Thank you for this demonstration. I have a couple of art batts I made that want to core spin with. I don’t have a ton of experience with core spinning. I’m planning to use a silk and baby alpaca yarn that I have leftover for the core.

And once wet again, all the over twist comes back….this poses problems when you make a garment and the fabric distorts. Run the yarn in the opposite direction to take out twist instead!

can you use a single ply as a core?

As long as you go in the direction to keep it twisted, otherwise it would untwist and fall apart.

What do you use the core spun yarn for..surely it’s not good for knitting

You can make anything you want with it, keeping in mink "yarn appropriate for item being mades". I knit this purple corspun into a pumpkin for Halloween. Thanks for watching. ~Shiree

Use a thicker amount to wrap around the core.
