as a smirky jock to being way too jealous of your skills to watching very few "acceptable" videos in a loop to instaclicking every new video. Now this one is amazing and very funny AND such a good starting point to be creative with playstyles. Thank you Charles
I like them all! Gotta say the slappity slap was immediately such a jump in "oh yes this feels good!", but so many things after it were also great. The talkbox was a nice treat.

I like how he almost uses the bass how he's having a conversation back and forth with the bass and himself or at least is what it seems like too me he's doing very cool nice job Charles.
Dude, I seriously wish you could teach me those so I could get better and I wish you were my mentor, you've inspired me to still keep playing bass guitar and this video has given me more inspiration and courage to step up and combine singing and dancing with it, thanks and god bless you and continue to rock and roll
Ok I know some of these are made as jokes, but some others are pure magic. Like how does that even make a sound??? Great video Charles! Thanks for all the hard work. :)
Bloody hell... I am not sure if I am even qualified enough to be allowed to watch your videos. You are ACE! While using all those techniques, you are still musical. Totally mind blowing! Love it.
Charles, you are always an incredible bassist, it’s axiomatic; but the entertainment value that you are ever bringing to the table is what keeps me coming back for more. Like Pavlov’s dog, when your name comes across the RUclips screen my ears perk up in anticipation of having them, along with my face, melted off of my head from the sounds that I know I’m going to be treated to. 👍😎👍

You should play your guitar with him, do a collab... maybe make a song about Egg
My gosh the part at 1:11, I can't stop listening to this whole piece🔥🔥🔥
Same. Can someone recommend some music in the similar style?
That Flamenco at 1:35 was one of the coolest things I've ever heard on a bass. I NEED more bass Flamenco!
flamenco would sound even better with more strings!
Sounds like what you need is more Primus. And you can never have enough Primus
There's a part of The Lesson where Victor Wooten does it, which Charles does in his cover of it as well. :)
You should listen to some Robert Trujillo basslines he uses Flamenco style
Adam Ben Ezra - Flamenco, you're welcome ;)
