Primarchs don’t have one. She got retconned a while ago. Space marines do though and there are a few excerpts where space marines meet their biological families and have different turnouts depending on the chapter

Magnus spoke to the Emperor since his landing on prospero and the Emperor was in many ways his only friend, light, and driving force to better himself in the face of adversity, besides his being a psyker and his interest in the warp. The council of Nikea was the beginning of the end for Magnus and his sons because it was as if God, gods sons, and every living breathing soul you are sworn to protect is one of his sons has told you that you are a daemon and far too powerful to control. When he broke the webway project he couldn't even bring himself to tell the Emperor, he just accepted his loss and chose to give himself up to Leman. He only started to fight back when prospero started to burn and even then his own sons had decided to fight first because their Primarch would not rise to the challenge. In other books where traitor primarchs are conversing with Magnus, I believe Lorgar in specific, they are poking fun at each other for the lack of discipline within their sons and Lorgar calls Magnus a hypocrite for forgetting that his own sons had disobeyed him and fought against the wolves anyways.

Horus knew exactly how to manipulate him, by using his dis-trust of pysckers and chaos to drive home the idea that Magnus deserves death. While Leman never liked Magnus he was never fond of killing his brother, they had already lost 2 before the heresy every happened. But Horus knew exactly how to enrage Leman, and it worked.

Why would he even need to be next to Russ when he can use psykic power to just get him from a distance? In the fight they were both injured. The Sister of Silence only asisted Russ trough their presence to konter some of the spells. He did the hard work.
