    Madam Fang was very amazing, clever, and courageous. So glad the zoo owner had a change of heart. Wonderful that they actually built a tunnel for Pia to visit his/her friends in the forest.

    Of course the panda wanted to go wander in the forest her natural habitat instead of being in a zoo.

    Humans do not give animals enough credit! The more we observe and learn, the more we understand how smart and truly incredible they are. I applaud the staff that they educated themselves and made changes. This is how progress is made. Lessons to learn - panda taught them all!!

    It was obvious to me that the panda was feeling lonely because she would do her escape only after the zoo was closed and everyone had left.

      actually panda are loner when they bcome adult Thats why zoos built separate enclosures for adult pandas.

    If the owner acted like he did at first, I could see why the worker didn't want him to know about the pandas in the cave. And instead of suddenly becoming ok with Po being outside the zoo, I could see him letting the others into PO's enclosure then keeping them locked up/selling them off. JS

    Parts of this story appear to be fabricated. The Panda did in fact escape, but the part involving the forest and finding the other Pandas? 🤷‍♀️ Would love to see more facts.

    That's Meng Lan the panda who successfully climbed out the fence (on the photos) from Beijing Zoo. An 8 year old male panda. He's smart & famous for his "prison break" stunts like climbing his fence & wall to even digging the sand to make an escape tunnel. His younger sister just live on the enclosure beside his & they usually interacted through communication screen.

      I LOVE Meng Lan. He's one of my 3 favorite pandas. He is so smart. I watched him smartly balancing himself on a red ball and then figuring how to climb over the fence. Do you have the link to the video where he was digging the sand to make an escape tunnel? He's so funny. I think because he grew up with a companion, he's missing playing with his sister and he's missing people. That's why he climbed over the fence where they usually are observing him with their notes.

      only the footage of panda climbing the fence is actual , The other footage of zookeepers are not chinese , so they are not the chinese zookeepers from the Beijing zoo where the panda escape happened.

    The "PANDA" you show escaping standing on the red ball is the most famous male panda in China who resides at the Beijing Zoo. His name is Meng Lan. Famous for escaping. I am up on all the pandas and have never heard this story of a female panda escaping like this.

    While it's a great story, Panda's are NOT Bears! They are Marsupials & while it doesn't change the story I think you should at least get to know the beautiful animals we share this planet with before you report on them. It's errors like this that keep the lesser educated among us from getting a GOOD education & keeps foolish notions about Panda's being wrongly spread about the internet. Just my opinion, for what it's worth but thank you for the consideration.

    • @dmikewilcox
      @dmikewilcox 2 месяца назад +3

      The giant panda are not marsupials. Marsupials carry their young in a pouch. The giant panda does not have a pouch. It has been debated if they should be classed with bears or with procyonids (one example being the raccoon). Genetically, they are closer to bears but still share characteristics with procyonids. It is probably best to think of the giant panda as it's own thing. Perhaps you are thinking of the koala bear? The koala is a marsupial and not a bear at all.

    • @safiremorningstar
      @safiremorningstar Месяц назад

      Actually, maybe they’re thinking of the red panda I think red pandas are maybe marsupials they’re not a real panda and they’re not really a bear either but they look more like a panda than they look like anything else other than a raccoon.
