As an engineer, listening to Jordan talk about ballistic coefficients like he knows exactly what he's talking about and how he has to "figure this all out" in order for him to use these, made me want to die. He doesn't have to do these equations at all, ever, because manufactures' engineers already did this while also taking into consideration the gun platforms that these bullets are made for. All my husband and I could do (he's an engineer too) was giggle like hell. He's mansplaining the dumbest downed version of this as if he's an expert. He's using the right words, but not really in any intelligent way.
I think he was surprised about the question, then tried to overly complicate and use word salad to make himself feel superior. He just thinks he's talking to an ignorant female audience, so he was hoping no one would notice. I don't know anything about ballistics, but I knew he was wrong. Lol

There's two types of men out there (well, more than two but let's just keep it broad): men who know what they are talking about who won't really talk much about it unless someone asks and then can explain it well regardless of the audience; and then the Jordans.. who want to be macho-women don't know anything - man, mansplain, and are typically partially correct or not at all correct. I've dealt with both in college and in the field. I understand that women weren't typically/traditionally into these things, but I know so many women who love the mechanics of guns and cars that were in my engineering programs that are SO* intelligent (typically more so than many of the men). I also kind of feel like it's a defense for herself. When she inevitably does something wrong she doesn't have to really take responsibility for it, she can laugh it off as "tee hee I am just a stupid woman! You can't expect me to be responsible for anything!" She then clings to men around her to take responsibility for her, even to the point of acting like she can't change a damn light bulb. It's so weird, because the men around her who are playing this typical "strong male protector" role act as if they want to be superior to women, but then they berate her for it as well. I assume it just makes them feel good to be constantly reminding her how inept she is and how much she needs him around.
Jordan is constantly putting her down and negging her. Everything he says about her is an insult disguised as playful banter and it’s terrible. If my husband talked to me like that, I would feel terrible about myself and our relationship. I wonder if he married her because he feels like he is better than her.

Am I the only one that gets annoyed when she keeps lying about being single for 5 years before she met Jordan? Girl was married at least once (or was it twice?) and had countless boyfriends. As someone who was homeschooled, people need to think LONG AND HARD to make sure that they actually know how to teach children and give them the education thats owed them. Too many people just want to teach their kids what they want and dont even stop to think about how it could affect their future. It can be a great way to educate children, but it has to be done correctly, and I don't see them doing that.

It's been awhile since I've been around a conservative Christian married couple. I'd forgotten how much they usually dislike each other. Men end up with more material and political advantages that way, but I think women end up with more spiritual advantages from having to cope with getting the short end of the stick so often.

People are not perfect that's life. I used to have major anger issues for years that I had to work on and fix. And it was for me things like wasting food or anything getting messed up I would freak out and yell cry and go off. I grew up poor so I didn't want anything wasted or to get broken. I would go into depression when I would break something myself or waste and yell and go off on people if they wasted or broke something and get so mad. I'm a Christian but this is things I had to work on and get help for. I also wanted people to yell at me and get mad when I broke or wasted anything. I still don't like to waste but I don't freak out anymore about it. When my car got wrecked and it wasn't enough to get another car I had to get a loan even though someone else hit me and ran red light. I was down but tried not to freak out and just deal with it.

If you're making a podcast, you have to accept the possibility of re-recording audio. You just have to. Me and my gf recorded an episode of a podcast recently. After recording I told her I didn't feel great about it. I thought I didnt do as good of a job as I could. She thought it was fine, but we re-recorded anyways because its important that we make something we're both proud of. If she came to me saying there was an equipment failure there would be no argument from me. No snide remarks, no "a wise woman once told you to treat your equipment better" just "ok, are we free Friday to record again? Can you replace that cord in time?" I couldnt imagine bickering with my cohost on mic like that over such an innate part of the process.

How can this be considered a podcast? Like this listening to two people having rambling on about random things is just so boring. And then just the underhanded insults Jordan flings towards her is uncomfortable. He has quite a superiority complex, and I think he definitely thinks that she’s lucky to be with him. But all in all. To be honest, it often comes across like they are just cosplaying what a typical christian marriage 'should be' - and I wonder how genuine it actually is to their personalities and what they are actually like as human beings. Not to say that we have any REAL insight into their relationship because of course, social media isn't real! But I just wonder sometimes, again with how radically Brittany was saved and her whole story being so wrapped in trauma, and then how it became her entire new identity - it's sometimes hard to judge how genuine anything actually is, or if they are just following rules and doing what they 'should' do and saying what they 'should' say. Sometimes people really feel they need that and again, no judgement, I just wonder sometimes.

I started watching you a few months ago and there is a reason why I stuck around. I am very much into fundie snark commentary but the difference between you and others on youtube is that almost all of them are atheist or agnostic. As someone who also grew up fundie I have comments I want to make but those commentators seem to not get it. You are also Christian so you very much understand what these influencers are saying and can use scripture to prove them wrong. A lot of the fundie snarks are just like "NO YOU'RE WRONG." I really appreciate your commentary

I think that since Jordan completely lost his own career due to his bad decisions and behavior he feels a little bit jaded that Brittany, despite going through lawsuits and being canceled online, is still able to make a living basically supporting both of them. I think he's the type of guy who just can't handle seeing their woman do better than them. I am not by any means a Brittany Dawn supporter, but that's my guess based on their very uncomfortable dynamic in this podcast.

My win for the week was finally finishing the Inkheart book series! I only read on my breaks from college, so I've been working on the series for a little over a year. The ending was so good and satisfying, especially because I had been yearning to finish the story for so long!

People are not perfect that's life. I used to have major anger issues for years that I had to work on and fix. And it was for me things like wasting food or anything getting messed up I would freak out and yell cry and go off. I grew up poor so I didn't want anything wasted or to get broken. I would go into depression when I would break something myself or waste and yell and go off on people if they wasted or broke something and get so mad. I'm a Christian but this is things I had to work on and get help for. I also wanted people to yell at me and get mad when I broke or wasted anything. I still don't like to waste but I don't freak out anymore about it. When my car got wrecked and it wasn't enough to get another car I had to get a loan even though someone else hit me and ran red light. I was down but tried not to freak out and just deal with it.

If you're making a podcast, you have to accept the possibility of re-recording audio. You just have to. Me and my gf recorded an episode of a podcast recently. After recording I told her I didn't feel great about it. I thought I didnt do as good of a job as I could. She thought it was fine, but we re-recorded anyways because its important that we make something we're both proud of. If she came to me saying there was an equipment failure there would be no argument from me. No snide remarks, no "a wise woman once told you to treat your equipment better" just "ok, are we free Friday to record again? Can you replace that cord in time?"

To be honest, it often comes across like they are just cosplaying what a typical christian marriage 'should be' - and I wonder how genuine it actually is to their personalities and what they are actually like as human beings. Not to say that we have any REAL insight into their relationship because of course, social media isn't real! But I just wonder sometimes, again with how radically Brittany was saved and her whole story being so wrapped in trauma, and then how it became her entire new identity - it's sometimes hard to judge how genuine anything actually is, or if they are just following rules and doing what they 'should' do and saying what they 'should' say. Sometimes people really feel they need that and again, no judgement, I just wonder sometimes.

I think that since Jordan completely lost his own career due to his bad decisions and behavior he feels a little bit jaded that Brittany, despite going through lawsuits and being canceled online, is still able to make a living basically supporting both of them. I think he's the type of guy who just can't handle seeing their woman do better than them. I am not by any means a Brittany Dawn supporter, but that's my guess based on their very uncomfortable dynamic in this podcast.

I totally agree with you. Jordan seems like he is insecure and the reason that he married BD is because he thinks he is more holy than her because of her past. He is constantly putting her down with unfunny jabs at her intelligence and competency.
One of his reasons for him not hunting was that she talks too much made my jaw drop. Don't worry, he has friends who hunt, so he's still "manly"! (I don't actually care if he hunts or not)

These 2 are so performative, it drives me insane. Constantly talking and posting about guns, security and being "tough" is nauseating. I have guns and security for my home. I literally never mention it. Its not something you speak about. My guns are safely locked up, i have children who do not need to be anywhere near them, i solely have them for safety. I dont tote them around like an accesory like her. Also the german shephard husband bit was obnoxious. I had a german shepherd for 11 years. He passed last year. That dog wouldnt hurt a fly unless someone was trying to hurt him or his loved ones. Was not aggressive. Was not rigid. He was trained to be a family dog, lovable and protective. Would he attack if you hurt me, my kids or husband? Yes. Would he attack you if you broke into my home? Yes. Would he try to give every delivery person, visitor, mailman a kiss and request pets from them? Yes.
Her husband sounds insufferable, cold, hateful and ignorant. Idc what line of work he was in or currently is in, hes not the tough guy he thinks he is. The fake christian, judgemental, gun toting lifestyle they pretend to live, is tired and overplayed. Be real humans.
Almost everything he says to her is a subtle or not subtle way of demeaning her. Don't like her but no one deserves to be in a marriage like this one.

My win for the week was finally finishing the Inkheart book series! I only read on my breaks from college, so I've been working on the series for a little over a year. The ending was so good and satisfying, especially because I had been yearning to finish the story for so long!
