How to Take Out Your Knitting to Fix a Mistake
Great way to upcycle an object!
Spinning is a lovely way to spend some time, and as a bonus, you get a product at the end. Also theres nothing more soothing than the sound of a spinning wheel. My wheels are both old, NZ made, one an antique(over 100) and the other is at least as old as me (60). Both of them have been owned by many people, and many hands have used them and i love that im just another step on their journey. I have them both on double drive because i like getting the tension set and then not having to faff around with it too much, plus im working on my finer spinning, and double drive is great for fine spinning.
Dziękuję 💐
Felicitări ❤

What width is that one?
16"
I don’t even own a loom but I am watching because I am debating about buying one when I return to the US.
Great, you will have so much fun. ~Shiree
I know this video was made more than 4 years ago, but I am just now seeing it. Your fringed scarf is beautiful. I love the twisted ends. I didn't now how that look was achieved. Thanks for sharing the technique, along with the loom, in this video.
You are so welcome!
I am going to take weaving class soon and wanted to be prepared. Your tutorial was amazing. As you were speaking about Jane and your LYS, I realized that Jane is the weaving instructor I am going to take classes with. Such a small world!!
Well that is so cool. Please tell Jane I say "Hi". Thanks for checking out the video. ~Shiree
Very cool! I just heard of a Niddy Noddy about 5 minutes ago. I’m not a spinner although 35 years ago I was going to try it but then life happened as it so often does. I am a knitter and crocheter. I was reading a thread about whether to re-skein your leftover yarn. I had no clue how someone would “re-skein” yarn but I knew that it could be “re- hanked.” Someone in this forum suggested using a Niddy Noddy and that got me curious. And then I found you! You have explained the process so well! Thanks so much! 😊
I'm glad it was helpful. Thank you for checking it out. ~Shiree
Best explanation. Thanks so much.
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching. ~Shiree
Thank you! You made it look easy. So glad you showed on country spinner. I just got a new to me wheel
Have fun!
And thats how hospital blankets are woven ...... using lenos
How many stitches please?
Hello I was wondering where u bought the thing that measure the thickness of the wool your spinning? It’s just a square thing?
Katrinkles.com
Excellent information! I agree the circular needles are much more comfortable than the long straight ones. I’m ready to try knitting again!
Great! Knitting is so much fun. ~Shiree
Hi...I need some help! Just put my 16" loom together & I think I did something backwards. Are both supposed to be going in the same direction when turning them? Mine are going the opposite 😮. If that's wrong, how do I remove the cig to fix it?
Yes they do need to be moving in unison. I'm sorry I don't know how to tell you to fix it from here. Please reference your manual and if that doesn't help you can call the seller. Thanks for watching. ~Shiree
@rehashfiber Thanks for your reply. Actually I did assemble it correctly. Now just have to get on to warping & choosing my first project
This is a very clear and concise tutorial. Thank you so much for making it. I'm a beginner and wasn't sure which spinning wheel I ought to get, but this one looks great. Thanks again. My daughters and I are excited to learn to spin, weave and knit
Wonderful! All of you GO FOR IT. It's so much fun and relaxing. Thanks for watching. ~Shiree
I LOVE that you went to Memory Care! Your future game plan sounds great.❤️-Tami
Thanks so much. ~Shiree
Glad you're safe! Welcome back 😊
Thank you! 😃
from Gerry. Your scarf looks great. I will definitely use this pattern. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
Thanks for checking it out. ~Shiree
There are a lot of craft machines in the US. Those are not available in my country.
Sorry to hear it.
Hi from England! I recently started nalbinding for very much the same reasons you did! I have been using Neulaintaat (I may have spelled it wrong!) and you are quite right, she is the best, with long playlists that are so good. Another good podcaster for nalbinding is called At Home with my Bookshelf, she is Norwegian and a relaxing watch as well. Thanks so much and good luck! Karen
Do you have more videos using country spinner? I am buying a new to me wheel and would love more videos on using it
Looking on the Spinning playlist. I do other spin demos useing the wheel.
Unfortunately my favorite supplier of my Ashford collection will often tell me the item is not in stock and will need to be shipped from Ashford. I have purchased the same item I was looking for from other fiber suppliers and received my items within 10 days. I had to come to the conclusion that some suppliers keep inventory while some will only order your item once you have paid for what you wanted. It's heartbreaking to me that I often have to overlook my favorite suppler in order to get my items shipped in a reasonable time. I will however be placing an order with them after the 1st of the year and simply wait them to arrive.
There is another way to load the shuttle : alternate loading the ends like a cross sideways , so the yarn does not bulk up , that it passes trough easier . I can’t explain it good with words , but look it up , you can load more yards to pass trough , and the loaded yarn is flatter to pass trough ..

What helps is activated charcoal. It draws out toxins on the skin. Native american used it on snake bites to draw out venom. But that is for the skin Urushiol is what is in mango, poison, oak, and sumac. Pistachios and Cashews also conntain the substance. Unfortunately, companies use these ingrediants in a plethora of foods and products, (skin products, hair color, and also hide it in flarings of foods that you wouldnt expect). I have to keep an epipen because when ingested, activated charcoal doesnt work. And they hide the oils of mango, cashew, and pistachio in things you wouldnt expect. Have to stay on your toes with this allergy!
An adult size please male and maybe with a cute touch of fur on the ears of details
How much can I pay you for this?
Great tutorial on the whole process! Thank you.
Hope you made it through the storm ok. I’m in Central Florida and we were ok but it looked like the whole Gulf coast was slammed.
We're okay, we're inland just enough. Thanks for asking and take care. ~Shiree
What are the ratios? How many ounces of locks to how many yards of what gauge yarn and what size needle. Thanks and hope the hurricane was kind to you.
The project was done with remnants, so I don't have numbers for you. It was a relaxed artful weave, just adding in the fuzzy locks as I went. The yarn was fingering/sport wt. The reed was a 7.5 dent. Thanks for watching. We made it through the hurricane alright. ~Shiree
Simple, but super helpful! Very interesting that you spun 2 in the S direction and 1 in the Z, and then plied in the Z direction...
Thanks for watching. ~Shiree
Thank you for this. Your sweater is perfection❤
Thank you and thanks for watching. ~Shiree
❤TU MONTRE TRES BIEN MERCI
Hi from CT Shiree! I love your videos. I just got a 108 blending board but have no idea what kind of fibers to purchase to start. I also was given an Irish threadle spinning wheel that I’m fixing up so it will be my first time spinning. I thought about asking the local dog groomer but she only cuts small dogs and I thought the fibers would be too short. What’s a good economical way to start? 😊
Start with soft wool or alpaca. Check online or depending your location, at local yarn stores or farms. Good luck, and enjoy the process. ~Shiree
@@rehashfiber Thanks Shiree! I ordered some wool roving and am excited to get started! Thank you for the advice. I found an alpaca farm nearby too and am planning a visit. Have a happy day!
This works on acrylic??!
No. Wool and other animal fibers have scales. These are what grab on to each other and felt.
That is so beautiful! I have so many single skein yarn colors from year long subscription. How many skeins did you use?
The two main colors you see are from two full size skeins and there was some left in the end. In between it was mini skeins and remnants.
Where did you get our spinning wheel?
The Woolery. woolery.com
Stunning👌💝💗 Love your podcast 🙏
Thank you so much!
from Gerry- What a beautiful garment! I didn't know about grafting. Thanks. Be blessed.
Thanks for being there! ~Shiree
How wide did you make it?
17.5"
This is a great pattern. I especially liked that there are numerous tutorial videos and pattern alternatives on you tube under the no fear shorty sock. Denise desantis known as earthtones girl is an excellent teacher. I’ve had questions and she actually has answered me. Taking time out of her day to explain the directions to me.
That's wonderful. Thanks for sharing that. ~Shiree
What weight and what kind of yarn did you use for this scarf? Also, which reed did you use? I'm completely new to weaving and am still watching videos in order to decide if I'm going to buy a loom. In one of your other videos where you talked about what came with your loom... I thought you mentioned something about a 7.5 and 12 reed? I was curious which one you used.
It was about a sport weight/DK weight yarn done on a 7.5 dent reed. Thanks for watching. ~Shiree
Thanks to the overhead shot and your hand staying still I was able to finally understand how the ply bracelet works. Recently got into handspinning so this is perfect, thank you so much for making this video!! :D
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching. ~Shiree
from Gerry- that's a lovely T. I've never done a sew off ribbing. It looks really good. God bless.
It's *amazing* just how a simple technique like this can produce a fabric that looks so elaborate!
What a wonderful idea
No hem stitch on the end of piece!
