Thank you for watching my interview! If you liked it, PLEASE SUBSCRIBE! I’m posting new celebrity interviews every week!
Jake, this is terrific, thank you so much. Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but is there a longer interview that you might post? Gotta imagine that, getting all four together, you must've spoken with them for more than 6 mins. ?? Sorry, I'm the kind of fan who has WONKA on my license plate! lol Thanks again.
RIP Denise Nickerson (Violet Beauregarde)
It’s heartbreaking to see four of them there
Yeah, Denise died from Life support taken off and Gene died from Alzheimers
I think that Denise Nickerson, as Violet Beauregarde, should be shown, in Memoriam!
@@scottketchie5703 who is denis
@@Alex-jp4ns Denise Nickerson played Violet. Nickerson passed on in 2019 from cancer
The original movie will live on forever . Just seeing the original cast brings back some great memories 🙂
It was originally intended as one long commercial for a Hershey-Bar-esque chocolate bar.
@@Angie2343 interesting , didn't know that . Either way it's a classic movie . I'm hoping the new one can capture the same magic ✨ happy holidays and a happy new year 🎊
@@josephclark4153 Same.
I felt the shade towards the Depp film looming in the background lol. I loved that version just as much personally. The marketing was AMAZING too.
The Johnny Depp movie was great, I hope the original cast can at least respect it for doing something different and not trying to replicate the original movie.
There was no shade stop trying to start something
@@vleaky3430 I don't think anyone's trying to start anything. Everyone is just making observations!! I love them all and honestly it's cool when a movie can be seen over and over and just all the different ways! As long as the heart is there and kids with a chocolate factory and chocolate maker, I love it!! I wish thet would make a trailer soon though of this new one!!
I really wonder if Gene Wilder was still alive if he’d give Timo his seal of approval
Unfortunately not, he died in 2016
@@flippaclipanimations1933 As was noted above!
🙄
I'm sure Gene Wilder would be very gracious and wish him well.
He would. I’m sure of it.
It's Gene's role practically. I think the movie is gonna be Timothée Chalamet's big debut movie as an actor going by his movies and shows he did. *not a huge lot* it shows this on wikia. Gene did not even see Depp's willy wonka because he felt Depp is a great actor but the role is not for him, he can do better. He has nothing personal against Depp.
Oh man…Peter STILL has that smile.
It's actually very cool seeing the actors from the 1971 film here, oh man they have grown up.
Everyone is being so "polite" but you can see it on their faces, the cowboy brat rolled his eyes lol
Rest in Peace Violet
Not gonna lie, I think Timothee did a good job now that the movie is out. I meant. It captures the spirit Gene Wilder pretty well
I disagree, he reminds me of Ben Stiller more than Wonka
Johnny played Willy Wonka, Johnny’s daughter Lily-Rose is dating Timotheé
She is not since a long time

Timeless film, timeless cast
I’m surprised they’re so positive about it...
Considering how scary the movie is.
Most of them didn't care for the Johnny Depp/Burton version... I don't blame them... but this new version might not be so bad, and at least it's a prequel instead of a straight up reboot/remake. Chalamet also seems like a better fit, and he'll apparently be singing musical numbers too like the original 1971 and not the dark dreary depressing parody that the 2005 reboot was... I hated that movie, damn you Burton!
@@samd2013 not scary ffs
@@TheConorsmithusa Oh yeah. If you really consider the subtext, it describes a terrifying nightmare we all are still living through without even knowing it. I can bet anyone that they don't know what the chocolate is worth let alone the factory and now maybe you have a hint of the story behind the lessons. I don't think the actors know or if they do; they aren't telling.
@@BigSplenda1885hate to break it too you BUT the 2005 film follows the original book MORE than the 1971 film in some ways. While I DO agree the 1971 film can’t be topped, the 2005 one did NOT get it wrong. Blame the books not Tim Burton. Also not even Dahl wasnt a huge fan of the 1971 film and he’s the author
I just seen the new trailer and I am so excited! I came across this interview while watching people reacting to the trailer and it is so true! Nothing will replace the original, but new versions are honestly just adding to the world and love for this story! My kids have only seen the Johnny Depp version and I am so excited to watch the original with them today to get ready for the movie in December (Right before my birthday!) so I am so excited! This interview is absolutely charming so thank you for this!
They look great! Peter Ostrum 40 years older than me and has the same amount of wrinkles 😅
Veruca looks great
They should of made Charlie all grown up in charge of the factory😊
A bit sad it won't be like th 2005 version and 1971 version :(
WHY DO THEY LOOK LIKE THEYVE GOTTEN YOUNGER SINCE FOUR YEARS AGO???
What a beautiful cast 😃
i honestly never thought of making a prequel... but seeing timothee playing it and even bts scenes that have leaked... im quite excited bout the story
Don't forget what happened to the man who got everything he ever wanted
He lived happily ever after🥲
He just got iindicted :)
@@totomarley1939Not Trump? Who?
The new "Wonka" was incredible! I loved it. The soundtrack has been stuck in my head since i saw it over two months ago in the theatre. the 1971 version is iconic and will always have a special place in my heart but this new Wonka film was so heartfelt that i love it just as much as the 1971 version and its a great companion piece to the 71 one. An instant classic❤
Good to see them still alive!
That is true! When you see one version you want to see all of them!
Denise Nickerson came back as a ghost to watch this with them. 🥲
That Bugs Life caterpillar guy pulls a real Debbie Downer right at the end! LOL
This comment has me cracking up
I love the original movie, my maternal grandmother's (late) maiden name was Golden, like the Ticket, Sweet!
Wonka should be a 2022 I can’t wait longer to watch it in 2023
It's that year now.
one of my favorite movie all time i still like to this time i very happy the new one will be out soon
You didn't put their names on the screen you monster. A very Wonka thing to do.
I will always cherish this movie. It is up there with The Wizard of Oz as one of the most culturally important and deeply subversive films ever made. The metaphors throughout are thick with detail and innuendo. Something like this will only ever be made by the skilled hands and talent of an independent story and production.
The candy is money, The factory is power. It should actually never be entrusted to anyone yet somehow for the time being we are getting away with crazy theorists marshalling the Oompaloompas printing whatever valuable chocolate they can so people can trade with it and prosper until it all melts in their tummies wondering what happened.
Hat's off to a truly wonderful and thoughtful show.
Cheers to you Jake. I know you can put their names on screen next time.
I lived in the town next to Peter in New York!!!! Couldn't believe he was there in his profession!!
Since it is a prequel to the 71 film, they should have the original cast cameo.
I love the old and the new Willy Wonka but not the newer Willy Wonka yet?
I love the original movie!
I wonder what Gene Wilder would say if he saw this.
Would have loved to have seen them made a cameo in the new film! 🍫🍫
The movie came to Eastfield Mall, Springfield, MA, Christmas season, 1973, I loved this movie, it was espcially scary on the big screen(2-sceen theater!)
This mall no longer exists, this is sad for me. I loved this movie, Ten years old at the time. Fifty-year crush on Wonka!
I had a crush on Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka!
Lol, me too
Me 3
You should interview the kids from the 2005 film!
That is sad they didn’t invite all the kids to the premier! Tacky :(
2:04, I agree with Mike on this
Its crazy how tyere are only four cast members left aside from a few of the kids who were extras in the candy store.
I thin Timothée will do a great job, because he really is a good actor but a new wonka film … I am a little bit scared maybe it will be too much Willy wonka, sometimes it’s better to don’t touch the classic.
Johnny Depp was already a modern version and it’s was amazing but if now we do something new about Willy Wonka it will maybe be too much.
I still want to see it because I am curious and we don’t know maybe it will be fantastic.
I am just scared because Timothée is a good actor who start to making a name and if the movie is bad because of the director maybe it will affect his career and it would be sad because he have so much potential to be really big as an actor.
I lowkey I feel there should be a cartoon for willy wonka. I always wonder how Charlie was able to handle the factory after the movie.
I understand how you feel but they said the director is Paul King and it’s produced by David heyman (who did the Harry Potter series) so that’s a pretty good sign right?
Later…
Charlie: wait a minute… if Wilbur Wonka appears, then I’m down for it!
Es bueno ver al elenco original de la película clásica. En mi opinión personal, la versión que más me gusta es la última de Paul King. Timothée Chalamet me parece un excelente Willy Wonka.
Also Peter Ostrum: because I won the factory
Trailer just out
WOW!! What a TREAT!!! I was at a huge comic book/media show and everyone was running around yelling, "I met Mike TV!!!" Out of all of the artists & celebrities who were there signing autographs, HE was THE ONE!!! Then I thought,.... "wait a minute. MIKE TV IS HERE!!!!!" You simply can NOT pass up an opportunity to meet a living legend from your childhood.
The actors who portrayed Veruca and Mike hosted a screening of the classic movie at Alamo Drafthouse in Yonkers, NY just north of NYC. Brought my little girl and we both had a blast. They gave out chocolates, had contests for the kids (which my little one won), and took pics. They discussed the making of the film and we had a blast.
I still love the original, like the re-make and now, the pre-quel!
Wait we forgot the girl from the movie ciolet what happend to her

@@plawson8577 what? Really? That's super young.
Wonka wasn’t horrible. I had low expectations and maybe that helped. The songs weren’t bad nor was Chalamet.
I dont care how close johnny Depps version got to the book, Mel's was a lot better, and he didnt want the oompa loompas too look like slaves back then. thats why he made them with orange skin and green hair. And the ending was a lot better, instead of grandpa Joe saying YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! lol
Dahl the ORIGINAL author wasn’t a huge fan of the 1971 film. No one film pleases everyone.
@@lessismore8533 Don't care what Roahl Dahl says lol
My 7 year old daughter hated the new Wonka she absolutely loves the original which I think it’s brilliant she knows the original is the absolute best
❤️
Nice to see Charlie, Peter Ostrum have a full head of hair, the way his hair looked as a kid, it looked like he would go bald by his twenties.
There is only one Willy Wonka and that is Gene Wilder!!!!! I HATE the Johnny Depp version. I will ALWAYS AND FOREVER LOVE the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory!!!!!
I’m so annoyed why are they always ruining good movies by making sequels
Gene Wilder WAS WILLY WONKA! I could not stand Depp as Wonka. Johnny Depp is a great actor, but I just did not like him as Wonka. I LOVED Chalamet as Wonka, I have seen it 6 times at the theater already 😊🍫 Chalamet seemed to be channeling Wilder! I loved it🍫🍫🍫
The movie is going to suck
Chalamet was a bad choice to play Wonka, it's totally the wrong fit, I don't know who these producers are that picked him but I doubt they are actually real Wonka fans!!
Prequel is bad. Seems like they based it on Charles Dickens instead of Roald Dahl. Just a boring class warfare story, where the poor people are good and the rich people are bad. Timothee was bland and flat as Wonka, and the songs were supremely generic, boring, bland and unmemorable. The only time the movie was entertaining was when they brought on the Oompa Loompa or sang the original songs. None of their new ideas worked, just the close references to the original movie.
Deluded
the only thing that looke charles dickens to me was the top hats and the outfits
The new 2005 one is rubbish compared to the original. Wilder suited the character of Wonka better, played Wonka better, the direction was better, and the writing and cinematography were better. For me it's very similar to the remake of Murder on the Orient Express (1978), which also happened to feature Depp, funnily enough. The original Murder on the Orient Express, the 1978 one: it's about 100 times better.
Paul King is an interesting choice for directing the 2023 "Wonka" prequel. His Paddington films were fairly enjoyable and affectionate.
Where is Denise Nickerson😮 what happened to her? Who played as violet? Bouregarde
She died
She had a stroke in 2018 and passed away roughly a year later in 2019.
Johnny Depp was terrible
