Great video, helped me work out what footswich I needed for my Roland 40XL
Been using mine as a tap tempo for my DD-7 for about 5 years now, and no problems. This thing is built like a tank.
These have been around since at least mid 90ies now! Unchanged!

I dont know why i have to push it twice for change???? why is not at the first tap like in this video????
Mu FS-7 was doing the same thing using it with the Boss Gt-1 and i switched it to momentary and it now works with one push
FS5U means U = unlatched
FS5L means L = Latched
That’s why you have to press it 2xs. On the L

The video they use the fs5-L to switch the sounds. Or change channels on an amp.
FS5-U is pressed to momentary of and on an effect.

I have the fs-5l footswitch and tried using just an ordinary guitar lead and found it wouldn't switch channel's, so I got a mono to trs cable and it worked. Later on I realised that the footswitch was changing from channel 1 bank A to channel 2 bank B. I then saw online in boss support about some update where you now have the option too use a ordinary guitar lead which will now switch between channel's in the one bank or a trs to switch between channel 1 bank A to channel 2 bank B. That's pretty frustrating. I went through a lot with the cable situation in the first place.
Great video. Could you help me? Is it possible to use two FS 5L with the Boss Katana 50? Is it going to work as the FS 6 (one changing the Bank and the other changing the Chanel)? Thank you.

HI! Thanks for the video! I would like to know which cable trs would you use to connect FS-6 to FS-5U. A was thinking about a Y cable but as far I want to use A&B on the F5-6 i'm not sure which TRS cable should i buy... It needs stereo cablenfor that pedal and mono for the other pedal.... I'm confused...

Greetings everyone! I have a Boss Katana 50w amp, and I want to get a pedal, that is good for switching between channels (my personal settings). Are those pedals can do that?
Yes, the Katana user manual says the BOSS FS-5L is the footswitch to use with the Katana 50. I use it with mine for channel switching.

@@adddddd1221 not in the manual anyway, this may however be to discourage 3rd party products. I heard the vox vfs channel pedal works fine with the katana as well.

The FS-5L is latched. It means it holds the signal when the switch is released, which has to be pressed again to turn off. Meanwhile, the FS-5U is unlatched, it holds the signal only while the switch is pressed down.

Hi everyone! I have Roland Cube 40XL and i'm curious about this footswitch. On the back side of the amp there are 3 inputs for footswitch. I have FS-6, but don't know how to connect it. Can someone explain me how to properly connect it to be able to change between JC Chours, Lead and Solo? Or there's more options? Like changing EFX on/off or more of this stuff? I appreciate every help! :)

Probably, but you would probably be happier with a latching footswitch.
Does the FS-5U also work on an older Cube 30 (not an XL)? Mine doesn't have that foot sw type switch on the back like in the video, it only has one input on the top with "tip select, ring efx". So do I need a 5U or 5L? I only need it for channel switching, not for effects.

Well since the new firmware update you want the FS-7 or FS-6 if you want to use batteries one switch changes banks and the other changes 1-2 or 3-4 within the a or b bank

The FS-6 takes batteries the FS-7 uses an ac adapter these are two button switches that change the bank with one switch and change the patches within the banks with the other when uses with the Boss Katana amps.

It doesn't require external power. Just plug in the quarter inch cable.

Honestly my farts sound better than this tone..
I'm sure he thinks so as well and normally plays a real amp, but being that he is a guitarist, he most likely thought of a practical application for the pedal within his own expertise. I will be using it behind the drum kit in conjunction with the SPD-SX to easily switch kits.
